Geremia 8

BIBBIA TINTORI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 In quel tempo — dice il Signore — saran gettate fuori dai loro sepolcri le ossa dei re di Giuda, le ossa dei suoi principi, le ossa dei suoi sacerdoti, le ossa dei suoi profeti, le ossa di quelli che àbitaron Gerusalemme.	1 At that time, saith the Lord, they shall cast out the bones of the kings of Juda, and the bones of the princes thereof, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves.
2 E saranno esposte al sole e alla luna, e a tutta l'armata del cielo, che amarono, che servirono, che seguirono, che cercarono e adorarono: non saranno raccolte, nè sotterrate, saran come concime sulla faccia della terra.	2 And they shall spread them abroad to the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and adored: they shall not be gathered, and they shall not be buried: they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth.
3 E anteporranno la morte alla vita tutti quelli che di questa pessima razza resteranno in tutti quei luoghi abbandonati dai eguali io li ho cacciati, — dice Signore degli eserciti.	3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all that shall remain of this wicked kindred in all places, which are left, to which I have cast them out, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 E dirà loro: « Così parla il Signore: — Forse chi cade non può rialzarsi, e chi è uscito fuor di strada non ci può ritornare?	4 And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord: Shall not he that falleth, rise again? and he that is turned away, shall he not turn again?
5 E perchè dunque questo popolo di Gerusalemme s'è ribellato con ribellione ostinata? Si sono attaccati alla menzogna, e non voglion tornare.	5 Why then is this people in Jerusalem turned away with a stubborn revolting? they have laid hold on lying, and have refused to return.
6 Stetti attento, ascoltai: nessuno parla di bene, non c'è chi faccia penitenza del suo peccato e dica: « Che ho fatto? » Tutti continuano la loro corsa, come cavallo che si slancia nella battaglia.	6 I attended, and hearkened; no man speaketh what is good, there is none that doth penance for his sin, saying: What have I done? They are all turned to their own course, as a horse rushing to the battle.
7 Nell'aria il nibbio conosce il suo tempo, la tortorella, la rondine e la cicogna osservano il tempo del loro arrivo, ma il mio popolo non ha conosciuta la legge del Signore.	7 The kite in the air hath known her time: the turtle, and the swallow, and the stork have observed the time of their coming: but my people have not known the judgment of the Lord.
8 Come potete dire: Noi siamo sapienti e abbiam con noi la legge del Signore? — In verità il bugiardo stilo degli scribi ha vergato menzogne.	8 How do you say: We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Indeed the lying pen of the scribes hath wrought falsehood.
9 I sapienti son confusi, atterriti e presi, perchè hanno rigettata la parola del Signore e non hanno punta sapienza.	9 The wise men are confounded, they are dismayed, and taken: for they have cast away the word of the Lord, and there is no wisdom in them.
10 Per questo io darò le loro mogli agli stranieri, i loro campi agli eredi, perchè dal più piccolo al più grande tutti si son dati all'avarizia, e, dal profeta al sacerdote, tutti son bugiardi.	10 Therefore I will give their women to strangers, their fields to others for an inheritance: because from the least even to the greatest all follow covetousness: from the prophet even to the priest, all deal deceitfully.
11 Ed han curata con scherni la piaga della figlia del mio popolo, dicendo: « Pace, pace! » e di pace non ce n'era punta.	11 And they healed the breach of the daughter of my people disgracefully, saying Peace, peace: when there was no peace.
12 Essi dovrebbero arrossire d'aver fatte cose abominevoli, ma invece la stessa confusione non li ha confusi, non han conosciuta la vergogna, per questo cadranno fra quelli che rovinano, saranno atterrati nel giorno del loro castigo — dice il Signore. —	12 They are confounded, because they have committed abomination: yea rather they are not confounded with confusion, and they have not know how to blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall; in the time of their visitation they shall fall, saith the Lord.
13 Io li radunerò tutti — dice il Signore: — non c'è uva sulle viti, non ci son fichi sul fico, (son cadute) anche le foglie, ciò che diedi loro se n'è andato.	13 Gathering I will gather them together, saith the Lord, there is no grape on the vines, and there are no figs on the fig tree, the leaf is fallen: and I have given them the things that are passed away.
14 Perchè stiamo a sedere? Radunatevi, andiamo nella città forte, stiamoci in silenzio perchè il Signore Dio nostro ci ha ridotti al silenzio, ci ha dato a bere l'acqua di fiele, avendo noi peccato contro il Signore;	14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the fenced city, and let us be silent there: for the Lord our God hath put us to silence, and hath given us water of gall to drink: for we have sinned against the Lord.
15 aspettavamo la pace e non è venuto niente di buono, il tempo della guarigione, ed ecco lo spavento.	15 We looked for peace and no good came: for a time of healing, and behold fear.
16 Da Dan si è sentito nitrire i suoi cavalli, dall'alto vociar dei suoi combattenti: trema tutta la terra. Vengono, divorano la terra e tutto ciò che contiene, le città e i loro abitanti.	16 The snorting of his horse was heard from Dan, all the land was moved at the sound of the neighing of his warriors: and they came and devoured the land, and all that was in it: the city and its inhabitants.
17 Ecco io vi manderò dei serpenti, dei basilischi da non potersi incantare: essi vi morderanno — dice il Signore.	17 For behold I will send among you serpents, basilisks, against which there is no charm: and they shall bite you, saith the Lord.
18 Il mio dolore sorpassa ogni dolore, ho dentro di me il cuore angustiato.	18 My sorrow is above sorrow, my heart mourneth within me.
19 Ecco il grido della figlia del mio popolo da terra lontana! Non è più in Sion il Signore? Non c'è più il suo re in lei? Perchè dunque m'han provocato a sdegno coi loro idoli, colle vanità straniere?	19 Behold the voice of the daughter my people from a far country: Is not the Lord in Sion, or is not her king in her? why then have they provoked me to wrath with their idols, and strange vanities?
20 La mietitura è passata, l'estate è finita, e noi siamo stati salvati.	20 The harvest is passed, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
21 Sono oppresso dallo strazio della figlia del mio popolo, sono nell'angoscia; lo spavento m'ha invaso.	21 For the affliction of the daughter of my people I am afflicted, and made sorrowful, astonishment hath taken hold on me.
22 Non c'è più balsamo in Galaad? Non ci son più dei medici per te? Perchè dunque non si è rimarginata la ferita della figlia del mio popolo?	22 Is there no balm in Galaad? or is no physician there? Why then is not the wound of the daughter of my people closed?
