Proverbi 14

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - La donna saggia edifica la sua casa, e la stolta con le sue stesse mani, quella fatta la disfà.	1 Wisdom builds herself a house; with her own hands Folly pul s it down.
2 Chi cammina nel retto sentiero è uno che teme Dio, da colui è disprezzato, che batte una via ignominiosa.	2 Whoever keeps to an honest course fears Yahweh, whoever deserts his paths shows contempt forhim.
3 In bocca allo stolto è la verga della superbia, ma le labbra dei saggi sono a loro custodia.	3 Pride sprouts in the mouth of the fool, the lips of the wise keep them safe.
4 Dove non sono buoi la mangiatoia è vuota, ma dove le biade abbondano è manifesta la forza di essi.	4 No oxen, empty manger; strong bul , much cash.
5 Il testimonio fedele non mente e il testimonio falso dice menzogne.	5 The truthful witness tells no lies, the false witness lies with every breath.
6 Il derisore cerca la sapienza e non la trova, ma ai prudenti la sapienza è facile.	6 In vain the mocker looks for wisdom, knowledge comes easy to the intel igent.
7 Va' contro all'uomo stolto, egli non conosce i dettami della prudenza.	7 Keep wel clear of the fool, you wil not find wise lips there.
8 La sapienza dell'uomo accorto sta in conoscere la sua strada, e l'imprudenza degli stolti è fallace.	8 With people of discretion, wisdom keeps a watch over their conduct, but the fol y of fools leads themastray.
9 Lo stolto si fa giuoco del peccato, ma tra i giusti dimora la grazia.	9 Fools mock at the sacrifice for sin, but favour resides among the honest.
10 Il cuore sa lui la sua amarezza, anche alla sua gioia non ammette alcun estraneo.	10 The heart knows its own grief best, nor can a stranger share its joy.
11 La casa degli empi andrà distrutta e i padiglioni dei giusti saranno floridi.	11 The house of the wicked wil be destroyed, the tent of the honest wil prosper.
12 C'è una strada che all'uomo sembra giusta, ma il suo estremo conduce alla morte.	12 There are ways that some think straight, but they lead in the end to death.
13 Il riso sarà mescolato col dolore e all'estremità della gioia succederà l'afflizione.	13 Even in laughter the heart finds sadness, and joy makes way for sorrow.
14 L'uomo stolto si sazierà dei frutti della sua condotta, ma molto meglio di lui l'uomo buono.	14 The miscreant wil reap the reward of his conduct, and the good the reward of his deeds.
15 L'ingenuo presta fede ad ogni parola, ma l'avveduto considera i suoi passi. Non avrà mai bene il figlio ingannatoreal servo sapiente prospereranno le faccende, e le sue vie riusciranno.	15 The simpleton believes any message, a person of discretion treads a careful path.
16 Il saggio teme e schiva il male, lo stolto trascorre e si tiene sicuro.	16 The wise fears evil and avoids it, the fool is insolent and conceited.
17 L'uomo impaziente farà qualche pazzia, l'uomo astuto riuscirà odioso.	17 A quick-tempered person commits rash acts, but a schemer is detestable.
18 Gli sciocchi avranno in retaggio la stoltezza, agli avveduti spetterà l'aureola della scienza.	18 Simpletons have folly for their portion, people of discretion knowledge for their crown.
19 I tristi s'inchineranno dinanzi ai buonie i malvagi staranno alle porte dei giusti.	19 The evil bow down before the good, the wicked, at the gates of the upright.
20 Anche al suo prossimo è in odio il povero e gli amici del ricco sono molti.	20 The poor is detestable even to a friend, but many are they who love someone rich.
21 Chi sprezza il suo prossimo fa peccato e chi ha pietà dei poverelli, beato lui! Chi crede nel Signore ama la misericordia.	21 One who despises the needy is at fault, one who takes pity on the poor is blessed.
22 Errano quelli che operano il male! la misericordia e la verità sono artefici di bene.	22 Plan evil -- isn't this to go astray? Those who plan for good can earn faithful love and constancy.
23 Sempre dove c'è lavoro c'è abbondanza, ma dove sono molte parole ivi spesso è la penuria.	23 Hard work always yields its profit, idle talk brings only want.
24 L'aureola dei saggi è la loro ricchezza, la follia degli stolti follia resta.	24 The crown of the wise is their riches; the fol y of fools is folly.
25 Il testimonio verace libera le anime, e chi dice menzogne è un malintenzionato.	25 A truthful witness saves lives, whoever utters lies is a deceiver.
26 Nel timore di Dio c'è una forza fiduciosa e sarà pei suoi figli una speranza.	26 In the fear of Yahweh is powerful security; for his children he is a refuge.
27 Il timor del Signore è una sorgente di vita per sfuggire alla rovina della morte.	27 The fear of Yahweh is a life-giving spring for eluding the snares of death.
28 Nella moltitudine del popolo è l'onore del re e nella scarsezza dei sudditi la vergogna del sovrano.	28 Large population, monarch's glory; dwindling population, ruler's ruin.
29 Chi è paziente si regola con molta prudenza, chi è impaziente manifesta la sua follia.	29 Mastery of temper is high proof of intel igence, a quick temper makes fol y worse than ever.
30 Sanità di cuore dà vita a tutto il corpo, ma tarlo delle ossa l'invidia.	30 The life of the body is a tranquil heart, but envy is a cancer in the bones.
31 Chi maltratta il medico fa onta al suo fattore e chi ha pietà del poverello gli dà gloria.	31 To oppress the weak insults the Creator, kindness to the needy honours the Creator.
32 Nella sua malizia l'empio si sente travolto, ma il giusto anche in punto di morte spera.	32 For evil-doing, the wicked wil be flung headlong, but in integrity the upright wil find refuge.
33 Nel cuore del prudente la scienza riposa e saprà istruire qualunque ignorante.	33 Wisdom resides in an understanding heart; she is not to be found in the hearts of fools.
34 La giustizia esalta una nazione, ma il peccato immiserisce i popoli.	34 Uprightness makes a nation great, by sin whole races are disgraced.
35 Il ministro intelligente è ben voluto dal re, e quello disutile proverà la sua collera.	35 A king shows favour to a wise minister, but anger to one who shames him.
