1 (Salmo di David in occasione della sua fuga davanti al suo figlio Assalonne).	1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2 Signore, come mai si sonomoltiplicati quelli che mi perseguitano? Molti insorgono controdi me.	2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3 Molti dicono all'anima mia: « Non c'è più scampo per lui nel suo Dio ».	3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4 Ma tu, o Signore, sei la mia difesa, la mia gloria,tu mi fai rialzare il capo.	4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
5 Ad alte grida invoco il Signore ed egli m'esaudisce dal suo monte santo.	5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
6 Mi coricai e dormii, mi son risvegliato, perchè il Signore mi ha protetto.	6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Non ho paura delle migliaia di gente che da ogni parte mi assediano: levati, o Signore, saivami, o mio Dio.	7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Sei tu che percuoti tutti i miei ingiusti avversari, e spezzi i denti ai peccatori.	8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
9 Dal Signore viene la salvezza: venga sul tuo popolo la tua benedizione.
