υπολαβων δε ιωβ λεγει | 1 But Job answered and said, |
τινι προσκεισαι η τινι μελλεις βοηθειν ποτερον ουχ ω πολλη ισχυς και ω βραχιων κραταιος εστιν | 2 How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength? |
τινι συμβεβουλευσαι ουχ ω πασα σοφια η τινι επακολουθησεις ουχ ω μεγιστη δυναμις | 3 How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is? |
τινι ανηγγειλας ρηματα πνοη δε τινος εστιν η εξελθουσα εκ σου | 4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee? |
μη γιγαντες μαιωθησονται υποκατωθεν υδατος και των γειτονων αυτου | 5 Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof. |
γυμνος ο αδης επωπιον αυτου και ουκ εστιν περιβολαιον τη απωλεια | 6 Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering. |
εκτεινων βορεαν επ' ουδεν κρεμαζων γην επι ουδενος | 7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. |
δεσμευων υδωρ εν νεφελαις αυτου και ουκ ερραγη νεφος υποκατω αυτου | 8 He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them. |
ο κρατων προσωπον θρονου εκπεταζων επ' αυτον νεφος αυτου | 9 He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it. |
προσταγμα εγυρωσεν επι προσωπον υδατος μεχρι συντελειας φωτος μετα σκοτους | 10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end. |
στυλοι ουρανου επετασθησαν και εξεστησαν απο της επιτιμησεως αυτου | 11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof. |
ισχυι κατεπαυσεν την θαλασσαν επιστημη δε ετρωσε το κητος | 12 He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud. |
κλειθρα δε ουρανου δεδοικασιν αυτον προσταγματι δε εθανατωσεν δρακοντα αποστατην | 13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent. |
ιδου ταυτα μερη οδου αυτου και επι ικμαδα λογου ακουσομεθα εν αυτω σθενος δε βροντης αυτου τις οιδεν οποτε ποιησει | 14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand? |
