1 Cantico delle ascensioni. Di David. Esultai quando mi dissero: «Ci avviamo alla casa di Jahvè!»	1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD!"
2 Stanno i nostri piedi alle tue porte, o Gerusalemme!	2 Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!
3 Gerusalemme, costruita come una grande città, che è saldamente compatta.	3 Jerusalem, built as a city which is bound firmly together,
4 Alla quale salgono le tribù, tribù di Jah. Precetto è fatto a Israele di lodare ivi il nome di Jahvè.	4 to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
5 Poiché là si ergevano i troni del giudizio, i troni per la casa di David.	5 There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Fate augurio a Gerusalemme: «Siano tranquilli coloro che ti amano;	6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! "May they prosper who love you!
7 Sia pace nei tuoi bastioni, tranquillità nei tuoi palazzi!»,	7 Peace be within your walls, and security within your towers!"
8 Per i fratelli e i miei amici esclamerò: «Sia pace in te!»	8 For my brethren and companions' sake I will say, "Peace be within you!"
9 Per la casa di Jahvè nostro Dio cercherò ciò che è bene per te.	9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.
