BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Vaticinio su Tiro. Urlate, o navi del mare, perchè la casa onde solevan tornare è stata devastata; la notizia è arrivata a loro dalla terra di Cetim.	1 Proclamation about Tyre: Howl, ships of Tarshish, for al has been destroyed- no more houses, no wayof getting in: the news has reached them from Kittim.
2 Ammutolite voi, che abitate l'isola, dove si affollavano i mercanti di Sidone che percorrevano il mare.	2 Be struck dumb, inhabitants of the coast, you merchants of Sidon, whose messengers cross the sea
3 Il prodotto delle estese irrigazioni del Nilo, i raccolti del fiume erano le sue entrate; essa era diventata l'emporio delle genti.	3 to the wide ocean. The grain of the Canal, the harvest of the Nile, formed her revenue. She was themarket for the nations.
4 Quale vergogna per te, o Sidone! che il mare, la rocca del mare, debba dire: «Non ho più concepito, non partorito, non cresciuto giovani, e non ho più allevato fanciulle».	4 Blush, Sidon (citadel of the seas), for this is what the sea has said, 'I have felt no birth-pangs, nevergiven birth, never reared boys nor brought up girls.'
5 Quando lo si saprà in Egitto, saranno nelle ambasce sulla sorte di Tiro.	5 When the news reaches Egypt, they wil tremble to hear Tyre's fate.
6 Passate oltre mare, stridete, o abitatori dell'isola!	6 Cross to Tarshish, howl, inhabitants of the coast.
7 Non è forse la vostra, questa città, un tempo tanto celebre per la sua antichità? I suoi piedi la condurranno a peregrinare lontano.	7 Is this your proud city founded far back in the past, whose steps led her far afield to found her colonies?
8 Chi ha escogitato questo contro Tiro, un tempo incoronata, i cui mercanti erano principi, i cui negozianti erano i più rinomati della terra?	8 Who took this decision against Tyre, who used to hand out crowns, whose traders were princes, whose merchants, men honoured in the city?
9 Il Signore degli eserciti ha escogitato questo, per distruggere l'orgoglio di tutta la gloria, e travolgere nell'ignominia tutti i rinomati della terra.	9 Yahweh Sabaoth took this decision to wither the pride of al beauty and humiliate those honoured in thecity.
10 Passa, come una fiumana al di là della tua terra, o figlia del mare, tu non hai più zona nè cintura.	10 Cultivate your country like the Delta, daughter of Tarshish, for your marine docks are no more.
11 Egli ha steso la mano sopra il mare, ha sconvolto i regni: il Signore ha emanato un decreto contro Canaan per distruggere i suoi propugnacoli,	11 He has raised his hand against the sea, he has shaken kingdoms, Yahweh has ordained thedestruction of the fortresses of Canaan.
12 e disse: «Tu non continuerai più a vantarti, quando sarai sotto l'oppressione, o vergine figlia di Sidone; alzati, passa in Cetim oltre il mare: quivi pure non avrai riposo».	12 He has said, 'Exult no more, il -treated virgin daughter of Sidon! Get up, cross to Kittim, no respite foryou there, either.'
13 Ecco la terra dei Caldei; questo popolo che non c'era e che Assur fondò, ebbe il nerbo dei suoi tradotto in ischiavitù, atterrate le sue case, e ridotta la città in rovina.	13 Look at the land of the Chaldaeans, a people who used not to exist! Assyria assigned it to thecreatures of the wilds; they raised their siege-towers against it, demolished its bastions, reduced it to ruin.
14 Urlate, o navi del mare, perchè la vostra fortezza è stata devastata!	14 Howl, ships of Tarshish, for your fortress has been destroyed.
15 E in quel giorno sarai dimenticata, o Tiro, settant'anni, quanto è la vita d'un re; e dopo settanta anni avverrà di Tiro come canta la canzone della cortigiana:	15 When that day comes, Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years, the length of one king's life. But whenthe seventy years are over, Tyre wil become like the whore in the song:
16 «Prendi la cetra gira la cittàcortigiana dimenticata, canta bene, ricanta la canzone, affinchè si ricordino di te!»	16 'Take your harp, walk the town, whore whom men have forgotten! Play sweetly, song after song, tomake them remember you.'
17 E dopo settant'anni il Signore visiterà Tiro, e la lascerà ritornare al suo mercimonio, ed essa si presterà alle voglie di tutti i regni dell'universo che sono sulla faccia della terra.	17 At the end of the seventy years Yahweh wil visit Tyre. She wil receive her pay again and play thewhore with al the kingdoms of the world on the surface of the earth.
18 E i suoi guadagni, e le sue mercedi saranno consacrati al Signore e non saranno riposti nè tenuti in riserva: perchè il suo guadagno sarà devoluto a quelli che staranno dinanzi al Signore, affinchè mangino a sazietà e vestano panni di durata.	18 But her profits and wages wil be dedicated to Yahweh. They will not be stored or hoarded, but herprofits wil go to those who live in Yahweh's presence, for them to have as much food as they want and splendidclothes.
