1 [Für den Chormeister. Nach Jedutun. Ein Psalm Asafs.]	1 For the leader; al Jeduthun. A psalm of Asaph.
2 Ich rufe zu Gott, ich schreie, ich rufe zu Gott, bis er mich hört.	2 I cry aloud to God, cry to God to hear me.
3 Am Tag meiner Not suche ich den Herrn; unablässig erhebe ich nachts meine Hände, meine Seele lässt sich nicht trösten.	3 On the day of my distress I seek the Lord; by night my hands are raised unceasingly; I refuse to be consoled.
4 Denke ich an Gott, muss ich seufzen; sinne ich nach, dann will mein Geist verzagen. [Sela]	4 When I think of God, I groan; as I ponder, my spirit grows faint. Selah
5 Du lässt mich nicht mehr schlafen; ich bin voll Unruhe und kann nicht reden.	5 My eyes cannot close in sleep; I am troubled and cannot speak.
6 Ich sinne nach über die Tage von einst, ich will denken an längst vergangene Jahre.	6 I consider the days of old; the years long past
7 Mein Herz grübelt bei Nacht, ich sinne nach, es forscht mein Geist.	7 I remember. In the night I meditate in my heart; I ponder and my spirit broods:
8 Wird der Herr mich denn auf ewig verstoßen und mir niemals mehr gnädig sein?	8 "Will the Lord reject us forever, never again show favor?
9 Hat seine Huld für immer ein Ende, ist seine Verheißung aufgehoben für alle Zeiten?	9 Has God's love ceased forever? Has the promise failed for all ages?
10 Hat Gott seine Gnade vergessen, im Zorn sein Erbarmen verschlossen? [Sela]	10 Has God forgotten mercy, in anger withheld compassion?" Selah
11 Da sagte ich mir: «Das ist mein Schmerz, dass die Rechte des Höchsten so anders handelt.»	11 I conclude: "My sorrow is this, the right hand of the Most High has left us."
12 Ich denke an die Taten des Herrn, ich will denken an deine früheren Wunder.	12 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, your wonders of old I will remember.
13 Ich erwäge all deine Werke und will nachsinnen über deine Taten.	13 I will recite all your works; your exploits I will tell.
14 Gott, dein Weg ist heilig. Wo ist ein Gott, so groß wie unser Gott?	14 Your way, O God, is holy; what god is as great as our God?
15 Du allein bist der Gott, der Wunder tut, du hast deine Macht den Völkern kundgetan.	15 You alone are the God who did wonders; among the peoples you revealed your might.
16 Du hast mit starkem Arm dein Volk erlöst, die Kinder Jakobs und Josefs. [Sela]	16 With your arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
17 Die Wasser sahen dich, Gott, die Wasser sahen dich und bebten. Die Tiefen des Meeres tobten.	17 The waters saw you, God; the waters saw you and lashed about, trembled even to their depths.
18 Die Wolken gossen ihr Wasser aus, das Gewölk ließ die Stimme dröhnen, auch deine Pfeile flogen dahin.	18 The clouds poured down their rains; the thunderheads rumbled; your arrows flashed back and forth.
19 Dröhnend rollte dein Donner, Blitze erhellten den Erdkreis, die Erde bebte und wankte.	19 The thunder of your chariot wheels resounded; your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked.
20 Durch das Meer ging dein Weg, dein Pfad durch gewaltige Wasser, doch niemand sah deine Spuren.	20 Through the sea was your path; your way, through the mighty waters, though your footsteps were unseen.
21 Du führtest dein Volk wie eine Herde durch die Hand von Mose und Aaron.	21 You led your people like a flock under the care of Moses and Aaron.
