1 Als Israel aus Ägypten auszog, Jakobs Haus aus dem Volk mit fremder Sprache,	1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2 da wurde Juda Gottes Heiligtum, Israel das Gebiet seiner Herrschaft.	2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
3 Das Meer sah es und floh, der Jordan wich zurück.	3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
4 Die Berge hüpften wie Widder, die Hügel wie junge Lämmer.	4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 Was ist mit dir, Meer, dass du fliehst, und mit dir, Jordan, dass du zurückweichst?	5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 Ihr Berge, was hüpft ihr wie Widder, und ihr Hügel, wie junge Lämmer?	6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

8 der den Fels zur Wasserflut wandelt und Kieselgestein zu quellendem Wasser.	8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
