Salmi 21

1 (Per la fine. Per l'aiuto del mattino. Salmo di David).	1 Unto the end. For the tasks of early morning. A Psalm of David.
2 Dio mio, Dio mio, volgiti a me; perchè mi hai abbandonato? Mi allontanano dalla salvezza le grida dei miei delitti.	2 O God, my God, look upon me. Why have you forsaken me? Far from my salvation are the words of my offenses.
3 Dio mio, io grido il giorno e non mi ascolti, grido la notte e non per mia follia.	3 My God, I will cry out by day, and you will not heed, and by night, and it will not be foolishness for me.
4 Eppure tu abiti nel tempio, o gloria d'Israele.	4 But you dwell in holiness, O Praise of Israel.
5 In te sperarono i nostri padri, sperarono e li liberasti;	5 In you, our fathers have hoped. They hoped, and you freed them.
6 A te alzarono i loro gemiti, e furon salvi: in te sperarono, e non restaron confusi.	6 They cried out to you, and they were saved. In you, they hoped and were not confounded.
7 Ma io sono un verme e non un uomo, l'obbrobrio degli uomini e il rifiuto della plebe.	7 But I am a worm and not a man: a disgrace among men, and an outcast of the people.
8 Tutti quelli che mi vedono mi deridono, borbottano colle labbra e scuoton la testa.	8 All those who saw me have derided me. They have spoken with the lips and shook the head.
9 « Ha sperato nel Signore: lo liberi, lo salvi, giacché gli vuol bene ».	9 He has hoped in the Lord, let him rescue him. Let him save him because he chooses him.
10 Eppure sei tu colui che mi traesti dal seno materno, tu, mia speranza fin da quando suggevo il latte di mia madre.	10 For you are the one who has drawn me out of the womb, my hope from the breasts of my mother.
11 Sulle tue ginocchia fui messo appena nato; fin dal seno di mia madre tu sei mio Dio.	11 I have been thrown upon you from the womb; from the womb of my mother, you are my God.
12 Non ti allontanare da me, chè la tribolazione è vicina, e non c'è chi mi aiuti.	12 Do not depart from me. For tribulation is near, since there is no one who may help me.
13 Molti giovenchi mi han circondato, grossi tori mi hanno assediato.	13 Many calves have surrounded me; fat bulls have besieged me.
14 Hanno spalancata sopra di me la loro bocca, come leone che sbrana e rogge.	14 They have opened their mouths over me, just like a lion seizing and roaring.
15 Io mi son disciolto come acqua, e tutte le mie ossa si sono slogate. Il mio cuore è diventato come cera e si strugge dentro il mio petto.	15 And so, I have been poured out like water, and all my bones have been scattered. My heart has become like wax, melting in the midst of my chest.
16 Il mio vigore s'è disseccato come un coccio; la mia lingua, si attacca al palato. Mi hai ridotto nella polvere della morte.	16 My strength has dried up like clay, and my tongue has adhered to my jaws. And you have pulled me down, into the dust of death.
17 Un branco di cani mi s'è messo d'intorno, una frotta di maligni m'ha assediato. Han trafitto le mie mani ed i miei piedi.	17 For many dogs have surrounded me. The council of the malicious has besieged me. They have pierced my hands and feet.
18 Han contate tutte le mie ossa. Poi mi han guardato e rimirato.	18 They have numbered all my bones. And they have examined me and stared at me.
19 Si son divise le mie vesti e sopra la mia tunica han gettata la sorte.	19 They divided my garments among them, and over my vestment, they cast lots.
20 Ma tu, o Signore, non mi lasciar senza soccorso, accorri in mia difesa.	20 But you, O Lord, do not take your help far from me; be attentive to my defense.
21 Libera dalla lancia, o Dio, l'anima mia, dal furore del cane l'unica mia.	21 O God, rescue my soul from the spear, and my only one from the hand of the dog.
22 Salvami dalla bocca del leone, me così debole dalle coma del bufalo.	22 Save me from the mouth of the lion, and my humility from the horns of single-horned beast.
23 Predicherò il tuo nome ai miei fratelli: canterò le tue lodi in mezzo alla chiesa.	23 I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the Church, I will praise you.
24 O voi che temete il Signore, lodatelo, o discendenti di Giacobbe, glorificatelo tutti.	24 You who fear the Lord, praise him. All the offspring of Jacob, glorify him.
25 Lo temano tutti i figli d'Israele, perchè non disdegnò nè disprezzo l'orazione del povero; nè rivolse da me la sua faccia e mi esaudì quando alzai a lui le mie grida.	25 May all the offspring of Israel fear him. For he has neither spurned nor despised the pleas of the poor. Neither has he turned his face away from me. And when I cried out to him, he heeded me.
26 A te dovrò di poterti lodare nella gran chiesa, scioglierò i miei voti (al Signore) davanti a coloro che lo temono.	26 My praise is with you, within a great church. I will pay my vows in the sight of those who fear him.
27 I poveri mangeranno e saranno satolli, loderanno il Signore quelli che lo cercan, e i loro cuori vivranno in eterno.	27 The poor will eat and be satisfied, and those who yearn for the Lord will praise him. Their hearts will live forever and ever.
28 Memori torneranno al Signore tutti i paesi del mondo, e si prostreranno in adorazione davanti a lui tutte le famiglie delle genti.	28 All the ends of the earth will remember, and they will be converted to the Lord. And all the families of the Gentiles will adore in his sight.
29 Perchè del Signore è il regno ed Egli è il sovrano delle nazioni.	29 For the kingdom belongs to the Lord, and he will have dominion over the Gentiles.
30 Mangeranno e adoreranno tutti i potenti della terra. Dinanzi a lui si prostreranno tutti quelli che scendon nella polvere.	30 All the fat of the earth have gnashed their teeth, and they have adored. In his sight, they will fall down, all those who descend to the ground.
31 E l'anima mia vivrà per lui, e la mia stirpe a lui servirà.	31 And my soul will live for him, and my offspring will serve him.
32 Avrà nome dal Signore la generazione futura, e i cieli annunzieranno la giustizia di lui al popolo che nascerà creato dal Signore.	32 There will be announced for the Lord a future generation, and the heavens will announce his justice to a people who will be born, whom the Lord has made.
