1 (Salmo di David). Signore, a te alzo il grido, esaudiscimi, porgi l'orecchio alla mia voce, quando t'invoco.	1 A Psalm of David. O Lord, I have cried out to you, hear me. Attend to my voice, when I cry out to you.
2 S'innalzi la mia preghiera come incenso nel tuo cospetto, e le mie mani come il sacrifizio della sera.	2 Let my prayer be guided like incense in your sight: the lifting up of my hands, like the evening sacrifice.
3 Poni, o Signore, ima guardia alla mia bocca ed una porta intorno alle mie labbra.	3 O Lord, station a guard over my mouth and a door enclosing my lips.
4 Non permettere che il mio cuore scenda a maliziose parole, per trovar delle scuse nei peccati, come fanno coloro che agiscono iniquamente: io non voglio aver che fare coi loro preferiti.	4 Do not turn aside my heart to words of malice, to making excuses for sins, with men who work iniquity; and I will not communicate, even with the best of them.
5 Mi corregga, pure il giusto, con misericordia, e mi rimproveri, ma l'unguento del peccatore non profumi il mio capo. Che anzi è contro le cose da essi desiderate la mia preghiera.	5 The just one will correct me with mercy, and he will rebuke me. But do not allow the oil of the sinner to fatten my head. For my prayer will still be toward their good will.
6 Sono precipitati legati a pietra i loro giudici: ascolteranno le mie parole, perchè efficaci.	6 Their judges have been engulfed, joined to the rocks. They will hear my words, which have prevailed,
7 Come grossa zolla si sbriciola sul terreno, le nostre ossa son disperse lungo la regione dei morti.	7 as when the lava of the earth has erupted above ground. Our bones have been scattered beside Hell.
8 Ma giacché, o Signore, o Signore, a te son rivolti gli occhi miei e in te spero, non togliermi la vita.	8 For Lord, O Lord, my eyes look to you. In you, I have hoped. Do not take away my soul.
9 Guardami dal laccio che m'han teso e dagli scandali degli operatori d'iniquità.	9 Protect me from the snare that they have set up for me and from the scandals of those who work iniquity.
10 I peccatori cadano nella propria rete; io me ne sto solo solo fino al tempo del mio passaggio.	10 The sinners will fall into his net. I am alone, until I pass over.
