1 I capifamiglia dei leviti si presentarono al sacerdote Eleàzaro, a Giosuè figlio di Nun e ai capifamiglia delle tribù degli Israeliti	1 Then the princes of the families of Levi came to Eleazar the priest, and to Josue the son of Nun, and to the princes of the kindreds of all the tribes of the children of Israel:
2 e dissero loro a Silo, nella terra di Canaan: «Il Signore ha comandato, per mezzo di Mosè, che ci fossero date città da abitare, con i loro pascoli per il nostro bestiame».	2 And they spoke to them in Silo in the land of Chanaan, and said: The Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given us to dwell in, and their suburbs to feed our cattle.
3 Allora gli Israeliti, secondo il comando del Signore, diedero ai leviti le seguenti città, con i loro pascoli, prendendole dalla loro eredità.	3 And the children of Israel gave out of their possessions according to the commandment of the Lord, cities and their suburbs.
4 Si tirò a sorte per i casati dei Keatiti. Ai leviti, figli del sacerdote Aronne, toccarono in sorte tredici città della tribù di Giuda, della tribù di Simeone e della tribù di Beniamino.	4 And the lot came out for the family of Caath of the children of Aaron the priest out of the tribes of Juda, and of Simeon, and of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5 Al resto dei Keatiti toccarono in sorte dieci città dei casati della tribù di Èfraim, della tribù di Dan e di metà della tribù di Manasse.	5 And to the rest of the children of Caath, that is, to the Levites, who remained, out of the tribes of Ephraim, and of Dan, and the half tribe of Manasses, ten cities.
6 Ai figli di Gherson toccarono in sorte tredici città dei casati della tribù di Ìssacar, della tribù di Aser, della tribù di Nèftali e di metà della tribù di Manasse in Basan.	6 And the lot came out to the children of Gerson, that they should take of the tribes of Issachar and of Aser and of Nephtali, and of the half tribe of Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.
7 Ai figli di Merarì, secondo i loro casati, toccarono dodici città della tribù di Ruben, della tribù di Gad e della tribù di Zàbulon.	7 And to the sons of Merari by their kindreds, of the tribes of Ruben and or Cad and of Zabulon, twelve cities.
8 Gli Israeliti dunque assegnarono per sorteggio ai leviti queste città, con i loro pascoli, come il Signore aveva comandato per mezzo di Mosè.	8 And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, giving to every one by lot.
9 Della tribù dei figli di Giuda e della tribù dei figli di Simeone assegnarono le città qui nominate.	9 Of the tribes of the children of Juda and of Simeon Josue gave cities: whose names are these,
10 Esse toccarono ai leviti, figli d’Aronne, dei casati dei Keatiti, perché il primo sorteggio fu per loro.	10 To the sons of Aaron, of the families of Caath of the race of Levi (for the first lot came out for them)
11 Furono dunque date loro Kiriat-Arbà, padre di Anak, ossia Ebron, sulle montagne di Giuda, con i suoi pascoli tutt’intorno;	11 The city of Arbe the father of Enac, which is called Hebron, in the mountain of Juda, and the suburbs thereof round about.
12 ma diedero in possesso a Caleb, figlio di Iefunnè, i campi di questa città e i villaggi circostanti.	12 But the fields and the villages thereof he had given to Caleb the son of Jephone for his possession.
13 Diedero dunque ai figli del sacerdote Aronne Ebron, città di asilo per l’omicida, con i suoi pascoli, Libna e i suoi pascoli,	13 He gave therefore to the children of Aaron the priest, Hebron a city of refuge, and the suburbs thereof: and Lobna with the suburbs thereof,
14 Iattir e i suoi pascoli, Estemòa e i suoi pascoli,	14 And Jether and Estemo,
15 Colon e i suoi pascoli, Debir e i suoi pascoli,	15 And Holon, and Dabir,
16 Ain e i suoi pascoli, Iutta e i suoi pascoli, Bet-Semes e i suoi pascoli: nove città di queste tribù.	16 And Ain, and Jeta, and Bethsames, with their suburbs : nine cities out of the two tribes, as hath been said.
17 Della tribù di Beniamino, Gàbaon e i suoi pascoli, Gheba e i suoi pascoli,	17 And out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, Gabaon, and Gabae,
18 Anatòt e i suoi pascoli, Almon e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	18 And Anathoth and Almon, with their suburbs: four cities.
19 Totale delle città dei sacerdoti figli d’Aronne: tredici città e i loro pascoli.	19 All the cities together of the children of Aaron the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
20 Ai casati dei Keatiti, cioè al resto dei leviti, figli di Keat, toccarono città della tribù di Èfraim.	20 And to the rest of the families of the children of Caath of the race of Levi was given this possession.
21 Fu loro data, come città di asilo per l’omicida, Sichem e i suoi pascoli sulle montagne di Èfraim; poi Ghezer e i suoi pascoli,	21 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Sichem one of the cities of refuge, with the suburbs thereof in mount Ephraim, and Cater,
22 Kibsàim e i suoi pascoli, Bet-Oron e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	22 And Cibsaim, and Beth-horon, with their suburbs, four cities.
23 Della tribù di Dan: Eltekè e i suoi pascoli, Ghibbetòn e i suoi pascoli,	23 And of the tribe of Dan, Eltheco and Gabathon,
24 Àialon e i suoi pascoli, Gat-Rimmon e i suoi pascoli: quattro città.	24 And Aialon and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, four cities.
25 Di metà della tribù di Manasse: Taanac e i suoi pascoli, Ibleàm e i suoi pascoli: due città.	25 And of the half tribe of Manasses, Thanac and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, two cities.
26 Totale: dieci città con i loro pascoli, che toccarono ai casati degli altri figli di Keat.	26 All the cities were ten, with their suburbs, which were given to the children of Caath, of the inferior degree.
27 Ai figli di Gherson, che erano tra i casati dei leviti, furono date, di metà della tribù di Manasse, come città di asilo per l’omicida, Golan in Basan e i suoi pascoli, Astaròt con i suoi pascoli: due città;	27 To the children of Gerson also of the race of Levi out of the half tribe of Manasses, Gaulon in Basan, one of the cities of refuge, and Bosra, with their suburbs, two cities.
28 della tribù d’Ìssacar, Kisiòn e i suoi pascoli, Daberàt e i suoi pascoli,	28 And of the tribe of Issachar, Cesion, and Dabereth,
29 Iarmut e i suoi pascoli, En-Gannìm e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;	29 And Jaramoth, and Engannim, with their suburbs, four cities.
30 della tribù di Aser, Misal e i suoi pascoli, Abdon e i suoi pascoli,	30 And of the tribe of Aser, Masal and Abdon,
31 Chelkat e i suoi pascoli, Recob e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;	31 ,31And Helcath, and Rohob, with their suburbs, four cities.
32 della tribù di Nèftali, come città di asilo per l’omicida, Kedes in Galilea e i suoi pascoli, Cammòt-Dor e i suoi pascoli, Kartan con i suoi pascoli: tre città.	32 Of the tribe also of Nephtali, Cedes in Galilee, one of the cities of refuge: and Hammoth Dor, and Carthan, with their suburbs, three cities.
33 Totale delle città dei Ghersoniti, secondo i loro casati: tredici città e i loro pascoli.	33 All the cities of the families of Gerson, were thirteen, with their suburbs.
34 Ai casati dei figli di Merarì, cioè al resto dei leviti, furono date, della tribù di Zàbulon, Iokneàm e i suoi pascoli, Karta e i suoi pascoli,	34 And to the children of Merari, Levites of the inferior degree, by their families were given of the tribe of Zabulon, Jecnam and Cartha,
35 Dimna e i suoi pascoli, Naalàl e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;	35 And Damna and Naalol, four cities with their suburbs;
36 della tribù di Ruben, come città di asilo per l’omicida, Beser e i suoi pascoli, Iaas e i suoi pascoli,	36 Of the tribe of Ruben beyond the Jordan over against Jericho, Bosor in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Miser and Jaser and Jethson and Mephaath, four cities with their suburbs.
37 Kedemòt e i suoi pascoli, Mefàat e i suoi pascoli: quattro città;	37 Of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Galaad, one of the cities of refuge, and Manaim and Hesebon and Jaser, four cities with their suburbs.
38 della tribù di Gad, come città di asilo per l’omicida, Ramot in Gàlaad e i suoi pascoli, Macanàim e i suoi pascoli,	38 All the cities of the children of Merari by their families and kindreds, were twelve.
39 Chesbon e i suoi pascoli, Iazer e i suoi pascoli: in tutto quattro città.	39 So all the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight,
40 Totale delle città date in sorte ai figli di Merarì, secondo i loro casati, cioè il resto dei casati dei leviti: dodici città.	40 With their suburbs, each distributed by the families.
41 Totale delle città dei leviti in mezzo ai possessi degli Israeliti: quarantotto città e i loro pascoli.	41 And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn to give to their fathers: and they possessed it and dwelt in it.
42 Ciascuna di queste città comprendeva la città e il suo pascolo intorno: così di tutte queste città.	42 And he gave them peace from all nations round about: and none of their enemies durst stand against them, but were brought under their dominion.
43 Il Signore assegnò dunque a Israele tutta la terra che aveva giurato ai padri di dar loro, e gli Israeliti ne presero possesso e vi si stabilirono.	43 Not so much as one word, which he had promised to perform unto them, was made void, but all came to pass.
44 Il Signore diede loro tranquillità all’intorno, come aveva giurato ai loro padri; nessuno tra tutti i loro nemici poté resistere loro: il Signore consegnò nelle loro mani tutti quei nemici.
45 Non una parola cadde di tutte le promesse che il Signore aveva fatto alla casa d’Israele: tutto si è compiuto.
