Isaia 27

1 - In quel giorno, il Signore, colla sua spada dura, grande e forte visiterà Leviathan, il serpente guizzante, Leviathan il serpente tortuoso, e ucciderà il mostro che è nel mare.	1 On that day, The LORD will punish with his sword that is cruel, great, and strong, Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the coiled serpent; and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.
2 In quel giorno: Alla vigna dal vin [generoso], si canti:	2 On that day-- The pleasant vineyard, sing about it!
3 «Sono io il Signore suo custode, ad ogni istante la irrigherò, che non vengano contro a visitarla, giorno e notte la custodisco.	3 I, the LORD, am its keeper, I water it every moment; Lest anyone harm it, night and day I guard it.
4 Ira non è in me; chi mi darà armi a lei nemiche, spine e pruni? Marcerò su di essa, la metterò a fuoco tutta intera?	4 I am not angry, but if I were to find briers and thorns, In battle I should march against them; I should burn them all.
5 O non piuttosto si terrà stretta alla mia potenza, farà pace con me, farà pace con me?».	5 Or shall he cling to me for refuge? He must make peace with me; peace shall he make with me!
6 [Nei giorni] che vengono, Giacobbe metterà radici, ed Israele rifiorirà e rigermoglierà, e riempiranno del loro seme la faccia del mondo.	6 In days to come Jacob shall take root, Israel shall sprout and blossom, covering all the world with fruit.
7 Lo ha forse maltrattato coi maltrattamenti inflitti a chi lo maltrattava? O fu fatto morire come fece morire quei che lo mettevano a morte?	7 Is he to be smitten as his smiter was smitten? or slain as his slayer was slain?
8 In misura rimisurata la punirai gettandola nell'esilio; meditò di travolgerla nel suo soffio impetuoso con una giornata di vento sciroccale.	8 Expunging and expelling, I should strive against them, carrying them off with my cruel wind in time of storm.
9 Però con questo sarà rimessa l'iniquità alla casa di Giacobbe, e tutto il frutto sarà questo, che il peccato di Israele sia tolto via; quando Dio avrà ridotto tutte le pietre dell'altare in polvere come pietre da calce; non sorgeranno più mai nè boschi, nè are.	9 This, then, shall be the expiation of Jacob's guilt, this the whole fruit of the removal of his sin: He shall pulverize all the stones of the altars like pieces of chalk; no sacred poles or incense altars shall stand.
10 Perchè la città forte sarà desolata, quella amena sarà nell'abbandono e lasciata come un deserto: ivi pascerà il vitello, ivi si sdraierà e brucherà le punte dei suoi arboscelli.	10 For the fortified city shall be desolate, an abandoned pasture, a forsaken wilderness, where calves shall browse and lie. Its boughs shall be destroyed,
11 Le sue mèssi dal secco saranno guastate, le donne verranno ad abbruciarle perchè non è un popolo che capisce, e perciò colui che lo fece non ne avrà misericordia, colui che lo formò non gli perdonerà.	11 its branches shall wither and be broken off, and women shall come to build a fire with them. This is not an understanding people; therefore their maker shall not spare them, nor shall he who formed them have mercy on them.
12 E avverrà in quel giorno che il Signore farà l'abbacchiatura dall'alveo del Fiume fino al Torrente di Egitto; e voi sarete raccolti uno ad uno, o figli d'Israele.	12 On that day, The LORD shall beat out the grain between the Euphrates and the Wadi of Egypt, and you shall be gleaned one by one, O sons of Israel.
13 Giorno verrà, che si sonerà con una gran tromba, e quelli che erano sperduti nella terra degli Assiri e gettati nell'esilio della terra d'Egitto torneranno, e adoreranno il Signore sul monte santo in Gerusalemme.	13 On that day, A great trumpet shall blow, and the lost in the land of Assyria and the outcasts in the land of Egypt Shall come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.
