1 Carme. Di David. Custodiscimi, o Dio, perché mi rifugio in te!	1 [In a quiet voice Of David] Protect me, O God, in you is my refuge.
2 Dichiaro a Jahvè: «Mio Signore tu sei; il mio bene non è fuori di te».	2 To Yahweh I say, 'You are my Lord, my happiness is in none
3 Quanto ai santi che sono nel paese, tutto il mio diletto è in essi. Ma i potenti moltiplichino pure i loro idoli, indietro si affrettano.	3 of the sacred spirits of the earth.' They only take advantage of al who love them.
4 Non verserò le loro libazioni di sangue e non porterò i loro nomi alle mie labbra.	4 People flock to their teeming idols. Never shal I pour libations to them! Never take their names on mylips.
5 Jahvè, tu sei la porzione del mio possesso e il mio calice, tu sei il detentore della mia sorte.	5 My birthright, my cup is Yahweh; you, you alone, hold my lot secure.
6 Le corde caddero per me in luogo ameno; sì, la mia parte mi è cara.	6 The measuring-line marks out for me a delightful place, my birthright is al I could wish.
7 Benedirò Jahvè che mi consigliò; sì, nelle ore notturne mi ammoniscono i miei reni.	7 I bless Yahweh who is my counsel or, even at night my heart instructs me.
8 Tenni sempre Jahvè davanti agli occhi e siccome è alla mia destra, non vacillerò!	8 I keep Yahweh before me always, for with him at my right hand, nothing can shake me.
9 Perciò si rallegra il mio cuore ed esulta il mio intimo; sì, la mia carne riposa tranquilla.	9 So my heart rejoices, my soul delights, my body too wil rest secure,
10 Perché non abbandonerai la mia anima allo Sheol, non farai che il tuo fedele veda la corruzione.	10 for you wil not abandon me to Sheol, you cannot al ow your faithful servant to see the abyss.
11 Tu mi mostri il sentiero della vita, pienezza di gioia al tuo cospetto, delizie alla tua destra in eterno!	11 You wil teach me the path of life, unbounded joy in your presence, at your right hand delight for ever.
