Ezechiele 30

1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:	1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 «Figlio dell’uomo, profetizza e di’: Così dice il Signore Dio: Gemete: “Ah, che giorno!”.	2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: Thus says the Lord God: Wail: ‘Woe, woe to the day!’
3 Perché il giorno è vicino, vicino è il giorno del Signore, giorno di nubi sarà il giorno delle nazioni.	3 For the day is near, and the day of the Lord is approaching! It is a day of gloom; it will be the time of the Gentiles.
4 La spada verrà sull’Egitto e ci sarà l’angoscia in Etiopia, quando cadranno in Egitto i trafitti, le sue ricchezze saranno asportate e le sue fondamenta disfatte.	4 And the sword will come to Egypt. And there will be dread in Ethiopia, when the wounded will have fallen in Egypt, and its multitude will have been taken away, and its foundations will have been destroyed.
5 Etiopia, Put e Lud e stranieri d’ogni specie e Cub e i figli del paese dell’alleanza cadranno con loro di spada.	5 Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the rest of the common people, and Chub, and the sons of the land of the covenant, will fall with them by the sword.
6 Così dice il Signore: Cadranno gli alleati dell’Egitto e sarà abbattuto l’orgoglio della sua forza: da Migdol fino a Siene cadranno di spada. Oracolo del Signore Dio.	6 Thus says the Lord God: And those who prop up Egypt will fall, and the arrogance of its reign will be brought down. They will fall in it by the sword, before the tower of Syene, says the Lord, the God of hosts.
7 Sarà un deserto fra terre devastate e le sue città fra città desolate.	7 And they will be scattered into the midst of desolate lands, and its cities will be in the midst of cities that have been deserted.
8 Sapranno che io sono il Signore quando darò fuoco all’Egitto e tutti i suoi sostenitori saranno schiacciati.	8 And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have brought a fire into Egypt, and when all its helpers will have been worn away.
9 In quel giorno da parte mia partiranno su navi messaggeri a spargere il terrore in Etiopia, che si crede sicura. E in essa, come nel giorno dell’Egitto, vi sarà spavento: ecco, già viene quel giorno.	9 In that day, messengers will go forth from my face in Greek warships, in order to crush the confidence of Ethiopia. And there will be dread among them in the day of Egypt; for without doubt, it will happen.
10 Così dice il Signore Dio: Farò cessare l’opulenza dell’Egitto per mezzo di Nabucodònosor, re di Babilonia.	10 Thus says the Lord God: By the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, I will cause the multitude of Egypt to cease.
11 Egli e il suo popolo, il più violento dei popoli, saranno inviati a devastare il paese e sguaineranno la loro spada contro l’Egitto e riempiranno il terreno di cadaveri.	11 He, and his people with him, the strongest of the Gentiles, will be brought forth in order to destroy the land. And they will draw their swords over Egypt. And they will fill the land with the slain.
12 Farò seccare il Nilo e darò il paese in mano a nazioni barbare, devasterò il territorio e ciò che contiene, per mezzo di stranieri. Io, il Signore, ho parlato.	12 And I will cause the channels of the rivers to dry up. And I will deliver the land into the hand of the most wicked. And by the hands of foreigners, I will utterly destroy the land and its plenitude. I, the Lord, have spoken.
13 Così dice il Signore Dio: Distruggerò gli idoli e farò sparire gli dèi da Menfi. Non ci sarà più principe nella terra d’Egitto, spanderò il terrore nella terra d’Egitto,	13 Thus says the Lord God: And I will destroy the graven images, and I will cause the idols of Memphis to cease. And there will no longer be a commander of the land of Egypt. And I will send terror upon the land of Egypt.
14 devasterò Patros, darò fuoco a Tanis, farò giustizia su Tebe.	14 And I will destroy the land of Pathros, and I will send a fire upon Tahpanhes, and I will execute judgments in Alexandria.
15 Scatenerò l’ira su Sin, la roccaforte d’Egitto, sterminerò la moltitudine di Tebe.	15 And I will pour out my indignation upon Pelusium, the strength of Egypt, and I will kill the multitude of Alexandria.
16 Metterò a fuoco l’Egitto: Sin si torcerà dal dolore, Tebe sarà squassata, Menfi sarà smantellata dai nemici in pieno giorno.	16 And I will send a fire upon Egypt. Pelusium will be in pain, like a woman giving birth. And Alexandria will be utterly destroyed. And in Memphis, there will be anguish every day.
17 I giovani di Eliòpoli e di Bubasti cadranno di spada e queste città andranno in schiavitù.	17 The young men of Heliopolis and Pibeseth will fall by the sword, and the young women will be led into captivity.
18 A Tafni si oscurerà il giorno, quando vi spezzerò i gioghi imposti dall’Egitto e verrà meno in lei l’orgoglio della sua potenza; una nube la coprirà e le sue figlie saranno condotte schiave.	18 And in Tahpanhes, the day will grow black, when, in that place, I will break the scepters of Egypt. And the arrogance of her authority will fail within her; a gloom will cover her. Then her daughters will be led into captivity.
19 Farò giustizia dell’Egitto e sapranno che io sono il Signore».	19 And I will execute judgments in Egypt. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
20 Nell’anno undicesimo, nel primo mese, il sette del mese, mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:	20 And it happened that, in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh of the month, the word of the Lord came, me, saying:
21 «Figlio dell’uomo, ho spezzato il braccio del faraone, re d’Egitto; egli non è stato curato con medicamenti né fasciato con bende per fargli riprendere forza e maneggiare la spada.	21 “Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. And behold, it has not been wrapped, so that it might be restored to health; it has not been bound with cloths, or bandaged with linen, so that, having recovered strength, it would be able to hold the sword.
22 Perciò così dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi contro il faraone, re d’Egitto: gli spezzerò il braccio ancora valido e gli farò cadere la spada di mano.	22 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and I will shatter his strong arm, which has already been broken. And I will cast the sword away from his hand.
23 Disperderò gli Egiziani fra le genti e li disseminerò in paesi stranieri.	23 And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and I will scatter them among the lands.
24 Invece rafforzerò le braccia del re di Babilonia e nella sua mano porrò la mia spada: spezzerò le braccia del faraone, che gemerà davanti a lui come geme uno ferito a morte.	24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon. And I will put my sword into his hand. And I will break the arms of Pharaoh. And they will groan acutely, when they are slain before his face.
25 Fortificherò le braccia del re di Babilonia, mentre le braccia del faraone cadranno. Sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando porrò la mia spada nella mano del re di Babilonia ed egli la stenderà sulla terra d’Egitto.	25 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon. And the arms of Pharaoh will fall. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I will have given my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and when he will have extended it over the land of Egypt.
26 Disperderò gli Egiziani fra le genti e li disseminerò in paesi stranieri: sapranno che io sono il Signore».	26 And I will disperse Egypt among the nations, and I will scatter them among the lands. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
