1 Per il capocoro. Dei figli di Korakh, Salmo.	1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Hear this, all nations, listen, al who dwel on earth,
2 Udite, popoli tutti; ascoltate voi tutti, abitanti del mondo!	2 people high and low, rich and poor alike!
3 Anche voi, figli del volgo, e voi, figli di nobili, ricco e povero insieme!	3 My lips have wisdom to utter, my heart good sense to whisper.
4 La mia bocca parlerà sapienza e il meditar del mio cuore intelligenza.	4 I listen careful y to a proverb, I set my riddle to the music of the harp.
5 Piegherò al proverbio il mio orecchio, aprirò sull’arpa il mio enigma.	5 Why should I be afraid in times of trouble? Malice dogs me and hems me in.
6 Perchè dovrò temere nei giorni cattivi quando l’iniquità dei miei traditori mi avvolge!	6 They trust in their wealth, and boast of the profusion of their riches.
7 I quali confidano nella loro sostanza e della loro grande ricchezza si vantano!	7 But no one can ever redeem himself or pay his own ransom to God,
8 Per certo non si libera l’uomo, non può dare a Dio il suo riscatto.	8 the price for himself is too high; it can never be
9 Anche se rincara il prezzo della sua vita da non cessare in eterno,	9 that he wil live on for ever and avoid the sight of the abyss.
10 vivrà forse ancora per sempre, non vedrà la fossa?	10 For he wil see the wise also die no less than the fool and the brute, and leave their wealth behind forothers.
11 Poichè, vedi, anche i sapienti muoiono; lo sciocco e lo stolto insieme periscono e lasciano ad altri le loro sostanze.	11 For ever no home but their tombs, their dwel ing-place age after age, though they gave their name towhole territories.
12 Le loro case sono sepolcri in eterno, le loro abitazioni di generazione in generazione, eppure avevano dato il loro nome a interi paesi.	12 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
13 Ma l’uomo non permane in onore; si assimila al bestiame che perisce.	13 So they go on in their self-assurance, right up to the end they are content with their lot.Pause
14 Tale è la via per coloro che hanno fiducia, la fine di coloro che si compiacciono nei loro vanti.	14 They are penned in Sheol like sheep, Death wil lead them to pasture, and those who are honest wilrule over them. In the morning al trace of them wil be gone, Sheol wil be their home.
15 Sono destinati come gregge allo Sheol, la morte li pasce e li domina. Dritto al sepolcro è il loro correre, a consumare nello Sheol la loro nullità.	15 But my soul God wil ransom from the clutches of Sheol, and wil snatch me up.Pause
16 Certo Dio redimerà la mia anima; dalle unghie dello Sheol, sì, mi scamperà.	16 Do not be overawed when someone gets rich, and lives in ever greater splendour;
17 Non temere perchè qualcuno si arricchisce, perchè aumenta la pompa della sua casa,	17 when he dies he wil take nothing with him, his wealth wil not go down with him.
18 poichè morendo nulla porterà con sè; non scenderà dietro di lui la sua pompa.	18 Though he pampered himself while he lived -- and people praise you for looking after yourself-
19 Per quanto in vita si congratulasse tra di sè e ti lodasse per il buon trattamento,	19 he will go to join the ranks of his ancestors, who wil never again see the light.
20 verrà nondimeno alla generazione dei suoi padri, che mai vedranno la luce.	20 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
21 L’uomo non permane in onore; si assimila al bestiame che perisce.
