1 Canto delle ascensioni. Di Salomone. Se Jahvè non edifica la casa invano vi faticano i costruttori. Se Jahvè non guarda la città invano veglia il custode.	1 When the lord brought back the captivity of Sion, we became like men comforted.
2 Vano è per voi che vi leviate di buon mattino, che tardiate a posarvi, che mangiate pane di afflizioni.Tanto ne dona ai suoi diletti nel sonno!	2 Then was our mouth filled with gladness; and our tongue with joy. Then shall they say among the Gentiles: The Lord hath done great things for them.
3 Ecco: i figli sono eredità di Jahvè, il frutto del seno è mercede.	3 The Lord hath done great things for us: we are become joyful.
4 Come saette in mano di un prode così sono i figli della giovinezza.	4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as a stream in the south.
5 Felice l’uomo che ha pieno il suo turcasso di loro. Non arrossirà, anzi avrà da dire con i nemici, alla porta.	5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
	6 Going they went and wept, casting their seeds.
	7 But coming they shall come with joyfulness, carrying their sheaves.
