18 La nascita di Gesù Cristo fu in questo modo. 21 Ella partorirà un figliuolo, cui tu porrai nome Gesù; imperocché ei sarà, che libererà il suo popolo da' suoi peccati.	21 She wil give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save hispeople from their sins.'
22 Tutto questo segui, affinchè si adempisse, quanto era stato detto dal Signore per mezzo del Profeta, che dice:	22 Now al this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:
23 Ecco che la Vergine sarà gravida: e partorirà un figliuolo, e lo chiameranno per nome Emanuele: che interpretato significa Dio con noi.	23 Look! the virgin is with child and will give birth to a son whom they wil cal Immanuel, a name whichmeans 'God-is-with-us'.
24 Risvegliatosi adunque Giuseppe dal sonno, fece come ordinato gli avea l'Angelo del Signore, e prese con seco la sua consorte.	24 When Joseph woke up he did what the angel of the Lord had told him to do: he took his wife to hishome;
25 Ed egli non la conosceva, sino aquando partorì il suo figliuolo primogenito, e chiamollo per nome Gesù.	25 he had not had intercourse with her when she gave birth to a son; and he named him Jesus.
