Ezechiele 29

1 L'anno decimo, nel decimo mese, agli undici del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:	1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the eleventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 « Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia contro Faraone re d'Egitto, e profetizza su di lui e su tutto l'Egitto;	2 “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and you shall prophesy about him and about all of Egypt.
3 parla e di': Così parla il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o Faraone, re d'Egitto, o gran dragone che riposi in mezzo ai tuoi fiumi, e dici: « Mio è il fiume: io mi son fatto da me ».	3 Speak, and you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, you great dragon, who rests in the midst of your rivers. And you say: ‘Mine is the river, and I have made myself.’
4 Io metterò un freno alle tue mascelle, e farò che i pesci dei tuoi fiumi s'attacchino alle tue squame, e ti trarrò di mezzo ai tuoi fiumi, e tutti i tuoi pesci staranno attaccati alle tue sigiarne.	4 But I will place a bridle in your jaws. And I will adhere the fish of your rivers to your scales. And I will draw you out of the midst of your rivers, and all your fish will adhere to your scales.
5 E ti getterò nel deserto con tutti i pesci del tuo fiume: tu cadrai per terra, e non sarai nè raccolto, nè sepolto: ti ho dato in pasto alle bestie della terra e agli uccelli del cielo.	5 And I will cast you into the desert, with all the fish of your river. You will fall upon the surface of the earth; you will not be taken up, nor gathered together. I have given you to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the air, to be devoured.
6 E tutti gli abitanti dell'Egitto sapranno che io sono il Signore, perchè tu fosti im sostegno di canna per la casa d'Israele,	6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord. For you have been a staff made of reed to the house of Israel.
7 e quando ti presero in mano, ti rompesti, e lacerasti loro tutta la spalla, e quando si appoggiarono su di te andasti in pezzi, e facesti rompere a tutti i loro reni.	7 When they took hold of you with the hand, you broke, and so you wounded all of their shoulders. And when they leaned on you, you shattered, and so you injured all of their lower backs.
8 Per questo cosi parla il Signore Dio: Ecco che io farò venire contro di te la spada, e sterminerò in te uomini e giumenti.	8 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will lead the sword over you, and I will destroy both man and beast from among you.
9 E la terra d'Egitto diventerà un deserto, una solitudine, e sapranno che io sono il Signore. Perchè tu hai detto: « Il fiume è mio, sono io che l'ho fatto »,	9 And the land of Egypt will be a desert and a wilderness. And they shall know that I am the Lord. For you have said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it.’
10 per questo, eccomi a te e ai tuoi fiumi, e ridurrò la terra d'Egitto a solitudine desolata dalla spada, dalla torre di Siene fino alla frontiera dell'Etiopia.	10 Therefore, behold, I am against you and against your rivers. And I will make the land of Egypt into a wilderness, destroyed by the sword from the tower of Syene all the way to the borders of Ethiopia.
11 Non vi passerà piede umano, non vi camminerà piè di giumento, e sarà disabitato per quarant'anni.	11 The foot of man will not pass through it, and the foot of cattle will not walk in it. And it will be uninhabited for forty years.
12 E ridurrò la terra d'Egitto a deserto in mozzo a terre deserte, e le sue città, in mezzo a città distrutte, saran desolate per quarant'anni, e disperderò gli Egiziani fra le nazioni, e li disseminerò al vento per le terre.	12 And I will set the land of Egypt in desolation, in the midst of desolate lands, and its cities in the midst of overturned cites. And they will be desolate for forty years. And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and I will disperse them among the lands.
13 Però così parla il Signore Dio: Passati che siano quarant'anni, io radunerò gli Egiziani di mezzo ai popoli tra i quali furon dispersi,	13 For thus says the Lord God: After the end of forty years, I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they had been scattered.
14 e farò tornare gli schiavi d'Egitto, e li farò abitare nella terra di Fatures, nel paese di loro origine, e vi formeranno un umile regno,	14 And I will lead back the captivity of Egypt, and I will collect them in the land of Pathros, in the land of their nativity. And in that place, they will be a lowly kingdom.
15 che sarà il più piccolo tra i regni e non s'innalzerà più sopra le nazioni: li ridorrò a piccol numero, perchè non dominino più sulle nazioni.	15 It will be the lowest among the other kingdoms, and it will no longer be exalted above the nations. And I will diminish them, lest they rule over the Gentiles.
16 E non saran più nella fiducia della casa d'Israele, e non insegneranno l'iniquità, che fuggano e li seguano; e sapranno che io sono il Signore Dio ».	16 And they will no longer be the confidence of the house of Israel, teaching iniquity, so that they may flee and follow them. And they shall know that I am the Lord God.”
17 L'anno ventisettesimo, nel primo mese, al primo del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:	17 And it happened that, in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
18 « Figlio dell'uomo, Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, ha fatto servire il suo esercito con penosa servitù contro Tiro: tutte le teste son diventate calve, tutte le spalle sono state scorticate, e non è stata data alcuna mercede per Tiro, nè a lui ne al suo esercito per il servizio che mi ha reso contro di lei.	18 “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has caused his army to serve with great servility against Tyre. Every head was shaven, and every shoulder was stripped of hair. And wages have not been paid to him, nor to his army, for Tyre, for the service by which he served for me against it.
19 Per questo cosi parla il Signore Dio: Ecco che io farò entrare Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, nella terra d'Egitto e ne farà prigioniero il popolo, e ne prenderà le spoglie e ne porterà via le ricchezze, e saranno il salario del suo esercito.	19 Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will station Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, in the land of Egypt. And he will take its multitude, and he will prey upon its profits, and he will plunder its spoils. And this shall be the wages for his army
20 Pel servizio che ha reso contro Tiro gli ho data la terra d'Egitto, perchè egli ha fortificato per me — dice il Signore Dio.	20 and for the work by which he has served against it. I have given to him the land of Egypt, because he has labored for me, says the Lord God.
21 In quel giorno rifiorirà la potenza della casa d'Israele, e ti darò d'aprir la bocca in mezzo ad essi: e sapranno che io sono il Signore ».	21 In that day, a horn will spring forth for the house of Israel, and I will give to you an open mouth in their midst. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
