Isaia 60

BIBBIA TINTORI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Sorgi, e ricevi la luce, o Gerusalemme: la tua luce brilla, e sopra te è spuntata la gloria del Signore.	1 Arise, be enlightened, O Jerusalem: for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 Ecco: le tenebre copriranno la terra, la caligine i popoli, ma sopra di te sorgerà il Signore, sopra di te si vedrà la sua gloria.	2 For behold darkness shall cover the earth, and a mist the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 Le nazioni cammineranno alla tua luce, i re allo splendore che da te emana.	3 And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light, and kings in the brightness of thy rising.
4 Gira intorno lo sguardo e mira: tutti si son raccolti per venire a te: da lungi verranno i tuoi figli, e le tue figlie ti sorgeranno a lato.	4 Lift up thy eyes round about, and see: all these are gathered together, they are come to thee: thy sons shah come from afar, and thy daughters shall rise up at thy side.
5 Allora tu vedrai e sarai piena di gioia; si maraviglierà, si dilaterà il tuo cuore, quando verso di te si rivolgeranno i popoli del mare, le potenze dell© nazioni a te verranno.	5 Then shalt thou see, and abound, and thy heart shall wonder and be enlarged, when the multitude of the sea shall be converted to thee, the. strength of the Gentiles shall come to thee.
6 Tu sarai inondata da numero sterminato di cammelli: i dromedari di Madian e d'Efa, tutti quelli di Saba verranno a portar oro e incenso, a celebrar le lodi del Signore.	6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Madian and Epha: all they from Saba shall come, bringing gold and frankincense: and shewing forth praise to the Lord.
7 Tutti i greggi di Cedar radunati per te, gli arieti di Nabaiot saranno usati a tuo servizio, saranno offerti sul mio altare propiziatorio, ed io glorificherò la casa della mia gloria.	7 All the flocks of Cedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nabaioth shall minister to thee: they shall be offered upon my acceptable altar, and I will glorify the house of my majesty.
8 Chi son costoro che volan come nuvole? come colombe alle loro colombaie?	8 Who are these, that fly as clouds, and as doves to their windows?
9 Me aspettano le isole, e prima degli altri le navi del mare, per farmi condurre i tuoi figli da lontano, con il loro argento e il loro oro, al nome del Signore Dio tuo, al Santo d'Israele che ti ha glorificata.	9 For, the islands wait for me, and the ships of the sea in the beginning: that I may bring thy sons from afar: their silver, and their gold with them, to the name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
10 E i figli degli stranieri edificheranno le tue mura, e i loro re ti serviranno: nel mio sdegno io ti percossi, ma, riconciliandomi, ti ho usata misericordia.	10 And the children of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister to thee: for in my wrath have I struck thee, and in my reconciliation have I had mercy upon thee.
11 E le tue porte saran sempre aperte, non saran chiuse nè di giorno nè di notte, affinchè ti sia condotta la forza delle nazioni, e ti sian menati i loro re.	11 And thy gates shall be open continually: they shall not be shut day nor night, that the strength of the Gentiles may be brought to thee, and their kings may be brought.
12 La nazione e e il regno che non ti servirà perirà, quelle nazioni saranno interamente distrutte.	12 For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve thee, shall perish: and the Gentiles shall be wasted with desolation.
13 A te verrà la gloria del Libano, l'abete, il bossolo, il pino, tutti insieme ad abbellire il mio santuario, ed io glorificherò il luogo ove posano i miei piedi.	13 The glory of Libanus shall come to thee, the Ar tree, and the box tree, and the pine tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary: and I will glorify the place of my feet.
14 Curvi a te verranno i figli di coloro che ti hanno umiliata, quelli che ti denigravano adoreranno le orme dei tuoi piedi, e ti chiameranno la città del Signore, la Sion del Santo d'Israele.	14 And the children of them that afflict thee, shall come bowing down to thee, and all that slandered thee shall worship the steps of thy feet, and shall call thee the city of the Lord, the Sion of the Holy One of Israel.
15 Perchè fosti abbandonata, odiata e senza chi passasse per te, io ti farò gloria dei secoli, gioia di tutte le generazioni	15 Because thou wast forsaken, and hated, and there was none that passed through thee, I will make thee to be an everlasting glory, a joy unto generation and generation:
16 e succhierai il latte delle nazioni, sarai allattata al petto dei re, e conoscerai ch'io sono il Signore tuo Salvatore, il tuo Redentore, il Forte di Giacobbe.	16 And thou shalt suck the milk of the Gentiles, and thou shalt be nursed with the breasts of kings: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
17 Invece del bronzo porterò l'oro, invece del ferro porterò l'argento, in luogo del legno il bronzo, invece delle pietre il ferro, e metterò a governarti la pace, e a tuo magistrato la giustizia.	17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver: and for wood brass, and for stones iron: and I will make thy visitation peace, and thy overseers justice.
18 Non si sentirà più parlare d'iniquità nella tua terra, di rapine, di rovine dentro i tuoi confini, nelle tue muraglie starà la salvezza, nelle tue porte i cantici di lode.	18 Iniquity shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction in thy borders, and salvation shall possess thy walls, and praise thy gates.
19 Il sole non sarà più la tua luce di giorno, non ti rischiarerà lo splendore della luna; ma il Signore sarà la tua eterna luce, il tuo Dio sarà la tua gloria.	19 Thou shalt no more have the sun for thy light by day, neither shall the brightness of the moon enlighten thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and thy God for thy glory.
20 Il tuo sole non tramonterà mai, non diminuirà la tua luna; perchè il Signore ti sarà eterna luce, e saran finiti i giorni del tuo pianto.	20 Thy sun shall go down no more, and thy moon shall not decrease: for the Lord shall be unto thee for an everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
21 Tuo popolo saranno tutti i giusti, possederanno in eterno la terra, essi, germi piantati da me, opera delle mie mani, mia gloria.	21 And thy people shall be all just, they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hand to glorify me.
22 Il più piccolo diventerà mille, il pargoletto una fortissima nazione: io, il Signore, a suo tempo mi affretterò a fare queste cose.	22 The least shall become a thousand, and a little one a most strong nation: I the Lord will suddenly do this thing in its time.
