Isaia 34

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 - Accostatevi, o nazioni, ed ascoltate; o popoli, state in attenzione, oda la terra con tutto ciò che la riempie, il mondo e tutto quello che produce.	1 Come near, ye Gentiles, and hear, and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein, the world, and every thing that cometh forth of it.
2 Perchè l'ira del Signore è imminente sopra tutte le genti, il suo furore sovrasta a tutte le loro schiere: li ha condannati all'eccidio, li ha destinati alla strage.	2 For the indignation of the Lord if upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath killed them, and delivered them to slaughter.
3 I loro uccisi saranno lasciati in abbandono; dai loro cadaveri si spanderà il fetore e i monti si scioglieranno nel loro sangue.	3 Their slain shall be cast forth, and out of their carcasses shall rise a slink: the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4 Si dissolverà tutta la milizia dei cieli, il cielo si ravvolgerà come un libro, e tutte le schiere del cielo cadranno, come cade la foglia della vite e del fico.	4 And all the host of the heavens shall pine away, and the heavens shall be folded together as a book: and all their host shall fall down as the leaf falleth from the vine, and from the fig tree.
5 Perchè la mia spada in cielo è ebbra di sdegno, ed ecco che piomberà sopra l'Idumeae sopra il popolo che ho votato allo sterminio a mia vendetta.	5 For my sword is inebriated in heaven: behold it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my slaughter unto judgment.
6 La spada del Signore è piena di sangue, unta di grasso, di sangue d'agnelli e di capri, di sangue di adiposi arieti; perchè un sacrificio fa il Signore in Bosra, un macello grande di vittime nella terra di Edom.	6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made thick with the blood of lambs and buck goats, with the blood of rams full of marrow: for there is a victim of the Lord in Bosra and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 E cadranno con essi i liocornie i tori insieme colle bestie potenti; sarà inebriata di sangue la loro terrae il loro suolo di grasso degli adipi.	7 And the unicorns shall go down with them, and the bulls with the mighty: their land shall be soaked with blood, and their ground with the fat of fat ones.
8 Perchè v'è un giorno della vendetta del Signore, un anno di retribuzione per la causa di Sion.	8 For it is the day of the vengeance of the Lord, the year of recompenses of the judgment of Sion.
9 E i suoi torrenti si convertiranno in pece, e la sua terra in zolfo, e il suo suolo in pece ardente.	9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the ground thereof into brimstone: and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
10 Non si spegnerà nè dì nè notte; il suo fumo salirà eternamente, pel volgere di generazioni e generazioni sarà desolatae più nessuno passerà per essa, per tutti i secoli dei secoli.	10 Night and day it shall not be quenched, the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste, none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
11 E la possederanno il pellicano e il riccio, l'ibis e il corvo verranno ad abitarla; e sarà livellata e ridotta al niente, spianata al suolo dalla desolazione.	11 The bittern and ericius shall possess it: and the ibis and the raven shall dwell in it: and a line shall be stretched out upon it, to bring it to nothing, and a plummet, unto desolation.
12 I suoi nobili più non vi saranno, tanto più invocheranno inutilmente un re; tutti i suoi principi saranno annientati.	12 The nobles thereof shall not be there: they shall call rather upon the king, and all the princes thereof shall be nothing.
13 Nei suoi palazzi nasceranno le spine e nelle sue fortezze le ortiche e i rovi; sarà il covo dei dragoni e il pascolo degli struzzi.	13 And thorns and nettles shall grow up in its houses, and the thistle in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be the habitation of dragons, and the pasture of ostriches.
14 Diaboliche e mostruose bestie vi faranno ritrovo, irsute fiere si risponderanno a vicenda. Venne ivi l'orco ad accovacciarsie ha trovato il suo riposo;	14 And demons and monsters shall meet, and the hairy ones shall cry out one to another, there hath the lamia lain down, and found rest for herself.
15 il riccio vi fece la sua tana e allevò i suoi nati, scavò le sue buche e li nutrì all'ombra sua; gli avvoltoi, uno appresso l'altro, ivi si sono raccolti.	15 There hath the ericius had its hole, and brought up its young ones, and hath dug round about, and cherished them in the shadow thereof: thither are the kites gathered together one to another.
16 Cercate diligentemente nel libro del Signore e leggete: uno di questi vaticini non mancherà, uno non sarà senza dell'altro; perchè ciò che esce dalla mia bocca egli lo ha dettato, e lo spirito di lui è quello che li ha raccolti.	16 Search ye diligently in the book of the Lord, and read: not one of them was wanting, one hath not sought for the other: for that which proceedeth out of my mouth, he hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
17 Egli l'ha destinata in sorte alle fiere, a loro la sua mano colla misura l'ha spartita, esse la possederanno in eterno, per generazioni e generazioni l'abiteranno.	17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it to them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation they shall dwell therein.
