BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 'Di Davide.' Il Signore è mia luce e mia salvezza, di chi avrò paura? Il Signore è difesa della mia vita, di chi avrò timore?	1 [Of David] Yahweh is my light and my salvation, whom should I fear? Yahweh is the fortress of my life,whom should I dread?
2 Quando mi assalgono i malvagi per straziarmi la carne, sono essi, avversari e nemici, a inciampare e cadere.	2 When the wicked advance against me to eat me up, they, my opponents, my enemies, are the oneswho stumble and fal .
3 Se contro di me si accampa un esercito, il mio cuore non teme; se contro di me divampa la battaglia, anche allora ho fiducia.	3 Though an army pitch camp against me, my heart wil not fear, though war break out against me, mytrust wil never be shaken.
4 Una cosa ho chiesto al Signore, questa sola io cerco: abitare nella casa del Signore tutti i giorni della mia vita, per gustare la dolcezza del Signore ed ammirare il suo santuario.	4 One thing I ask of Yahweh, one thing I seek: to dwel in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, toenjoy the sweetness of Yahweh, to seek out his temple.
5 Egli mi offre un luogo di rifugio nel giorno della sventura. Mi nasconde nel segreto della sua dimora, mi solleva sulla rupe.	5 For he hides me away under his roof on the day of evil, he folds me in the recesses of his tent, setsme high on a rock.
6 E ora rialzo la testa sui nemici che mi circondano; immolerò nella sua casa sacrifici d'esultanza, inni di gioia canterò al Signore.	6 Now my head is held high above the enemies who surround me; in his tent I wil offer sacrifices ofacclaim. I wil sing, I wil make music for Yahweh.
7 Ascolta, Signore, la mia voce. Io grido: abbi pietà di me! Rispondimi.	7 Yahweh, hear my voice as I cry, pity me, answer me!
8 Di te ha detto il mio cuore: "Cercate il suo volto"; il tuo volto, Signore, io cerco.	8 Of you my heart has said, 'Seek his face!' Your face, Yahweh, I seek;
9 Non nascondermi il tuo volto, non respingere con ira il tuo servo. Sei tu il mio aiuto, non lasciarmi, non abbandonarmi, Dio della mia salvezza.	9 do not turn away from me. Do not thrust aside your servant in anger, without you I am helpless. Neverleave me, never forsake me, God, my Saviour.
10 Mio padre e mia madre mi hanno abbandonato, ma il Signore mi ha raccolto.	10 Though my father and mother forsake me, Yahweh wil gather me up.
11 Mostrami, Signore, la tua via, guidami sul retto cammino, a causa dei miei nemici.	11 Yahweh, teach me your way, lead me on the path of integrity because of my enemies;
12 Non espormi alla brama dei miei avversari; contro di me sono insorti falsi testimoni che spirano violenza.	12 do not abandon me to the wil of my foes -- false witnesses have risen against me, and are breathingout violence.
13 Sono certo di contemplare la bontà del Signore nella terra dei viventi.	13 This I believe: I shal see the goodness of Yahweh, in the land of the living.
14 Spera nel Signore, sii forte, si rinfranchi il tuo cuore e spera nel Signore.	14 Put your hope in Yahweh, be strong, let your heart be bold, put your hope in Yahweh.
