Salmi 26

BIBBIA TINTORI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 (Salmo di David, prima che fosse consacrato re). Il Signore è la mia luce e la mia salvezza; di chi ho da temere? Il Signore protegge la mia vita; chi potrà farmi tremare?	1 Unto the end, a psalm for David. Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked in my innocence: and I have put my trust in the Lord, and shall not be weakened.
2 Mentre i malvagi venivano ad attaccarmi, per divorar le mie carni, essi, i miei nemici che mi perseguitano, han vacillato e son caduti.	2 Prove me, O Lord, and try me; burn my reins and my heart.
3 Quand'anche mi si accampasse contro un esercito, il mio cuore non temerà, e se mi attaccassero in battaglia, in questa io pongo la mia speranza.	3 For thy mercy is before my eyes; and I am well pleased with thy truth.
4 Una sola cosa ho chiesto al Signore e cerco questa sola: d'abitare nella casa del Signore tutti i giorni della mia vita, per contemplare la bellezza del Signore ed ammirare il suo tempio.	4 I have not sat with the council of vanity: neither will I go in with the doers of unjust things.
5 Perché Egli mi nasconderà nel suo Tabernacolo, nel giorno della sventura. Mi proteggerà nella parte più nascosta del suo Tabernacolo:	5 I have hated the assembly of the malignant; and with the wicked I will not sit.
6 Mi innalzerà sopra una roccia, ed ora ha alzata la mia testa sopra i miei nemici. Andrò intorno e immolerò nel suo Tabernacolo sacrifizi di giubilo, canterò e salmeggerò al Signore.	6 I will wash my hands among the innocent; and will compass thy altar, O Lord:
7 Ascolta, o Signore, la voce della mia preghiera, abbi pietà di me ed esaudiscimi.	7 That I may hear the voice of thy praise: and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8 A te parla il mio cuore, te cercano i miei occhi, cercherò (sempre) la tua faccia, o Signore.	8 I have loved, O Lord, the beauty of thy house; and the place where thy glory dwelleth.
9 Non rivolgere la tua faccia da me, non t'allontanare sdegnato dal tuo servo. Sii il mio aiuto, non mi abbandonare, non mi disprezzare, o Dio mio salvatore.	9 Take not away my soul, O God, with the wicked: nor my life with bloody men:
10 Il padre e la madre mi hanno abbandonato, ma il Signore s'è preso cura di me.	10 In whose hands are iniquities: their right hand is filled with gifts.
11 O Signore, dammi una regola nella tua via e guidami per dritto cammino a causa dei miei nemici.	11 But as for me, I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy on me.
12 Non mi abbandonare alle brame dei miei avversari, perchè son sorti contro di me dei falsi testimoni e a suo tornaconto l'iniquità ha inventate menzogne.	12 My foot hath stood in the direct way: in the churches I will bless thee, O Lord.
13 Ho fiducia di poter vedere la felicità del Signore nella terra dei viventi.
14 Aspetta il Signore, agisci virilmente, fatti coraggio e spera nel Signore.
