1 No hagas mal, y el mal no te dominará,	1 Do no evil, and evil will not overtake you;
2 sepárate del injusto, y él se alejará de ti.	2 avoid wickedness, and it will turn aside from you.
3 No siempres, hijo, en surcos de injusticia, no sea que coseches siete veces más.	3 Sow not in the furrows of injustice, lest you harvest it sevenfold.
4 No pidas al Señor la preeminencia, ni al rey silla de gloria.	4 Seek not from the LORD authority, nor from the king a place of honor.
5 No te hagas el justo delante del Señor, ante el rey no te las des de sabio.	5 Parade not your justice before the Lord, and before the king flaunt not your wisdom.
6 No te empeñes en llegar a ser juez, no sea que no puedas extirpar la injusticia, o te dejes influir del poderoso, y pongas un tropiezo en tu entereza.	6 Seek not to become a judge if you have not strength to root out crime, Or you will show favor to the ruler and mar your integrity.
7 No peques contra la asamblea de la ciudad, ni te rebajes a ti mismo ante el pueblo.	7 Be guilty of no evil before the city's populace, nor disgrace yourself before the assembly.
8 En el pecado no te enredes dos veces, pues ni una sola quedarás impune.	8 Do not plot to repeat a sin; not even for one will you go unpunished.
9 No digas: «Pondrá él sus ojos en la abundancia de mis dones, cuando se los presente al Dios Altísimo, los aceptará».	9 Say not: "He will appreciate my many gifts; the Most High will accept my offerings."
10 No seas en tu plegaria pusilánime, y hacer limosna no descuides.	10 Be not impatient in prayers, and neglect not the giving of alms.
11 No te burles del hombre que vive en aflicción, porque el que humilla, también exalta.	11 Laugh not at an embittered man; be mindful of him who exalts and humbles.
12 No trames mentira contra tu hermano ni hagas otro tanto con tu amigo.	12 Plot no mischief against your brother, nor against your friend and companion.
13 Propónte no decir mentira alguna, que persistir en ello no lleva a nada bueno.	13 Delight not in telling lie after lie, for it never results in good.
14 No seas hablador en la reunión de los ancianos, en tu plegaria no repitas palabras.	14 Thrust not yourself into the deliberations of princes, and repeat not the words of your prayer.
15 No rehúyas el trabajo penoso, ni la labor del campo que creó el Altísimo.	15 Hate not laborious tasks, nor farming, which was ordained by the Most High.
16 No te incluyas en el grupo de los pecadores, recuerda que la Cólera no se hará esperar.	16 Do not esteem yourself better than your fellows; remember, his wrath will not delay.
17 Humilla hondamente tu alma, que el castigo del impío es fuego y gusanos.	17 More and more, humble your pride; what awaits man is worms.
18 No cambies un amigo por dinero, ni un hermano de veras por el oro de Ofir.	18 Barter not a friend for money, nor a dear brother for the gold of Ophir.
19 No faltes a la mujer sabia y buena, que su gracia vale más que el oro.	19 Dismiss not a sensible wife; a gracious wife is more precious than corals.
20 No maltrates al criado que trabaja fielmente, ni al jornalero que pone su empeño.	20 Mistreat not a servant who faithfully serves, nor a laborer who devotes himself to his task.
21 Al criado prudente ame tu alma, y no le prives de la libertad.	21 Let a wise servant be dear to you as your own self; refuse him not his freedom.
22 ¿Tienes rebaños? Pásales revista; y si te dan ganancia, consérvalos.	22 If you have livestock, look after them; if they are dependable, keep them.
23 ¿Tienes hijos? Adoctrínalos, doblega su cerviz desde su juventud.	23 If you have sons, chastise them; bend their necks from childhood.
24 ¿Tienes hijas? Cuídate de ellas, y no pongas ante ellas cara muy risueña.	24 If you have daughters, keep them chaste, and be not indulgent to them.
25 Casa a tu hija y habrás hecho una gran cosa, pero dásela a un hombre prudente.	25 Giving your daughter in marriage ends a great task; but give her to a worthy man.
26 ¿Tienes una mujer que te gusta? No la despidas, pero si la aborreces, no te confíes a ella.	26 If you have a wife, let her not seem odious to you; but where there is ill-feeling, trust her not.
27 Con todo tu corazón honra a tu padre, y no olvides los dolores de tu madre.	27 With your whole heart honor your father; your mother's birthpangs forget not.
28 Recuerda que por ellos has nacido, ¿cómo les pagarás lo que contigo han hecho?	28 Remember, of these parents you were born; what can you give them for all they gave you?
29 Con toda tu alma reverencia al Señor, y venera a sus sacerdotes.	29 With all your soul, fear God, revere his priests.
30 Con todas tus fuerzas ama al que te hizo, y a sus ministros no abandones.	30 With all your strength, love your Creator, forsake not his ministers.
31 Teme al Señor y honra el sacerdote, dale su porción como te está prescrito: primicias, sacrificios de reparación, pierna de las ofrendas, oblación de santidad y primicias de las cosas sagradas.	31 Honor God and respect the priest; give him his portion as you have been commanded: First fruits and contributions, due sacrifices and holy offerings.
32 También al pobre tiéndele tu mano, para que tu bendición sea perfecta.	32 To the poor man also extend your hand, that your blessing may be complete;
33 La gracia de tu dádiva llegue a todo viviente, ni siquiera a los muertos les rehúses tu gracia.	33 Be generous to all the living, and withhold not your kindness from the dead.
34 No te rezagues ante los que lloran, y con los afligidos muéstrate afligido.	34 Avoid not those who weep, but mourn with those who mourn;
35 No descuides visitar al enfermo, que por obras de éstas ganarás amor.	35 Neglect not to visit the sick-- for these things you will be loved.
36 En todas tus acciones ten presente tu fin, y jamás cometerás pecado.	36 In whatever you do, remember your last days, and you will never sin.
