Isaia 28

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 - Guai alla corona di superbia, agli ebbri di Efraim, e al fiore cadente della loro vantata gloria, a quelli lassù in capo alla valle ubertosa, storditi dal vino.	1 Woe to the crown of arrogance, to the inebriated of Ephraim, and to the falling flower, the glory of his exultation, to those who were at the top of the very fat valley, staggering from wine.
2 Ecco il Signore forte e possente che viene, come un rovescio di grandine, un turbine devastatore, come un'ondata di acque immense che si riversano e invadono la distesa della terra!	2 Behold, the Lord is powerful and steadfast, like a storm of hail, like a crushing whirlwind, like the force of many waters, inundating, sent forth over a spacious land.
3 E la corona di superbia degli ubriachi di Efraim sarà messa sotto i piedi e calpestata.	3 The arrogant crown of the inebriated of Ephraim will be trampled under foot.
4 E il fiore cadente della pomposa gloria di colui che è lassù in capo alla vallata ubertosa, sarà come un frutto precoce che viene a maturazione prima dell'autunno: non appena un riguardante lo vede, che tosto coltolo colla mano, se lo divora.	4 And the falling flower, the glory of his exultation, who is at the summit of the fat valley, will be like a premature fruit before the ripeness of autumn, which, when the onlooker beholds it, as soon he takes it in his hand, he will devour it.
5 Il quel giorno il Signore degli eserciti sarà una corona di gloria e un serto festoso alle reliquie del suo popolo.	5 In that day, the Lord of hosts will be the crown of glory and the wreath of exultation for the remnant of his people.
6 E sarà spirito di giustizia per colui che siede al tribunale della giustizia e di valore per quelli che respingono la battaglia verso le porte.	6 And he will be the spirit of judgment for those who sit in judgment, and the strength of those who return from war to the gates.
7 Ma anche costoro, pel troppo vino, non sanno più quel che fanno, e per l'ubriachezza hanno smarrito il senno. Il sacerdote e il profeta per l'ubriachezza hanno perduto la conoscenza, sono affogati nel vino, hanno smarrito il senno per l'ubriachezza, più non conobbero spirito di profeta, non seppero più far giustizia.	7 Yet truly, these also have been ignorant due to wine, and they have gone astray due to inebriation. The priest and the prophet have been ignorant because of inebriation. They have been absorbed by wine. They have staggered in drunkenness. They have not known the One who sees. They have been ignorant of judgment.
8 Perchè tutte le mense sono piene di vomito e di lordure, tanto che non v'è più un posto netto.	8 For all the tables have been filled with vomit and filth, so much so that there was no place left.
9 «A chi insegnerà egli la scienza? Da chi si farà egli intendere? Da bambini slattati, staccati dalle mammelle?».	9 To whom will he teach knowledge? And to whom will he grant an understanding of what is heard? To those who have been weaned from the milk, who have been pulled away from the breasts.
10 Proprio così: «Ordina riordina, ordina riordina; aspetta riaspetta; un poco qui, un poco qui».	10 So then: command, and command again; command, and command again; expect, and expect again; a little here, and a little there.
11 In parole balbettate, in linguaggio estraneo parlerà a questo popolo.	11 For with the speech of lips and with a different language, he will speak to this people.
12 A cui aveva detto: «La mia via per aver quiete è questa, date tregua al popolo stanco; questo è il mio suggerimento per aver refrigerio». Ma non hanno voluto intendere.	12 He said to them: “This is my rest. Refresh the weary,” and, “This is my refreshment.” And yet they were unwilling to listen.
13 E allora la parola del Signore per loro sarà: «Ordina riordina, ordina riordina; aspetta riaspetta; un poco qui, un poco qui; affinchè vadano e si rovescino, e s'infrangano, e siano accalappiati e presi».	13 And so, the word of the Lord to them will be: “Command, and command again; command, and command again; expect, and expect again; a little here, and a little there,” so that they may go forward and fall backward, and so that they may be broken and ensnared and captured.
14 Per questo, udite la parola del Signore, o uomini beffardi, che spadroneggiate sopra il mio popolo che è in Gerusalemme.	14 Because of this, listen to the word of the Lord, you mocking men, who lord it over my people who are at Jerusalem.
15 Giacchè avete detto: «Abbiamo fatto un patto colla morte e una convenzione col sepolcro. Quando il flagello, come una piena, passerà, non verrà sopra di noi; perchè abbiamo posto nostro sostegno la menzogna e sotto il riparo della falsità noi siam sicuri».	15 For you have said: “We struck a deal with death, and we formed a pact with Hell. When the inundating scourge passes through, it will not overwhelm us. For we have placed our hope in lies, and we are protected by what is false.”
16 Perciò, così dice il Signore Dio: «Ecco ch'io pongo nei fondamenti di Sion una pietra, una pietra scelta, angolare, preziosa, di saldo fondamento: chi ha fede non si affanni.	16 For this reason, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will set a stone within the foundations of Zion, a tested stone, a cornerstone, a precious stone, which has been established in the foundation: whoever trusts in him need not hurry.
17 Io metterò l'equità per peso e la giustizia per misura; e la grandine schianterà il sostegno mendace della vostra speranza, e le acque travolgeranno il riparo che vi proteggeva.	17 And I will establish judgment in weights, and justice in measures. And a hailstorm will overturn hope in what is false; and waters will inundate its protection.
18 E il vostro patto colla morte sarà infranto, e la vostra convenzione col sepolcro non sarà mantenuta; e quando il flagello, come una piena passerà, resterete da esso schiacciati.	18 And your deal with death will be abolished, and your pact with Hell will not stand. When the inundating scourge passes through, you will be trampled down by it.
19 Ogni qual volta passerà, vi trasporterà via, perchè passerà di mattino presto, di giorno e di notte; non c'è altro che l'afflizione, solo l'afflizione darà intelligenza all'udito.	19 Whenever it passes through, it will take you away. For, at first light of morning, it will pass through, in the day and in the night, and vexation alone will make you understand what you hear.
20 Quando il letto è troppo angusto l'un o l'altro cascherà, quando è corta la coperta tutti e due non coprirà.	20 For the bed has been narrowed, so much so that one alone would fall out, and the short blanket is not able to cover two.
21 Perchè il Signore si leverà, come già fece sul Monte delle Divisioni, fremente di sdegno; come nella Valle che è in Gabaon, per compiere l'opera sua con qualche cosa straordinaria, per eseguire il suo divisamento con qualche fatto insolito.	21 For the Lord will stand, just as at the mountain of divisions. He will be angry, just as in the valley which is in Gibeon, so that he may accomplish his work, his strange work, so that he may complete his work, his work which is foreign even to him.
22 Or dunque non schernite più, affinchè non si aggravino maggiormente le vostre catene; perchè uno sterminio e una recisione ho udito dal Signore degli eserciti sovrastare a tutta la terra.	22 And now, do not be willing to mock, lest your chains be tightened. For I have heard, from the Lord, the God of hosts, about the consummation and the abridgement concerning the entire earth.
23 Prestate orecchio e ascoltate la mia voce, state attenti e udite il mio ragionamento.	23 Pay close attention, and listen to my voice! Attend and hear my eloquence!
24 Forsechè per seminare, l'aratore tutta la giornata arerà dissodando e fendendo il suo terreno?	24 Would the plowman, after plowing all day so that he may sow, instead cut open and hoe his soil?
25 Agguagliata che ha la superficie, non seminerà egli l'aneto e spargerà il cumino e metterà il frumento a strisce e l'orzo e il miglio e la veccia ciascuno nel sito che gli conviene?	25 Will he not, when he has made the surface level, sow coriander, and scatter cumin, and plant wheat in rows, and barley, and millet, and vetch in their places?
26 Perchè è il suo Dio che gli insegna il modo giusto di fare e che lo ammaestra.	26 For he will be instructed in judgment; his God will teach him.
27 L'aneto non si trebbierà con ordigni dentati, nè passerà col traino a ruote sopra il cumino; ma l'aneto si batterà colla verga, e il cumino colla bacchetta.	27 For coriander cannot be threshed with a saw, and a cartwheel cannot revolve over cumin. Instead, coriander is shaken out with a stick, and cumin with a staff.
28 Il grano poi si trebbierà, ma colui che trebbia non starà là continuamente a trebbiarlo, e a tormentarlo colle ruote del traino e a farlo pestare dalle unghie delle sue bestie».	28 But grain for bread must be crushed. Truly, the thresher cannot thresh it unceasingly, and the cartwheel can neither disrupt it, nor break it with its surface.
29 Or questo è ben venuto dal Signore Dio degli eserciti, per mostrare quanto mirabile è il suo consiglio e magnifico il suo ordinamento.	29 And this has gone forth from the Lord, the God of hosts, so that he may accomplish his miraculous plan and magnify justice.
