BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 «Figlio dell’uomo, volgiti verso Gog nel paese di Magòg, capo supremo di Mesec e Tubal, e profetizza contro di lui. Annuncerai:	2 'Son of man, turn towards Gog, to the country of Magog, towards the paramount prince of Meshechand Tubal, and prophesy against him.
3 Così dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi contro di te Gog, capo supremo di Mesec e Tubal;	3 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am against you, Gog, paramount prince of Meshech and Tubal.
4 io ti aggirerò, ti metterò ganci alle mascelle e ti farò uscire con tutto il tuo esercito, cavalli e cavalieri, tutti ben equipaggiati, tutti muniti di spada, truppa immensa con scudi grandi e piccoli.	4 I shal turn you about, I shall fix hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your entire army, horses andhorsemen, al perfectly equipped, a huge array armed with shields and bucklers, and al wielding swords.
5 La Persia, l’Etiopia e Put sono con loro, tutti con scudi ed elmi.	5 Persia and Cush and Put are with them, al with buckler and helmet;
6 Gomer e tutte le sue schiere, la casa di Togarmà, le estreme regioni del settentrione e tutte le loro schiere. Popoli numerosi sono con te.	6 Gomer and al its troops, Beth-Togarmah in the far north and al its troops, and many nations with you.
7 Sta’ pronto, fa’ i preparativi insieme con tutta la moltitudine che si è radunata intorno a te: sii a mia disposizione.	7 Be ready, be wel prepared, you and al your troops and the others rallying to you, and hold yourself atmy service.
8 Dopo molto tempo ti sarà dato l’ordine: alla fine degli anni tu andrai contro una nazione che è sfuggita alla spada, che in mezzo a molti popoli si è radunata sui monti d’Israele, rimasti lungamente deserti. Essa è uscita dai popoli e tutti abitano tranquilli.	8 "Many days will pass before you are given orders; in the final years you wil march on this country,whose inhabitants wil have been living in confidence, remote from other peoples, since they escaped the swordand were gathered in from various nations, here in the long-deserted mountains of Israel.
9 Tu vi salirai, vi giungerai come un uragano: sarai come un nembo che avvolge la terra, tu con tutte le tue schiere e con i popoli numerosi che sono con te.	9 Like a storm you wil approach, you wil advance and cover the country like a cloud, you, al yourtroops and many nations with you.
10 Così dice il Signore Dio: In quel giorno ti sorgeranno in mente dei pensieri e concepirai progetti malvagi.	10 "The Lord Yahweh says this: That day, a thought wil enter your mind and you wil form a sinisterplan.
11 Tu dirai: “Andrò contro una terra indifesa, assalirò quelli che abitano tranquilli e se ne stanno sicuri, che abitano tutti in luoghi senza mura, che non hanno né sbarre né porte”,	11 You wil think: I shal attack this undefended country and march on this peaceful nation living secure,al living in towns without wal s or bars or gates.
12 per depredare, saccheggiare, mettere la mano su rovine ora ripopolate e sopra un popolo che si è riunito dalle nazioni, dedito agli armenti e ai propri affari, che abita al centro della terra.	12 You wil come to plunder and loot and turn your might against the ruins they live in, against thispeople gathered back from the nations, these stock-breeders and traders who live at the Navel of the World.
13 Saba, Dedan, i commercianti di Tarsis e tutti i suoi leoncelli ti domanderanno: “Vieni per saccheggiare? Hai radunato la tua gente per venire a depredare e portare via argento e oro, per rapire armenti e averi e per fare grosso bottino?”.	13 Sheba and Dedan, the merchants and all the magnates of Tarshish wil ask you: Have you come forplunder? Are you massing your troops with a view to looting? To make off with gold and silver, seize cattle and goods, and come away with unlimited spoil?"
14 Perciò profetizza, figlio dell’uomo, e annuncia a Gog: Così dice il Signore Dio: In quel giorno, quando il mio popolo Israele dimorerà del tutto sicuro, tu ti leverai,	14 'So, son of man, prophesy. Say to Gog, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Is it not true that you will set outat a time when my people Israel is living secure?
15 verrai dalla tua dimora, dagli estremi confini del settentrione, tu e i popoli numerosi che sono con te, tutti su cavalli, una turba grande, un esercito potente.	15 You wil leave your home in the far north, you and many nations with you, a great army of countlesstroops all mounted.
16 Verrai contro il mio popolo Israele, come un nembo per coprire la terra. Alla fine dei giorni io ti manderò sulla mia terra perché le nazioni mi conoscano quando per mezzo tuo, o Gog, manifesterò la mia santità davanti ai loro occhi.	16 You wil invade Israel, my people. You will be like a cloud covering the country. In the final days, Imyself shal bring you to attack my country, so that the nations will know who I am, when I display my holiness tothem, by means of you, Gog.
17 Così dice il Signore Dio: Non sei tu quegli di cui parlai nei tempi antichi per mezzo dei miei servi, i profeti d’Israele, i quali, in quei tempi e per molti anni, profetizzarono che io ti avrei mandato contro di loro?	17 "The Lord Yahweh says this: It was of you that I spoke in the past through my servants the prophetsof Israel, who prophesied in those days, foretel ing your invasion.
18 Ma quando Gog giungerà nella terra d’Israele – oracolo del Signore Dio – divamperà la mia collera.	18 The day Gog attacks the land of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- my furious wrath will boil up. Inmy anger,
19 Nella mia gelosia e nel mio furore ardente io vi dichiaro: In quel giorno ci sarà un grande terremoto nella terra d’Israele:	19 in my jealousy, in the heat of my fury I say it: That day, I swear, there wil be such a huge earthquakein the land of Israel,
20 davanti a me tremeranno i pesci del mare, gli uccelli del cielo, gli animali selvatici, tutti i rettili che strisciano sul terreno e ogni uomo che è sulla terra: i monti franeranno, le rocce cadranno e ogni muro rovinerà al suolo.	20 that the fish in the sea and the birds of heaven, the wild beasts, al the reptiles creeping along theground, and al people on the surface of the earth will quake before me. Mountains wil fall, cliffs crumble, alwal s col apse, and
21 Contro di lui, su tutti i monti d’Israele, chiamerò la spada. Oracolo del Signore Dio. La spada di ognuno di loro sarà contro il proprio fratello.	21 I shal summon every kind of sword against him -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- and each will turn hissword against his comrade.
22 Farò giustizia di lui con la peste e con il sangue: riverserò su di lui e le sue schiere, sopra i popoli numerosi che sono con lui, una pioggia torrenziale, grandine come pietre, fuoco e zolfo.	22 I shal punish him with plague and bloodshed, and rain down torrential rain, hailstones, fire andbrimstone on him, on his troops and on the many nations with him.
23 Io mostrerò la mia potenza e la mia santità e mi rivelerò davanti a nazioni numerose e sapranno che io sono il Signore.	23 I shal display my greatness and holiness and bring the many nations to acknowledge me; and theywil know that I am Yahweh." '
