Proverbi 3

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 - Figliuolo mio, non dimenticare il mio insegnamento e il tuo cuore conservi i precetti miei,	1 My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart guard my precepts.
2 perchè lunghi giorni ed anni di vita e la pace per giunta te ne verranno.	2 For they shall set before you length of days, and years of life, and peace.
3 La misericordia e la verità non ti abbandonino; annodale al tuo collo, scrivile sulle tavole del tuo cuore,	3 Let not mercy and truth abandon you: encircle them around your throat, and inscribe them on the tablets of your heart.
4 e ti troverai in grazia ed in buon concettopresso Dio e presso gli uomini.	4 And so shall you discover grace and good discipline, in the sight of God and men.
5 Confida nel Signore con tutto il tuo cuore e non appoggiarti sulla tua prudenza;	5 Have confidence in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend upon your own prudence.
6 in ogni tuo procedere pensa a luied egli dirigerà i tuoi passi.	6 In all your ways, consider him, and he himself will direct your steps.
7 Non essere saggio ai tuoi propri occhi, temi Dio e schiva il male.	7 Do not seem wise to yourself. Fear God, and withdraw from evil.
8 Sarà questo un ristoro alle tue viscere ed un refrigerio alle tue ossa.	8 Certainly, it shall be health to your navel, and refreshment to your bones.
9 Onora Dio delle tue sostanze e dagli le primizie di tutti i tuoi frutti,	9 Honor the Lord with your substance, and give to him from the first of all your fruits,
10 e i tuoi granai saranno ripieni di cibo a sazietàe i tuoi pressoi riboccheranno di vino.	10 and then your storehouses will be filled with abundance, and your presses shall overflow with wine.
11 Figliuol mio, non rigettare la disciplina di Dio e non ti dispiaccia d'esser da lui castigato;	11 My son, do not discard the discipline of the Lord, and do not fall away when you are corrected by him.
12 perchè Dio castiga colui che ama e come un padre, del figlio suo se ne compiace.	12 For whomever the Lord loves, he corrects, and just as a father does with a son, he wins him over.
13 L'uomo che trova la sapienza e chi è fornito di prudenza, lui beato!	13 Blessed is the man who finds wisdom and who advances to prudence.
14 È miglior acquisto il suo che guadagnare argento, e rende frutto di pretto e purissimo oro;	14 Her acquisition is better than trading in silver, and her fruit is better than the first and purest gold.
15 è più preziosa di qualunque ricchezza e tutte le cose più care non la pareggiano.	15 She is more precious than all riches, and all that can be desired cannot prevail in comparison to her.
16 Tiene nella destra longevità di giorni nella sinistra ricchezze e gloria;	16 Length of days is at her right hand, and at her left hand is wealth and glory.
17 le sue vie sono vie amene, e tutti i suoi sentieri pieni di pace.	17 Her ways are beautiful ways, and all her paths are peaceful.
18 Essa è l'albero della vita per quelli che l'afferrano e chi la stringe, fortunato lui!	18 She is a tree of life to those who overtake her, and he who shall take hold of her is blessed.
19 Il Signore con la sapienza fondò la terra ed eresse i cieli con la prudenza;	19 The Lord founded the earth on wisdom. He secured the heavens with prudence.
20 per la sua sapienza scaturirono le fonti degli abissie le nubi si condensarono in rugiada.	20 By his wisdom, the abyss erupted and the clouds increased with dew.
21 Figliuolo mio, non sfuggano mai dagli occhi tuoi queste cose, fa' tesoro della legge e del consiglio,	21 My son, let not these things move away from your eyes. Preserve law as well as counsel.
22 e ciò sarà vita all'anima tua e prezioso ornamento alla tua gola.	22 And so shall there be life in your soul and grace in your voice.
23 Percorrerai così la tua strada in tutta sicurezza e il tuo piede non inciamperà.	23 Then you shall walk confidently in your way, and your feet will not stumble.
24 Se dormi, non paventerai di nulla; ti coricherai e il tuo sonno sarà saporoso.	24 When you slumber, you shall not fear. When you rest, your sleep also will be sweet.
25 Non temerai di repentino spavento, nè che ti assalga la prepotenza degli empi;	25 Do not fear unexpected terror, nor the power of the impious falling upon you.
26 perchè il Signore sarà al tuo fianco e guarderà il tuo piede affinchè tu non resti preso.	26 For the Lord will be at your side, and he will guard your feet, so that you may not be seized.
27 Non impedire di fare del bene a chi lo può, se puoi, fa' altrettanto anche tu.	27 Do not prevent him who is able from doing good. When you are able, do good yourself too.
28 Non dire al tuo amico: «Va' e torna, te la darò domani» se quella cosa la puoi dare subito.	28 Do not say to your friend: “Go away, and then return. Tomorrow I will give to you.” When you are able to do so, give in the present.
29 Non macchinar male contro il tuo amicomentre egli ha in te tutta la fiducia.	29 Do not undertake evil against your friend, even though he has trust in you.
30 Non litigare contro nessuno senza motivo, quando non t'abbia cagionato del male.	30 Do not contend against a man without cause, even though he has done no evil to you.
31 Non farti emulo dell'uomo ingiusto e non imitare la sua condotta.	31 Do not rival an unjust man, and do not imitate his ways.
32 Perchè ogni schernitore è in abominio al Signore che con i semplici è in segreta intimità.	32 For everyone who ridicules is an abomination to the Lord, and his communication is for the simple.
33 Nella casa dell'empio vien da Dio la povertà, ma le abitazioni dei giusti saranno benedette.	33 Destitution in the house of the impious is from the Lord. But the habitations of the just shall be blessed.
34 Egli si beffa dei beffardi, ma ai mansueti darà grazia.	34 He will ridicule those who ridicule, but he will bestow grace upon the mild.
35 I sapienti possederanno la gloria, l'esaltamento degli stolti sarà l'ignominia.	35 The wise will possess glory. The exaltation of the foolish is disgraceful.
