Ezechiele 29

1 L'anno decimo, nel decimo mese, agli undici del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:	1 On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the tenth year, the word of the LORD came to me:
2 « Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia contro Faraone re d'Egitto, e profetizza su di lui e su tutto l'Egitto;	2 Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
3 parla e di': Così parla il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o Faraone, re d'Egitto, o gran dragone che riposi in mezzo ai tuoi fiumi, e dici: « Mio è il fiume: io mi son fatto da me ».	3 Say this to him: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, Great crouching monster amidst your Niles: Who say, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them!"
4 Io metterò un freno alle tue mascelle, e farò che i pesci dei tuoi fiumi s'attacchino alle tue squame, e ti trarrò di mezzo ai tuoi fiumi, e tutti i tuoi pesci staranno attaccati alle tue sigiarne.	4 I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your Niles stick to your scales, then draw you up from the midst of your Niles along with all the fish of your Niles sticking to your scales.
5 E ti getterò nel deserto con tutti i pesci del tuo fiume: tu cadrai per terra, e non sarai nè raccolto, nè sepolto: ti ho dato in pasto alle bestie della terra e agli uccelli del cielo.	5 I will cast you into the desert, you and all the fish of your Niles; You shall fall upon the open field, you shall not be taken up or buried; To the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air I give you as food,
6 E tutti gli abitanti dell'Egitto sapranno che io sono il Signore, perchè tu fosti im sostegno di canna per la casa d'Israele,	6 That all who dwell in Egypt may know that I am the LORD. Because you have been a reed staff for the house of Israel:
7 e quando ti presero in mano, ti rompesti, e lacerasti loro tutta la spalla, e quando si appoggiarono su di te andasti in pezzi, e facesti rompere a tutti i loro reni.	7 When they held you in hand, you splintered, throwing every shoulder out of joint; When they leaned on you, you broke, bringing each one of them down headlong;
8 Per questo cosi parla il Signore Dio: Ecco che io farò venire contro di te la spada, e sterminerò in te uomini e giumenti.	8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I will bring the sword against you, and cut off from you both man and beast.
9 E la terra d'Egitto diventerà un deserto, una solitudine, e sapranno che io sono il Signore. Perchè tu hai detto: « Il fiume è mio, sono io che l'ho fatto »,	9 The land of Egypt shall become a desolate waste; thus they shall know that I am the LORD. Because you said, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them,"
10 per questo, eccomi a te e ai tuoi fiumi, e ridurrò la terra d'Egitto a solitudine desolata dalla spada, dalla torre di Siene fino alla frontiera dell'Etiopia.	10 therefore see! I am coming at you and against your Niles; I will make the land of Egypt a waste and a desolation from Migdol to Syene, and even to the frontier of Ethiopia.
11 Non vi passerà piede umano, non vi camminerà piè di giumento, e sarà disabitato per quarant'anni.	11 No foot of man or beast shall pass through it; they shall not pass through it, and it will be uninhabited for forty years.
12 E ridurrò la terra d'Egitto a deserto in mozzo a terre deserte, e le sue città, in mezzo a città distrutte, saran desolate per quarant'anni, e disperderò gli Egiziani fra le nazioni, e li disseminerò al vento per le terre.	12 I will make the land of Egypt the most desolate of lands, and its cities shall be the most deserted of cities for forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.
13 Però così parla il Signore Dio: Passati che siano quarant'anni, io radunerò gli Egiziani di mezzo ai popoli tra i quali furon dispersi,	13 Yet thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they are scattered,
14 e farò tornare gli schiavi d'Egitto, e li farò abitare nella terra di Fatures, nel paese di loro origine, e vi formeranno un umile regno,	14 and I will restore Egypt's fortune, bringing them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, where it will be the lowliest
15 che sarà il più piccolo tra i regni e non s'innalzerà più sopra le nazioni: li ridorrò a piccol numero, perchè non dominino più sulle nazioni.	15 of kingdoms, never more to set itself above the nations. I will make them few, that they may not dominate the nations.
16 E non saran più nella fiducia della casa d'Israele, e non insegneranno l'iniquità, che fuggano e li seguano; e sapranno che io sono il Signore Dio ».	16 No longer shall they be for the house of Israel to trust in, but the living reminder of its guilt for having turned to follow after them. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
17 L'anno ventisettesimo, nel primo mese, al primo del mese, la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:	17 On the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:
18 « Figlio dell'uomo, Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, ha fatto servire il suo esercito con penosa servitù contro Tiro: tutte le teste son diventate calve, tutte le spalle sono state scorticate, e non è stata data alcuna mercede per Tiro, nè a lui ne al suo esercito per il servizio che mi ha reso contro di lei.	18 Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has led his army in an exhausting campaign against Tyre. Their heads became bald and their shoulders were galled; but neither he nor his army received any wages from Tyre for the campaign he led against it.
19 Per questo cosi parla il Signore Dio: Ecco che io farò entrare Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, nella terra d'Egitto e ne farà prigioniero il popolo, e ne prenderà le spoglie e ne porterà via le ricchezze, e saranno il salario del suo esercito.	19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I am now giving the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. He shall carry off its riches, plundering and pillaging it for the wages of his soldiers, who did it for me;
20 Pel servizio che ha reso contro Tiro gli ho data la terra d'Egitto, perchè egli ha fortificato per me — dice il Signore Dio.	20 as payment for his toil I have given him the land of Egypt, says the Lord GOD.
21 In quel giorno rifiorirà la potenza della casa d'Israele, e ti darò d'aprir la bocca in mezzo ad essi: e sapranno che io sono il Signore ».	21 On that day I will make a horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will cause you to speak out in their midst; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
