1 [Für den Chormeister. Nach Jedutun. Ein Psalm Davids.]	1 [For the choirmaster . . . Jeduthun Psalm Of David] In God alone there is rest for my soul, from himcomes my safety;
2 Bei Gott allein kommt meine Seele zur Ruhe, von ihm kommt mir Hilfe.	2 he alone is my rock, my safety, my stronghold so that I stand unshaken.
3 Nur er ist mein Fels, meine Hilfe, meine Burg; darum werde ich nicht wanken.	3 How much longer wil you set on a victim, al together, intent on murder, like a rampart already leaningover, a wall already damaged?
4 Wie lange rennt ihr an gegen einen Einzigen, stürmt alle heran wie gegen eine fallende Wand, wie gegen eine Mauer, die einstürzt?	4 Trickery is their only plan, deception their only pleasure, with lies on their lips they pronounce ablessing, with a curse in their hearts.Pause
5 Ja, sie planen, ihn von seiner Höhe zu stürzen; Lügen ist ihre Lust. Sie segnen mit ihrem Mund, doch in ihrem Herzen fluchen sie. [Sela]	5 Rest in God alone, my soul! He is the source of my hope.
6 Bei Gott allein kommt meine Seele zur Ruhe; denn von ihm kommt meine Hoffnung.	6 He alone is my rock, my safety, my stronghold, so that I stand unwavering.
7 Nur er ist mein Fels, meine Hilfe, meine Burg; darum werde ich nicht wanken.	7 In God is my safety and my glory, the rock of my strength. In God is my refuge;
8 Bei Gott ist mein Heil, meine Ehre; Gott ist mein schützender Fels, meine Zuflucht.	8 trust in him, you people, at al times. Pour out your hearts to him, God is a refuge for us.Pause
9 Vertrau ihm, Volk (Gottes), zu jeder Zeit! Schüttet euer Herz vor ihm aus! Denn Gott ist unsere Zuflucht. [Sela]	9 Ordinary people are a mere puff of wind, important people a delusion; set both on the scales together,and they are lighter than a puff of wind.
10 Nur ein Hauch sind die Menschen, die Leute nur Lug und Trug. Auf der Waage schnellen sie empor, leichter als ein Hauch sind sie alle.	10 Put no trust in extortion, no empty hopes in robbery; however much wealth may multiply, do not setyour heart on it.
11 Vertraut nicht auf Gewalt, verlasst euch nicht auf Raub! Wenn der Reichtum auch wächst, so verliert doch nicht euer Herz an ihn!	11 Once God has spoken, twice have I heard this: Strength belongs to God,
12 Eines hat Gott gesagt, zweierlei habe ich gehört: Bei Gott ist die Macht;	12 to you, Lord, faithful love; and you repay everyone as their deeds deserve.
13 Herr, bei dir ist die Huld. Denn du wirst jedem vergelten, wie es seine Taten verdienen.
