1 Per il capocoro, sulla gittea. Salmo. Di David.	1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Jahvè, nostro Signore, quanto è mirabile il tuo nome per tutta la terra! Il tuo splendore si estende al disopra dei cieli.	2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 Dalla bocca dei bambini e dei lattanti hai tratto forza, per togliere di mezzo i tuoi avversari, per ridurre al silenzio il nemico e il vendicativo.	3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 Quando contemplo i tuoi cieli, opera delle tue dita, la luna e le stelle che tu hai fissato;	4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 che mai è l’uomo, mi dico, perché ti ricordi di lui, e il figlio dell’uomo perché ti interessi di lui?	5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Anzi, lo hai reso poco da meno di Dio; di gloria e splendore lo hai coronato.	6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 Lo hai fatto signore delle opere delle tue mani, tutto hai posto sotto i suoi piedi:	7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 pecore e armenti tutti quanti, perfino le bestie selvatiche,	8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 gli uccelli dei cieli e i pesci del mare, che corrono i sentieri dei mari.	9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
10 Jahvè, nostro Signore, quanto è mirabile il tuo, nome per tutta la terra!
