2 Acclamate esultanti Iddio, nostro aiuto, giubilate davanti al Dio di Giacobbe!	2 over Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh; rouse your valour and come to our help.
3 Intonate l'inno e sonate il timpano, l'arpa soave con la cetra.	3 God, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.
4 Date fiato nel novilunio, alla tromba, nel giorno insigne della vostra solennità.	4 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, how long wil you flare up at your people's prayer?
5 Perch'è una legge in Israele e un comando del Dio di Giacobbe:	5 You have made tears their food, redoubled tears their drink.
6 una norma ne fece per Giuseppe, quando uscì dalla terra d' Egitto. Una parlata sconosciuta io odo:	6 You let our neighbours quarrel over us, our enemies mock us.
7 «Sgravai da' pesi le tue spalle: le tue mani han finito di servir con la corba.	7 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shall be safe.
8 Nella tribolazione m'invocasti e t'ho liberato, ti risposi d'entro la fosca procella, ti misi alla prova presso l'acqua della contradizione.	8 You brought a vine out of Egypt, to plant it you drove out nations;
9 Ascolta, o mio popolo, e t'ammonirò; o Israele, mi dessi tu ascolto!	9 you cleared a space for it, it took root and fil ed the whole country.
10 Non sarà presso di te un dio novello, nè adorerai un dio straniero.	10 The mountains were covered with its shade, and the cedars of God with its branches,
11 Io sono infatti il Signore, Iddio tuo, che ti trassi fuori dalla terra d'Egitto: spalanca la tua bocca, e io la riempirò!».	11 its boughs stretched as far as the sea, its shoots as far as the River.
12 Ma non ascoltò il mio popolo la mia voce, e Israele non badò a me.	12 Why have you broken down its fences? Every passer-by plucks its grapes,
13 E gli abbandonai alla durezza del loro cuore, che si conducessero a loro capriccio.	13 boars from the forest tear at it, wild beasts feed on it.
14 Oh! se il popol mio m'avesse ascoltato, se Israele nelle mie vie avesse camminato!	14 God Sabaoth, come back, we pray, look down from heaven and see, visit this vine;
15 Come un nulla avrei forse umiliato i suoi nemicie sui suoi avversari avrei steso la mia mano.	15 protect what your own hand has planted.
16 I nemici del Signore l'avrebber piaggiato, e la sua durata sarebbe stata eterna.	16 They have thrown it on the fire like dung, the frown of your rebuke wil destroy them.
17 E l'avrei cibato di fior di frumentoe di miele [stillante] dalla roccia l'avrei saziato.	17 May your hand protect those at your side, the child of Adam you have strengthened for yourself!
	18 Never again wil we turn away from you, give us life and we will cal upon your name.
	19 God Sabaoth, bring us back, let your face shine on us and we shal be safe.
