Isaia 33

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 - Guai a te, che predi, non sarai tu pure depredato? Guai a te, che oltraggi, non sarai tu pure oltraggiato? Quando avrai finito di predare, sarai depredato; quando stanco cesserai di oltraggiare, sarai oltraggiato.	1 Woe to thee that spoilest, shalt not thou thyself also be spoiled? and thou that despisest, shalt not thyself also be despised? when thou shalt have made an end of spoiling, thou shalt be spoiled: when being wearied thou shalt cease to despise, thou shalt be despised.
2 Signore, abbi pietà di noi, perchè abbiamo aspettato te! Sii tu nostro braccio fin dal mattino, nostra salvezza nel tempo della tribolazione!	2 O Lord, have mercy on us: for we have waited for thee: be thou our arm in the morning, and our salvation in the time of trouble.
3 Alla voce dell'Angelo i popoli sono fuggiti, quando ti sei alzato le nazioni si dispersero.	3 At the voice of the angel the people fled, and at the lifting up thyself the nations are scattered.
4 Le vostre spoglie saranno ammucchiate come si ammucchiano i bruchi, come quando di essi ne sono piene le fosse.	4 And your spoils shall be gathered together as the locusts are gathered, as when the ditches are full of them.
5 Il Signore ha trionfato, perchè abita nell'alto, ha ripiena Sion di equità e di giustizia.	5 The Lord is magnified, for he hath dwelt on high: he hath filled Sion with judgment and justice.
6 E nei tuoi tempi vi sarà fede, dovizia di salute, sapienza e scienza e timor del Signore sarà questo il tuo tesoro.	6 And there shall be faith in thy times: riches of salvation, wisdom and knowledge: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.
7 Ecco, i veggenti gridano da fuori, e i messaggeri di pace piangono amaramente.	7 Behold they that see shall cry without, the angels of peace shall weep bitterly.
8 Le vie sono deserte, per le strade non passa più nessuno; i patti sono stati rotti, rigettò egli le città, non tenne in conto alcuno gli uomini.	8 The ways are made desolate, no one passeth by the road, the covenant is made void, he hath rejected the cities, he hath not regarded the men.
9 La terra piange e langue, il Libano è confuso e avvilito, Saron è diventato come un deserto, Basan e il Carmelo sono smunti e sbattuti!	9 The land hath mourned, and languished: Libanus is confounded and become foul, and Saron is become as a desert: and Basan and Carmel are shaken.
10 Ora mi leverò io, ora mi alzerò, ora sorgerò io, dice il Signore.	10 Now will I rise up, saith the Lord: now will I be exalted, now will I lift up myself.
11 Concepiste paglia, partorirete stoppa; il vostro soffio farà una fiamma che vi consumerà.	11 You shall conceive heat, you shall bring forth stubble: your breath as fire shall devour you.
12 E i popoli saranno come le ceneri dopo l'incendio, come spine ammonticchiate saranno arsi dal fuoco.	12 And the people shall be as ashes after a fire, as a bundle of thorns they shall be burnt with fire.
13 Udite, voi che siete lontani, quant'io ho fatto; conoscete, voi vicini, la mia potenza!	13 Hear, you that are far off, what I have done, and you that are near know my strength.
14 I peccatori in Sion rimasero atterriti, furon presi da spavento gl'ipocriti. Chi di voi potrà dimorare con un fuoco divoratore? Chi di voi potrà dimorare tra gli ardori sempiterni?	14 The sinners in Sion are afraid, trembling hath seized upon the hypocrites. Which of you can dwell with devouring fire? which of you shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15 Chi procede con giustizia e parla con verità, chi aborre dalla roba di mal acquisto, e scuote dalle mani ogni donativo, chi chiude le orecchie alle istigazioni di sangue, e serra gli occhi per non vedere il male.	15 He that walketh in justices, and speaketh truth, that casteth away avarice by oppression, and shaketh his hands from all bribes, that stoppeth his ears lest he hear blood, and shutteth his eyes that he may see no evil.
16 Questi avrà dimora in luogo eccelso, rupi massicce a sua sublime difesa; è provvisto di pane, e le sue acque sono assicurate.	16 He shall dwell on high, the fortifications of rocks shall be his highness: bread is given him, his waters are sure.
17 Gli occhi suoi vedranno il re nel suo splendore, scorreranno collo sguardo la terra da lontano.	17 His eyes shall see the king in his beauty, they shall see the land far off.
18 Il tuo cuore penserà con terrore: «Dov'è il letterato? dove il ponderatore delle parole della legge? dove il dottore dei parvoli?».	18 Thy heart shall meditate fear: where is the learned? where is he that pondereth the words of the law? where is the teacher of little ones?
19 No, tu non rivedrai più il popolo inverecondo, la gente dal linguaggio oscuro che non s'intende, dall'idioma balbuziente che non si comprende.	19 The shameless people thou shalt not see, the people of profound speech: so that thou canst not understand the eloquence of his tongue, in whom there is no wisdom.
20 Mira Sion, città delle nostre solennità: gli occhi tuoi rivedranno Gerusalemme, stanza della dovizia, padiglione che non potrà mai essere rimosso; i suoi piuoli non saranno divelti in eterno, le sue corde non saranno mai spezzate.	20 Look upon Sion the city of our solemnity: thy eyes shall see Jerusalem, a rich habitation, a tabernacle that cannot be removed: neither shall the nails thereof be taken away for ever, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken:
21 Perchè ivi solamente risiede nella sua magnificenza il Signore nostro: luogo di fiumi con canali larghissimi e spaziosi, non vi passerà nave a remi nè alcun grosso vascello lo valicherà.	21 Because only there our Lord is magnificent: it place of rivers, very broad and spacious streams: no ship with oars shall pass by it, neither shall the great galley pass through it.
22 Perchè il Signore è nostro giudice, il Signore è nostro legislatore, il Signore è nostro re, egli ci salverà.	22 For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king: he will save us.
23 Si sono allentati i tuoi cordami e non reggeranno; la tua antenna è in tale stato, da non potervi spiegare lo stendardo. Allora saranno spartite le spoglie e le prede copiose: gli zoppi giungeranno a farne bottino.	23 Thy tacklings are loosed, and they shall be of no strength: thy mast shall be in such condition, that thou shalt not be able to spread the flag. Then shall the spoils of much prey be divided: the lame shall take the spoil.
24 E non si udirà nel vicinato dire: «Io sono infermo!». Il popolo che ivi abita sarà sciolto dalla sua iniquità.	24 Neither shall he that is near, say: I am feeble. The people that dwell therein, shall have their iniquity taken away from them.
