1 (Salmo di David in occasione della sua fuga davanti al suo figlio Assalonne).	1 A Psalm of David. When he fled from the face of his son, Absalom.
2 Signore, come mai si sonomoltiplicati quelli che mi perseguitano? Molti insorgono controdi me.	2 Lord, why have those who trouble me been multiplied? Many rise up against me.
3 Molti dicono all'anima mia: « Non c'è più scampo per lui nel suo Dio ».	3 Many say to my soul, “There is no salvation for him in his God.”
4 Ma tu, o Signore, sei la mia difesa, la mia gloria,tu mi fai rialzare il capo.	4 But you, Lord, are my supporter, my glory, and the one who raises up my head.
5 Ad alte grida invoco il Signore ed egli m'esaudisce dal suo monte santo.	5 I have cried out to the Lord with my voice, and he has heard me from his holy mountain.
6 Mi coricai e dormii, mi son risvegliato, perchè il Signore mi ha protetto.	6 I have slept, and I have been stupefied. But I awakened because the Lord has taken me up.
7 Non ho paura delle migliaia di gente che da ogni parte mi assediano: levati, o Signore, saivami, o mio Dio.	7 I will not fear the thousands of people surrounding me. Rise up, Lord. Save me, my God.
8 Sei tu che percuoti tutti i miei ingiusti avversari, e spezzi i denti ai peccatori.	8 For you have struck all those who oppose me without cause. You have broken the teeth of sinners.
9 Dal Signore viene la salvezza: venga sul tuo popolo la tua benedizione.	9 Salvation is of the Lord, and your blessing is upon your people.
