1 Di Salomone. O Dio, concedi al re il tuo statuto, e la tua giustizia al figlio del re.	1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,
2 Giudichi il tuo popolo secondo giustizia, e i tuoi miseri secondo diritto;	2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.
3 Apportino i monti pace al popolo, e i colli giustizia.	3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice
4 Renda giustizia ai meschini del popolo, salvi i figli dei poverelli e schiacci l’oppressore.	4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.
5 E durerà con il sole e innanzi alla luna, di generazione in generazione.	5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.
6 Scenda come pioggia sul falciato, come rovescio che irriga la terra.	6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.
7 Germogli ai suoi giorni la giustizia, e gran pace, finché più non sia la luna.	7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.
8 E domini da mare a mare e dal fiume ai confini della terra.	8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.
9 Al suo cospetto si curvino i suoi avversari, e i suoi nemici lambiscano la polvere.	9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;
10 I re di Tarsis e le isole apportino doni; i re di Saba e di Seba offrano tributo.	10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;
11 E lo adorino tutti i re, tutte le genti lo servano.	11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.
12 Infatti egli libera dall’usuraio il povero e il misero senza difese.	12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.
13 Compatisce l’oppresso e il povero, e salva le vite dei miseri.	13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.
14 Dall’oppressione e dalla violenza libera le loro vite e prezioso è il loro sangue ai suoi occhi.	14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.
15 Viva e si darà a lui dell’oro di Saba e si pregherà per lui di continuo; ogni giorno lo si benedirà.	15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.
16 Sia ricchezza di biade nel paese, si raccolga in fasci come l’erba dei prati. Come il Libano, il suo frutto e il suo germoglio prosperi sulle cime dei monti.	16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.
17 Sia il suo nome in eterno, al cospetto del sole resti il suo nome. Siano benedette in lui tutte le tribù, tutte le genti lo dicano beato.	17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.
18 Benedetto Jahvè, Dio d’Israele, che solo fa prodigi.	18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;
19 Benedetto il suo glorioso nome in eterno e sì riempia della sua gloria tutta la terra! Così sia! Così sia!	19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!
