1 Perchè si agitano le genti e i popoli meditan vani disegni?	1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 Sono insorti i re della terra, i principi cospirano insieme contro il Signore e contro il suo Cristo.	2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 « Spezziamo le loro catene, gettiamo lungi da noi il loro giogo ».	3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 Colui che sta. nei cieli si ride di loro, e il Signore li schernisce.	4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Poi parla ad essi nella sua ira, e li atterrisce nel suo furore.	5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Ma io da lui sono stato costituito re sopra Sionne sua montagna santa, ad annunziare il suo decreto.	6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 Il Signore mi ha detto: « Tu sei il mio Figliolo: oggi ti ho generato.	7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Chiedimi, e ti darò in retaggio i popoli, e in tuo dominio gli ultimi confini della terra.	8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Li governerai con verga di ferro, li stritolerai come vaso d'argilla ».	9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Ed ora, o re, mettete giudizio, imparate, o giudici della terra.	10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Servite al Signore con timore, ed a lui fate festa con tremore.	11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Abbraccia te la disciplina, chè non s'adiri il Signore, e voi non vi perdiate fuori della retta via.	12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
13 Quando ad un tratto divamperà l'ira sua, beati tutti coloro che confidano in Lui.
