1 - Al corifeo: [sull'aria] «Muori per il figlio». Salmo di David.	1 [For the choirmaster On oboe and harp Psalm Of David] I thank you, Yahweh, with my whole heart, Irecount al your wonders,
2 Ti loderò, o Signore, con tutto il mio cuore, celebrerò tutte le tue meraviglie;	2 I rejoice and delight in you, I sing to your name, Most High.
3 m'allieterò ed esulterò in te, inneggerò al tuo nome, o Altissimo.	3 My enemies are in retreat, they stumble and perish at your presence,
4 Mentre si volgono in fuga i miei nemici, son fiaccati e periscono in faccia a te.	4 for you have given fair judgement in my favour, seated on your throne as upright judge.
5 Perchè hai appoggiato il mio diritto e la mia causa, ti sei assiso in tribunale, o giudice di giustizia.	5 You have rebuked the nations, destroyed the wicked, blotted out their name for ever and ever;
6 Hai rampognato le genti e l'empio è perito; il nome loro hai cancellato in eterno e per tutti i secoli.	6 the enemy is wiped out -- mere ruins for ever -- you have annihilated their cities, their memory hasperished. See,
7 Del nemico son finite le spade per sempre, e le loro città hai distrutto: perì con chiasso la memoria loro!	7 Yahweh is enthroned for ever, keeping his throne firm for judgement;
8 Ma il Signore in eterno sta: ha stabilito per il giudizio il suo trono.	8 he wil himself judge the world in uprightness, wil give a true verdict on the nations.
9 E giudica il mondo con equità, regge i popoli con giustizia.	9 May Yahweh be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble!
10 Ed è il Signore un rifugio all'oppresso, un aiuto a tempo opportuno, nella tribolazione.	10 Those who revere your name can rely on you, you never desert those who seek you, Yahweh.
11 E sperano in te, quei che conoscono il tuo nome, perché tu non abbandoni chi ti cerca, o Signore.	11 Sing to Yahweh who dwel s in Zion, tel the nations his mighty deeds,
12 Inneggiate al Signore che abita in Sion, proclamate tra le genti le sue gesta.	12 for the avenger of blood does not forget them, he does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.
13 Perchè il vendicatore del sangue s'è ricordato di loro, non ha dimenticato il grido degli oppressi.	13 Have pity on me, Yahweh, see my affliction, pull me back from the gates of death,
14 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, mira l'afflizione mia per opera de' miei nemici,	14 that I may recount al your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion and rejoice in your salvation.
15 tu che m' hai tratto su dalle porte della morte, perch'io celebri tutte le tue lodi[e] alle porte della figlia di Sion	15 The nations have fal en into the trap they made, their feet caught in the snare they laid.
16 esulti per la salvezza [venutami] da te. Sprofondate son le genti nella rovina ch'avevan preparata, nel laccio stesso ch'avevan nascosto restò impigliato il loro piede.	16 Yahweh has made himself known, given judgement, he has ensnared the wicked in the work of theirown hands.Muted music Pause
17 S'è fatto conoscere il Signore col far giustizia: nell'opera delle proprie mani restò preso il peccatore.	17 May the wicked turn away to Sheol, al the nations forgetful of God.
18 Sian travolti gli empi negli Inferi, le genti tutte che dimenticano Dio!	18 For the needy is not forgotten for ever, not for ever does the hope of the poor come to nothing.
19 Perché non per sempre sarà il povero nell'oblio, la paziente attesa de' miseri non sarà frustrata per sempre.	19 Arise, Yahweh; human strength shal not prevail. The nations shal stand trial before you.
20 Sorgi, o Signore! Non s'inorgoglisca l'uomo: sian giudicate le genti al tuo cospetto.	20 Strike them with terror, Yahweh; the nations shall know that they are no more than human!Pause
21 Imponi, o Signore, sovr'esse un legislatore [dalla mano di ferro], perché conoscan le genti, che son uomini [e nulla più].
