1 [Für den Chormeister. Nach dem Kelterlied. Ein Psalm der Korachiter.]	1 [For the choirmaster On the . . . of Gath Of the sons of Korah Psalm] How lovely are your dwel ing-places, Yahweh Sabaoth.
2 Wie liebenswert ist deine Wohnung, Herr der Heerscharen!	2 My whole being yearns and pines for Yahweh's courts, My heart and my body cry out for joy to theliving God.
3 Meine Seele verzehrt sich in Sehnsucht nach dem Tempel des Herrn. Mein Herz und mein Leib jauchzen ihm zu, ihm, dem lebendigen Gott.	3 Even the sparrow has found a home, the swal ow a nest to place its young: your altars, YahwehSabaoth, my King and my God.
4 Auch der Sperling findet ein Haus und die Schwalbe ein Nest für ihre Jungen - deine Altäre, Herr der Heerscharen, mein Gott und mein König.	4 How blessed are those who live in your house; they shall praise you continual y. Pause
5 Wohl denen, die wohnen in deinem Haus, die dich allezeit loben. [Sela]	5 Blessed those who find their strength in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
6 Wohl den Menschen, die Kraft finden in dir, wenn sie sich zur Wallfahrt rüsten.	6 As they pass through the Val ey of the Balsam, they make there a water-hole, and -- a further blessing-- early rain fil s it.
7 Ziehen sie durch das trostlose Tal, wird es für sie zum Quellgrund und Frühregen hüllt es in Segen.	7 They make their way from height to height, God shows himself to them in Zion.
8 Sie schreiten dahin mit wachsender Kraft; dann schauen sie Gott auf dem Zion.	8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, hear my prayer, listen, God of Jacob.
9 Herr der Heerscharen, höre mein Beten, vernimm es, Gott Jakobs! [Sela]	9 God, our shield, look, and see the face of your anointed.
10 Gott, sieh her auf unsern Schild, schau auf das Antlitz deines Gesalbten!	10 Better one day in your courts than a thousand at my own devices, to stand on the threshold of God'shouse than to live in the tents of the wicked.
11 Denn ein einziger Tag in den Vorhöfen deines Heiligtums ist besser als tausend andere.Lieber an der Schwelle stehen im Haus meines Gottes als wohnen in den Zelten der Frevler.	11 For Yahweh God is a rampart and shield, he gives grace and glory; Yahweh refuses nothing good tothose whose life is blameless.
12 Denn Gott der Herr ist Sonne und Schild. Er schenkt Gnade und Herrlichkeit; der Herr versagt denen, die rechtschaffen sind, keine Gabe.	12 Yahweh Sabaoth, blessed is he who trusts in you.
13 Herr der Heerscharen, wohl dem, der dir vertraut!
