1 Or Pietro e Giovanni salivano al tempio sull'ora della preghiera di nona.	1 Now Peter and John went up to the temple at the ninth hour of prayer.
2 E veniva portato un cert'uomo, storpio dalla nascita, che posavan tutti i giorni alla porta del tempio, detta Bella, per chiedere limosina a quelli che entravano nel tempio.	2 And a certain man, who was lame from his mother’s womb, was being carried in. They would lay him every day at the gate of the temple, which is called the Beautiful, so that he might request alms from those entering into the temple.
3 Costui, vedendo Pietro e Giovanni che stavano per entrare nel tempio, si raccomandava per avere dell'elemosina.	3 And this man, when he had seen Peter and John beginning to enter the temple, was begging, so that he might receive alms.
4 E Pietro, miratolo fissamente con Giovanni, disse: Guardaci.	4 Then Peter and John, gazing at him, said, “Look at us.”
5 E quello li guardava attentamente sperando di ricevere da essi qualche cosa.	5 And he looked intently at them, hoping that he might receive something from them.
6 Ma Pietro disse: Non ho nè oro nè argento; ma quello che ho te lo dò: In nome di Gesù Cristo Nazareno alzati e cammina.	6 But Peter said: “Silver and gold is not mine. But what I have, I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise up and walk.”
7 E presolo per la destra, lo alzò e sull'istante le piante e gli stinchi gli si consolidarono:	7 And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up. And immediately his legs and feet were strengthened.
8 e d'un salto si rizzò e cominciò a camminare: ed entrò con essi nel tempio, camminando, saltando e lodando Dio.	8 And leaping up, he stood and walked around. And he entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
9 E tutto il popolo lo vide camminare e lodare Dio.	9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
10 E riconoscendolo per quello che sedeva per l'elemosina alla porta Bella del tempio, eran pieni di stupore e fuori di se per quanto era avvenuto.	10 And they recognized him, that he was the same one who was sitting for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. And they were filled with awe and amazement at what had happened to him.
11 E mentre egli teneva stretto Pietro e Giovanni, tutto il popolo, stupefatto, corse verso di loro nel portico detto di Salomone.	11 Then, as he held on to Peter and John, all the people ran to them at the portico, which is called Solomon’s, in astonishment.
12 Veduto ciò, Pietro rispose al popolo: Israeliti, perchè vi maravigliate di questo? e perchè tenete gli occhi su di noi, come se per nostra potenza o virtù lo avessimo fatto camminare?	12 But Peter, seeing this, responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this? Or why do you stare at us, as if it were by our own strength or power that we caused this man to walk?
13 Il Dio d'Àbramo, d'Isacco e di Giacobbe, il Dio dei padri nostri ha glorificato il suo Figlio Gesù, che voi avete tradito e rinnegato davanti a Pilato, mentre lui aveva deciso di liberarlo.	13 The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you, indeed, handed over and denied before the face of Pilate, when he was giving judgment to release him.
14 Ma voi rinnegaste il Santo e il Giusto, o chiedeste che vi fosse graziato un omicida;	14 Then you denied the Holy and Just One, and petitioned for a murderous man to be given to you.
15 voi uccideste l'autore della vita, che Dio però ha risuscitato dai morti, del che noi siamo testimoni.	15 Truly, it was the Author of Life whom you put to death, whom God raised from the dead, to whom we are witnesses.
16 E per la fede nel nome di lui, il suo nome ha rafforzato costui che vedete e conoscete, e la fede che viene da lui gli ha dato davanti agli occhi vostri questa perfetta sanità.	16 And by faith in his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, has confirmed his name. And faith through him has given this man complete health in the sight of you all.
17 Or io so, o fratelli, che lo faceste per ignoranza, come i vostri capi.	17 And now, brothers, I know that you did this through ignorance, just as your leaders also did.
18 Ma Dio ha così adempito quello che aveva predetto per bocca di tutti i profeti: dover patire il suo Cristo.	18 But in this way God has fulfilled the things that he announced beforehand through the mouth of all the Prophets: that his Christ would suffer.
19 Fate adunque penitenza e convertitevi, affinché siano cancellati i vostri peccati,	19 Therefore, repent and be converted, so that your sins may be wiped away.
20 e possa venire il tempo della consolazione dalla faccia del Signore ed egli mandi quel Gesù Cristo che vi fu predicato,	20 And then, when the time of consolation will have arrived from the presence of the Lord, he will send the One who was foretold to you, Jesus Christ,
21 il quale deve essere accolto dai cieli fino al tempo della restaurazione di tutte le cose, di cui già da secoli Dio ha parlato per bocca dei suoi santi profeti.	21 whom heaven certainly must take up, until the time of the restoration of all things, which God has spoken of by the mouth of his holy prophets, from ages past.
22 Mosè disse infatti: Il Signore Dio vostro vi susciterà tra i vostri fratelli un profeta come me, ascoltatelo in tutto quanto vi dirà.	22 Indeed, Moses said: ‘For the Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet for you from your brothers, one like me; the same shall you listen to according to everything whatsoever that he shall speak to you.
23 Ogni anima poi che non presterà fede a questo profeta sarà sterminata dal popolo.	23 And this shall be: every soul who will not listen to that Prophet shall be exterminated from the people.’
24 Anche tutti i profeti da Samuele in poi, quanti hanno parlato, hanno predetto questi giorni.	24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and thereafter, have announced these days.
25 Voi siete i figli dei profeti e del patto che Dio strinse coi vostri padri, quando disse ad Abramo: E nella tua progenie saran benedette tutte le famiglie della terra.	25 You are sons of the prophets and of the testament which God has appointed for our fathers, saying to Abraham: ‘And by your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’
26 A voi per i primi Dio avendo risuscitato il suo Figlio, l'ha mandato a benedirvi, affinchè ciascuno di voi si converta dalle sue iniquità.	26 God raised up his Son and sent him first to you, to bless you, so that each one may turn himself away from his wickedness.”
