2 Gott gab sich zu erkennen in Juda, sein Name ist groß in Israel.	2 Renowned in Judah is God, whose name is great in Israel.
3 Sein Zelt erstand in Salem, seine Wohnung auf dem Zion.	3 On Salem is God's tent, a shelter on Zion.
4 Dort zerbrach er die blitzenden Pfeile des Bogens, Schild und Schwert, die Waffen des Krieges. [Sela]	4 There the flashing arrows were shattered, shield, sword, and weapons of war. Selah
5 Du bist furchtbar und herrlich, mehr als die ewigen Berge.	5 Terrible and awesome are you, stronger than the ancient mountains.
6 Ausgeplündert sind die tapferen Streiter, sie sinken hin in den Schlaf; allen Helden versagen die Hände.	6 Despoiled are the bold warriors; they sleep their final sleep; the hands of all the mighty have failed.
7 Wenn du drohst, Gott Jakobs, erstarren Rosse und Wagen.	7 At your roar, O God of Jacob, chariots and steeds lay still.
8 Furchtbar bist du. Wer kann bestehen vor dir, vor der Gewalt deines Zornes?	8 So terrible and awesome are you; who can stand before you and your great anger?
9 Vom Himmel her machst du das Urteil bekannt; Furcht packt die Erde, und sie verstummt,	9 From the heavens you pronounced sentence; the earth was terrified and reduced to silence,
10 wenn Gott sich erhebt zum Gericht, um allen Gebeugten auf der Erde zu helfen. [Sela]	10 When you arose, O God, for judgment to deliver the afflicted of the land. Selah
11 Denn auch der Mensch voll Trotz muss dich preisen und der Rest der Völker dich feiern.	11 Even wrathful Edom praises you; the remnant of Hamath keeps your feast.
12 Legt Gelübde ab und erfüllt sie dem Herrn, eurem Gott! Ihr alle ringsum, bringt Gaben ihm, den ihr fürchtet.	12 Make and keep vows to the LORD your God. May all present bring gifts to this awesome God,
13 Er nimmt den Fürsten den Mut; Furcht erregend ist er für die Könige der Erde.	13 Who checks the pride of princes, inspires awe among the kings of earth.
