¹ Salmo di David, quando fuggiva davanti ad Assalonne suo figlio.	¹ [Psalm Of David When he was fleeing from his son Absalom] Yahweh, how countless are my enemies,how countless those who rise up against me,
² Jahvè, come sono numerosi i miei avversari! Molti insorgono contro di me;	² how countless those who say of me, 'No salvation for him from his God!'Pause
³ molti dicono di me: «Non c’è scampo per lui in Dio!»	³ But you, Yahweh, the shield at my side, my glory, you hold my head high.
⁴ Ma tu, Jahvè, scudo intorno mi sei mia gloria, e sollevi il mio capo.	⁴ I cry out to Yahweh; he answers from his holy mountain.Pause
⁵ La mia voce grida a Jahvè e mi risponde dal suo monte santo.	⁵ As for me, if I lie down and sleep, I shall awake, for Yahweh sustains me.
⁶ Io giaccio e mi addormento; mi risveglio, perché Jahvè mi sostiene.	⁶ I have no fear of people in their thousands upon thousands, who range themselves against mewherever I turn.
⁷ Non temo per migliaia di gente, che sono intorno schierate contro di me.	⁷ Arise, Yahweh, rescue me, my God! You strike all my foes across the face, you break the teeth of thewicked.
⁸ Sorgi, Jahvè, salvami, mio Dio! Ecco smascellasti tutti i miei nemici, i denti dei peccatori hai frantumato.	⁸ In Yahweh is salvation, on your people, your blessing!Pause
⁹ A Jahvè la vittoria, sul tuo popolo la tua benedizione.
