Isaia 38

1 In quel tempo Ezechia cadde in una malattia mortale, e il profeta Isaia figlio di Amos, andato a trovarlo, gli disse: « Così dice il Signore: — Metti in ordine le tue cose, perchè tu morrai e non potrai vivere ».	1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Ezechia, voltata la faccia verso la parete, pregò il Signore,	2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,
3 dicendo: « Te me prego, o Signore, e ti scongiuro a ricordarti come io ho camminato dinanzi a te nella verità e con cuore perfetto, e che ho fatto ciò che è buono dinanzi ai tuoi occhi ». Ezechia si mise a piangere dirottamente.	3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 E il Signore rivolse la parola ad Isaia, dicendo:	4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,
5 « Va a dire ad Ezechia: Il Signore Dio di David tuo padre dice cosi: — Ho ascoltata la tua preghiera, ho vedute le tue lacrime, ed ecco aggiungerò quindici anni alla tua vita,	5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
6 e libererò te e questa città dal re d'Assiria, e la proteggerò.	6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
7 Ecco da parte del Signore il segno che il Signore compirà questa sua parola:	7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that he hath spoken;
8 Io farò che l'ombra del sole, calata di dieci gradi sull'orologio a sole di Acaz, ritorni indietro di dieci gradi ». E il sole tornò indietro pei dieci gradi che aveva discesi.	8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
9 Scritto di Ezechia re di Giuda, quando, essendo malato, guari dalla sua infermità:	9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
10 « Io dissi: alla metà dei miei giorni dovrò andare alle porte dell'inferno. Ho cercato il resto dei miei anni:	10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
11 ho detto: Non vedrò il Signore Dio nella terra dei viventi: non vedrò più gli uomini e gli abitatori della quiete.	11 I said, I shall not see the LORD, even the LORD, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
12 La mia vita mi è tolta, portata lungi da me, come la tenda di un pastore. La mia vita è tagliata come dal tessitore la tela. Mentre io ordiva mi ha reciso: dalla mattina alla sera mi finirai.	12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd's tent: I have cut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
13 Io speravo fino al mattino, ma egli come leone ha stritolate tutte le mie ossa. Dalla mattina, alla sera mi finirai.	13 I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
14 Io grido come rondinino, io gemo come colomba. I miei occhi si sono stancati a guardare in alto. Signore, sono oppresso, prendimi sotto la tua protezione.	14 Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O LORD, I am oppressed; undertake for me.
15 Che potrò dire? Come potrà prendermi sotto la sua protezione, se egli stesso ha fatto questo? Dinanzi a te ripenserò a tutti gli anni miei nell'amarezza dell'anima mia.	15 What shall I say? he hath both spoken unto me, and himself hath done it: I shall go softly all my years in the bitterness of my soul.
16 Signore, se tale è la vita, se in tali cose è posta la vita del mio spirito, correggimi e rendimi la vita.	16 O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.
17 Ecco si cangia in pace la mia più grande amarezza; tu hai liberata l'anima mia dalla perdizione, ti sei gettati dietro le spalle tutti i miei peccati.	17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
18 Certo non ti glorificherà l'inferno, non ti loderà la morte, nè quelli che scendono nella fossa spereranno nella tua verità.	18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
19 I vivi, i vivi canteranno le tue lodi, come fo io in questo giorno: il padre farà conoscere ai figli la tua verità.	19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
20 Signore, salvami, e noi canteremo i nostri cantici per tutti i giorni di nostra vita nella casa del Signore ».	20 The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
21 E Isaia fece portare una mas­sa di fichi, ne fece fare un impiastro sulla piaga, per guarirla.	21 For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.
22 E Ezechia disse: « Qual segno m'assicurerà di salire alla casa del Signore? »	22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?
