1 - Salmo di David: quando era nel deserto dell'Idumea.	1 For the leader; al Jeduthun. A psalm of David.
2 Dio, Dio mio, sin dall'alba io ti cerco: è assetata di te l'anima mia, ed oh! quanto [anela] a te la mia carne	2 My soul rests in God alone, from whom comes my salvation.
3 in [questa] terra deserta, impraticabile e senz'acqua! Così [anelando, un tempo] a te mi presentavo nel tempio, per contemplar la tua potenza e la tua gloria.	3 God alone is my rock and salvation, my secure height; I shall never fall.
4 Poichè la tua grazia val meglio della vita, le mie labbra ti loderanno!	4 How long will you set upon people, all of you beating them down, As though they were a sagging fence or a battered wall?
5 Così ti benedirò nella mia vita, e nel tuo nome solleverò le mie mani.	5 Even from my place on high they plot to dislodge me. They delight in lies; they bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah
6 Quasi di grasso e di midollo si sazierà l'anima mia, e con labbra esultanti [ti] loderà la mia bocca.	6 My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope.
7 Sì, mi son ricordato di te sul mio giaciglio, nelle veglie io ripenso a te!	7 God alone is my rock and my salvation, my secure height; I shall not fall.
8 Perchè tu sei il mio aiutoe all'ombra delle tue ali esulto;	8 My safety and glory are with God, my strong rock and refuge.
9 s'è attaccata a te l'anima mia, e mi sostiene la tua destra!	9 Trust God at all times, my people! Pour out your hearts to God our refuge! Selah
10 E invano essi insidian la mia vita: se n'andranno qui nelle viscere della terra.	10 Mortals are a mere breath, the powerful but an illusion; On a balance they rise; together they are lighter than air.
11 Saranno abbandonati in poter della spada, preda saran di sciacalli.	11 Do not trust in extortion; in plunder put no empty hope. Though wealth increase, do not set your heart upon it.
12 Ma il re si rallegrerà in Dio; si glorieranno quanti giurano per lui, perchè sarà tappata la bocca di chi iniquamente parla.	12 One thing God has said; two things I have heard: Power belongs to God;
	13 3) so too, Lord, does kindness, And you render to each of us according to our deeds.
