Psalmen 78

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 [Ein Weisheitslied Asafs.] Mein Volk, vernimm meine Weisung! Wendet euer Ohr zu den Worten meines Mundes!	1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 Ich öffne meinen Mund zu einem Spruch; ich will die Geheimnisse der Vorzeit verkünden.	2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
3 Was wir hörten und erfuhren, was uns die Väter erzählten,	3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
4 das wollen wir unseren Kindern nicht verbergen, sondern dem kommenden Geschlecht erzählen: die ruhmreichen Taten und die Stärke des Herrn, die Wunder, die er getan hat.	4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
5 Er stellte sein Gesetz auf in Jakob, gab in Israel Weisung und gebot unseren Vätern, ihre Kinder das alles zu lehren,	5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
6 damit das kommende Geschlecht davon erfahre, die Kinder späterer Zeiten; sie sollten aufstehen und es weitergeben an ihre Kinder,	6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
7 damit sie ihr Vertrauen auf Gott setzen, die Taten Gottes nicht vergessen und seine Gebote bewahren	7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
8 und nicht werden wie ihre Väter, jenes Geschlecht voll Trotz und Empörung, das wankelmütige Geschlecht, dessen Geist nicht treu zu Gott hielt.	8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
9 Die Söhne Efraims, Kämpfer mit Pfeil und Bogen, wandten den Rücken am Tag der Schlacht;	9 The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
10 Gottes Bund hielten sie nicht, sie weigerten sich, seiner Weisung zu folgen.	10 They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
11 Sie vergaßen die Taten des Herrn, die Wunder, die er sie sehen ließ.	11 And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.
12 Vor den Augen ihrer Väter vollbrachte er Wunder im Land Ägypten, im Gefilde von Zoan.	12 Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13 Er spaltete das Meer und führte sie hindurch, er ließ das Wasser fest stehen wie einen Damm.	13 He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.
14 Er leitete sie bei Tag mit der Wolke und die ganze Nacht mit leuchtendem Feuer.	14 In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.
15 Er spaltete Felsen in der Wüste und gab dem Volk reichlich zu trinken wie mit Wassern der Urflut.	15 He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
16 Er ließ Bäche aus dem Gestein entspringen, ließ Wasser fließen gleich Strömen.	16 He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
17 Doch sie sündigten weiter gegen ihn, sie trotzten in der Wüste dem Höchsten.	17 And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.
18 In ihrem Herzen versuchten sie Gott, forderten Nahrung für den Hunger.	18 And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.
19 Sie redeten gegen Gott; sie fragten: «Kann uns denn Gott den Tisch decken in der Wüste?	19 Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
20 Zwar hat er an den Felsen geschlagen, sodass Wasser floss und Bäche strömten. Kann er uns auch Brot verschaffen und sein Volk mit Fleisch versorgen?»	20 Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?
21 Das hörte der Herr und war voll Grimm; Feuer flammte auf gegen Jakob, Zorn erhob sich gegen Israel,	21 Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;
22 weil sie Gott nicht glaubten und nicht auf seine Hilfe vertrauten.	22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:
23 Dennoch gebot er den Wolken droben und öffnete die Tore des Himmels.	23 Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,
24 Er ließ Manna auf sie regnen als Speise, er gab ihnen Brot vom Himmel.	24 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.
25 Da aßen die Menschen Wunderbrot; Gott gab ihnen Nahrung in Fülle.	25 Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.
26 Er ließ den Ostwind losbrechen droben am Himmel, führte in seiner Macht den Südwind herbei,	26 He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.
27 ließ Fleisch auf sie regnen wie Staub, gefiederte Vögel wie Sand am Meer.	27 He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:
28 Er ließ sie mitten ins Lager fallen, rings um Israels Zelte.	28 And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.
29 Da aßen alle und wurden satt; er hatte ihnen gebracht, was sie begehrten.	29 So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;
30 Noch aber hatten sie ihre Gier nicht gestillt, noch war die Speise in ihrem Mund,	30 They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,
31 da erhob sich gegen sie Gottes Zorn; er erschlug ihre Führer und streckte die jungen Männer Israels nieder.	31 The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.
32 Doch sie sündigten trotz allem weiter und vertrauten nicht seinen Wundern.	32 For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.
33 Darum ließ er ihre Tage schwinden wie einen Hauch und ihre Jahre voll Schrecken vergehen.	33 Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.
34 Wenn er dreinschlug, fragten sie nach Gott, kehrten um und suchten ihn.	34 When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after God.
35 Sie dachten daran, dass Gott ihr Fels ist, Gott, der Höchste, ihr Erlöser.	35 And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
36 Doch sie täuschten ihn mit falschen Worten und ihre Zunge belog ihn.	36 Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.
37 Ihr Herz hielt nicht fest zu ihm, sie hielten seinem Bund nicht die Treue.	37 For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.
38 Er aber vergab ihnen voll Erbarmen die Schuld und tilgte sein Volk nicht aus. Oftmals ließ er ab von seinem Zorn und unterdrückte seinen Groll.	38 But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
39 Denn er dachte daran, dass sie nichts sind als Fleisch, nur ein Hauch, der vergeht und nicht wiederkehrt.	39 For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.
40 Wie oft haben sie ihm in der Wüste getrotzt, ihn gekränkt in der Steppe!	40 How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!
41 Immer wieder stellten sie ihn auf die Probe, sie reizten den heiligen Gott Israels.	41 Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.
42 Sie dachten nicht mehr an seine mächtige Hand, an den Tag, als er sie vom Unterdrücker befreite,	42 They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.
43 als er in Ägypten Zeichen tat und Wunder im Gefilde von Zoan:	43 How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan:
44 Er verwandelte ihre Flüsse und Bäche in Blut; sie konnten daraus nicht mehr trinken.	44 And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink.
45 Er schickte einen Schwarm von Fliegen, der fraß sie auf, ein Heer von Fröschen, das vertilgte sie.	45 He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
46 Ihre Ernte überließ er den Grillen und den Heuschrecken den Ertrag ihrer Mühen.	46 He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust.
47 Ihre Reben zerschlug er mit Hagel, ihre Maulbeerbäume mit Körnern aus Eis.	47 He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.
48 Ihr Vieh überließ er der Pest und ihre Herden den Seuchen.	48 He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
49 Er ließ die Glut seines Zorns auf sie los: Grimm und Wut und Bedrängnis, Boten des Unheils in Scharen.	49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.
50 Er ließ seinem Zorn freien Lauf; er bewahrte sie nicht vor dem Tod und lieferte ihr Leben der Pest aus.	50 He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;
51 Er schlug in Ägypten alle Erstgeburt, in den Zelten Hams die Blüte der Jugend.	51 And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:
52 Dann führte er sein Volk hinaus wie Schafe, leitete sie wie eine Herde durch die Wüste.	52 But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
53 Er führte sie sicher, sie mussten nichts fürchten, doch ihre Feinde bedeckte das Meer.	53 And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54 Er brachte sie in sein heiliges Land, in die Berge, die er erwarb mit mächtiger Hand.	54 And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.
55 Er vertrieb die Völker vor ihnen, ließ in ihren Zelten die Stämme Israels wohnen und teilte ihnen ihr Erbteil zu.	55 He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
56 Doch sie versuchten Gott und trotzten dem Höchsten; sie hielten seine Satzungen nicht.	56 Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
57 Wie ihre Väter fielen sie treulos von ihm ab, sie wandten sich ab wie ein Bogen, der versagt.	57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
58 Sie erbitterten ihn mit ihrem Kult auf den Höhen und reizten seine Eifersucht mit ihren Götzen.	58 For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
59 Als Gott es sah, war er voll Grimm und sagte sich los von Israel.	59 When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:
60 Er verwarf seine Wohnung in Schilo, das Zelt, wo er unter den Menschen wohnte.	60 So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;
61 Er gab seine Macht in Gefangenschaft, seine heilige Lade fiel in die Hand des Feindes.	61 And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand.
62 Er lieferte sein Volk dem Schwert aus; er war voll Grimm über sein Eigentum.	62 He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance.
63 Die jungen Männer fraß das Feuer; den jungen Mädchen sang man kein Brautlied.	63 The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.
64 Die Priester wurden mit dem Schwert erschlagen; die Witwen konnten die Toten nicht beweinen.	64 Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.
65 Da erwachte der Herr wie aus dem Schlaf, wie ein Held, der betäubt war vom Wein.	65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
66 Er schlug seine Feinde zurück und gab sie ewiger Schande preis.	66 And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.
67 Das Zelt Josefs verwarf er, dem Stamm Efraim entzog er die Erwählung.	67 Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:
68 Doch den Stamm Juda erwählte er, den Berg Zion, den er liebt.	68 But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.
69 Dort baute er sein hoch aufragendes Heiligtum, so fest wie die Erde, die er für immer gegründet hat.	69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.
70 Und er erwählte seinen Knecht David; er holte ihn weg von den Hürden der Schafe,	70 He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:
71 von den Muttertieren nahm er ihn fort, damit er sein Volk Jakob weide und sein Erbe Israel.	71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
72 Er sorgte als Hirt für sie mit lauterem Herzen und führte sie mit klugen Händen.	72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
