1 - Al corifeo: su «Gigli». Ode dei figliuoli di Core. Cantico d'amore.	1 Unto the end. For those who will be changed. To the sons of Korah, toward understanding. A Canticle for the Beloved.
2 Effonde il mio cuore una soave parola, canto i miei versi al re: la mia lingua è uno stile di scriba che scrive veloce.	2 My heart has uttered a good word. I speak of my works to the king. My tongue is like the pen of a scribe who writes quickly.
3 Bello tu sei d'aspetto più de' figliuoli degli uomini, cosparsa è la grazia sulle tue labbra; perciò t'ha benedetto Dio in eterno.	3 You are a brilliant form before the sons of men. Grace has been poured freely into your lips. Because of this, God has blessed you in eternity.
4 Cingiti la tua spada al fianco, o fortissimo,	4 Fasten your sword to your thigh, O most powerful one.
5 [rivestiti] del tuo splendore e della tua maestà. Va', procedi fortunato, cavalcaper la verità e la pietà e la giustizia, e mirabilmente ti guiderà la tua destra.	5 With your splendor and your excellence extended, proceed prosperously, and reign for the sake of truth and meekness and justice, and so will your right hand lead you wondrously.
6 Le frecce tue [sono] acute, i popoli cadran sotto di te:[s'infiggono] nel cuore de' nemici del re.	6 Your arrows are sharp; the people will fall under you, with the hearts of the enemies of the king.
7 Il tuo trono, o Dio, [sta] per i secoli de' secoli; scettro di rettitudine è lo scettro del tuo regno.	7 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of true aim.
8 Tu ami la giustizia e odii l'iniquità: perciò ti unse Dio, Iddio tuo, con olio di letizia a preferenza de' tuoi compagni.	8 You have loved justice and hated iniquity. Because of this, God, your God, has anointed you, before your co-heirs, with the oil of gladness.
9 Mirra e aloè e cassia [spiran] dalle tue vesti, [s'effondono] da' palagi d'avorio, dove t'allietanofiglie di re rendendoti onore.	9 Myrrh and balsam and cinnamon perfume your garments, from the houses of ivory. From these, they have delighted you:
10 Sta la regina alla tua destra in veste d'oro, ravvolta in variopinto abbigliamento.	10 the daughters of kings in your honor. The queen assisted at your right hand, in clothing of gold, encircled with diversity.
11 Ascolta, o figlia, guarda e china il tuo orecchio, e dimentica il tuo popolo e la casa del padre tuo.	11 Listen, daughter, and see, and incline your ear. And forget your people and your father’s house.
12 Si invaghirà il re della tua bellezza; poichè egli è il tuo signore, ti prostra a lui.	12 And the king will desire your beauty. For he is the Lord your God, and they will adore him.
13 E le figliuole di Tiro imploreranno con doni il [favor del] tuo volto[e così pure] tutti i ricchi del popolo.	13 And the daughters of Tyre will entreat your countenance with gifts: all the rich men of the people.
14 Tutta la gloria di lei, figliuola di re, è all' interno [del palazzo]: con frange d'oro [è adorna],	14 All the glory of the daughter of its king is inside, in golden fringes,
15 ravvolta in variopinto abbigliamento. Son condotte al re le fanciulle del suo seguito, le sue damigelle ti son presentate, [o re].	15 clothed all around with diversities. After her, virgins will be led to the king. Her neighbors will be brought to you.
16 Son condotte con letizia ed esultanza, son introdotte nel palazzo del re.	16 They will be brought with gladness and exultation. They will be led into the temple of the king.
17 Al posto de' tuoi padri, [o re] staranno i tuoi figliuoli: li costituirai principi su tutta la terra.	17 For your fathers, sons have been born to you. You will establish them as leaders over all the earth.
18 Ricorderanno il tuo nome di generazione in generazione; perciò i popoli ti celebreranno in eterno e ne' secoli.	18 They will remember your name always, for generation after generation. Because of this, people will confess to you in eternity, even forever and ever.
