1 Tra i figli d'Israele fa accostare a te Aronne tuo fratello coi suoi figli, affinchè esercitino le funzioni del sacerdozio davanti a me: Aronne, Nadab, Abiu, Eleazar e Itamar.	1 "From among the Israelites have your brother Aaron, together with his sons Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, brought to you, that they may be my priests.
2 Farai ad Aronne tuo fratello un paramento sacro a gloria ed ornamento.	2 For the glorious adornment of your brother Aaron you shall have sacred vestments made.
3 E parlerai a tutti gli uomini d'ingegno, a quelli che io ho ripieni di spirito di sapienza, perchè facciano i paramenti di Aronne, onde, con sacrato, possa esercitar il mio sacerdozio.	3 Therefore, to the various expert workmen whom I have endowed with skill, you shall give instructions to make such vestments for Aaron as will set him apart for his sacred service as my priest.
4 Ecco i paramenti che faranno: il Razionale, l'Efod, il manto, la tunica di lino stretta, la tiara e la cintura. Questi paramenti sacri saran fatti ad Aronne tuo fratello ed ai suoi figli, affinchè mi esercitino le funzioni del sacerdozio,	4 These are the vestments they shall make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a brocaded tunic, a miter and a sash. In making these sacred vestments which your brother Aaron and his sons are to wear in serving as my priests,
5 se sarà usato l'oro, il giacinto, la porpora, il cocco tinto due volte e il bisso.	5 they shall use gold, violet, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen.
6 L'Efod sarà d'oro, di giacinto, di porpora, di cocco tinto due volte, di bisso ritorto e tessuto a, vari colori;	6 "The ephod they shall make of gold thread and of violet, purple and scarlet yarn, embroidered on cloth of fine linen twined.
7 avrà, a due lati delle sue sommità, due strisce congiunte in modo da formare un sol tutto.	7 It shall have a pair of shoulder straps joined to its two upper ends.
8 La cintura, e tutti i vari lavori saran d'oro, di giacinto,di porpora, di cocco tinto due volte e di bisso ritorto.	8 The embroidered belt of the ephod shall extend out from it and, like it, be made of gold thread, of violet, purple and scarlet yarn, and of fine linen twined.
9 Prese poi due pietre di onice, vi scolpirai sopra i nomi dei figli d'Israele:	9 "Get two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel:
10 sei nomi sopra una pietra, e gli altri sei sopra l'altra pietra, secondo il loro ordine di nascita.	10 six of their names on one stone, and the other six on the other stone, in the order of their birth.
11 Col lavoro dello scultore e del cesellatore scolpirai sopra di esse i nomi dei figli d'Israele, dopo averle incastrate in castoni d'oro;	11 As a gem-cutter engraves a seal, so shall you have the two stones engraved with the names of the sons of Israel and then mounted in gold filigree work.
12 e le metterai sui due lati dell'Efod, come ricordo per i figli d'Israele. Così Aronne porterà, sopra le spalle i loro nomi dinanzi al Signore, perchè sian ricordati.	12 Set these two stones on the shoulder straps of the ephod as memorial stones of the sons of Israel. Thus Aaron shall bear their names on his shoulders as a reminder before the LORD.
13 Farai pure due uncini d'oro,	13 Make filigree rosettes of gold,
14 e due catenelle d'oro purissimo attorcigliate a cordoncino, e le attaccherai agli uncini.	14 as well as two chains of pure gold, twisted like cords, and fasten the cordlike chains to the filigree rosettes.
15 Anche il Razionale del giudizio lo farai a più colori, tessuto, come l'Efod, di oro, di giacinto, porpora, cocco tinto due volte e di bisso ritorto.	15 "The breastpiece of decision you shall also have made, embroidered like the ephod with gold thread and violet, purple and scarlet yarn on cloth of fine linen twined.
16 Sarà quadrato e doppio; avrà un palmo di lunghezza, come di larghezza.	16 It is to be square when folded double, a span high and a span wide.
17 In esso incastonerai quattro ordini di pietre: nel primo ordine vi sarà un sardonio, un topazio, uno smeraldo;	17 On it you shall mount four rows of precious stones: in the first row, a carnelian, a topaz and an emerald;
18 nel secondo un rubino, uno zaffiro, un diaspro;	18 in the second row, a garnet, a sapphire and a beryl;
19 nel terzo un opale, un'agata, un'ametista;	19 in the third row, a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst;
20 nel quarto un crisolito, un onice, un berillo: queste saranno incastonate nell'oro, ordine per ordine,	20 in the fourth row, a chrysolite, an onyx and a jasper. These stones are to be mounted in gold filigree work,
21 porteranno i nomi dei figli d'Israele: vi saranno scolpiti dodici nomi: in ciascuna pietra il nome di una delle dodici tribù.	21 twelve of them to match the names of the sons of Israel, each stone engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
22 Farai al Razionale delle catenelle d'oro purissimo, attorcigliate a cordoncino,	22 "When the chains of pure gold, twisted like cords, have been made for the breastpiece,
23 e due anelli d'oro da mettersi all'estremità superiori del Razionale:	23 you shall then make two rings of gold for it and fasten them to the two upper ends of the breastpiece.
24 farai quindi passare le catenelle d'oro per gli anelli, che sono all'estremità del Razionale,	24 The gold cords are then to be fastened to the two rings at the upper ends of the breastpiece,
25 e fisserai i capi delle catenelle ai due uncini nei due lati dell'Efod che guardano il Razionale.	25 the other two ends of the cords being fastened in front to the two filigree rosettes which are attached to the shoulder straps of the ephod.
26 Farai pure due anelli d'oro, da mettersi all'estremità del Razionale, sugli orli che stan di faccia all'Efod e sono volti dalla parte di dietro.	26 Make two other rings of gold and put them on the two lower ends of the breastpiece, on its edge that faces the ephod.
27 Poi due altri anelli d'oro, da mettersi in basso ai due lati dell'Efod che son dirimpetto alla giuntura, affinchè (il Razionale) possa adattarsi all'Efod,	27 Then make two more rings of gold and fasten them to the bottom of the shoulder straps next to where they join the ephod in front, just above its embroidered belt.
28 sia poi stretto coi suoi anelli agli anelli dell'Efod mediante un nastro di giacinto, e la legatura sia talmente fatta bene da star ferma in modo che il Razionale e l'Efod non possano separarsi l'uno dall'altro.	28 Violet ribbons shall bind the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod, so that the breastpiece will stay right above the embroidered belt of the ephod and not swing loose from it.
29 Così Aronne, quando entrerà nel santuario, nel Razionale del giudizio sopra il petto, porterà i nomi dei figli d'Israele, per memoria eterna davanti al Signore.	29 "Whenever Aaron enters the sanctuary, he will thus bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastpiece of decision over his heart as a constant reminder before the LORD.
30 E sul Razionale del giudizio metterai: Dottrina e Verità, e staranno sul petto d'Aronne, quando egli entrerà alla presenza del Signore. Così porterà sempre sul petto il giudizio dei figli d'Israele al cospetto del Signore.	30 In this breastpiece of decision you shall put the Urim and Thummim, that they may be over Aaron's heart whenever he enters the presence of the LORD. Thus he shall always bear the decisions for the Israelites over his heart in the LORD'S presence.
31 Farai pure la tonaca dell'Efod, tutta di giacinto,	31 "The robe of the ephod you shall make entirely of violet material.
32 e avrà in mezzo, in alto, un'apertura, intorno alla, quale vi sarà un orlo tessuto come si usa all'estremità delle vesti, e ciò affinchè non si strappi tanto facilmente.	32 It shall have an opening for the head in the center, and around this opening there shall be a selvage, woven as at the opening of a shirt, to keep it from being torn.
33 Ma in basso, alla estremità inferiore della tonaca, tutt'intorno, farai una, specie di melagrane di giacinto, di porpora e di cocco tinto due volte, alternate con sonagli,	33 All around the hem at the bottom you shall make pomegranates, woven of violet, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen twined, with gold bells between them;
34 fin modo che vi sia un sonaglio d'oro e una melagrana, poi un altro sonaglio d'oro e una melagrana.	34 first a gold bell, then a pomegranate, and thus alternating all around the hem of the robe.
35 E Aronne la indosserà nelle funzioni del suo ministero, affinchè si senta il suono quando egli entra nel santuario al cospetto di Dio e quando ne esce, e così non muoia.	35 Aaron shall wear it when ministering, that its tinkling may be heard as he enters and leaves the LORD'S presence in the sanctuary; else he will die.
36 Farai ancora una lamina d'oro finissimo, in cui farai incidere a bulino: «La santità del Signore ».	36 "You shall also make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it, as on a seal engraving, 'Sacred to the LORD.'
37 La fisserai con un nastro di giacinto sopra la tiara,	37 This plate is to be tied over the miter with a violet ribbon in such a way that it rests on the front of the miter,
38 vicino alla fronte del pontefice. E Aronne porterà le iniquità commesse dai figli d'Israele in tutte le oblazioni e nei doni che avranno offerti e consacrati. Questa lamina starà sempre sulla di lui fronte, affinchè sia verso di loro placato il Signore.	38 over Aaron's forehead. Since Aaron bears whatever guilt the Israelites may incur in consecrating any of their sacred gifts, this plate must always be over his forehead, so that they may find favor with the LORD.
39 Farai di bisso la tonaca stretta e la tiara, e farai a lavoro di ricamo la cintura.	39 "The tunic of fine linen shall be brocaded. The miter shall be made of fine linen. The sash shall be of variegated work.
40 Ma ai figli di Aronne farai delle tonache di lino, e delle cinture e delle tiare a gloria e ornamento.	40 "Likewise, for the glorious adornment of Aaron's sons you shall have tunics and sashes and turbans made.
41 Farai indossare questi vestimenti ad Aronne tuo fratello e ai suoi figli; e ne consacrerai le mani, e li santificherai, affinchè mi esercitino il sacerdozio.	41 With these you shall clothe your brother Aaron and his sons. Anoint and ordain them, consecrating them as my priests.
42 Farai loro anche dei calzoni di lino, onde coprano la nudità della loro carne dai lombi fino alle cosce.	42 You must also make linen drawers for them, to cover their naked flesh from their loins to their thighs.
43 E Aronne e i suoi figli le porteranno quando entreranno nel Tabernacolo della testimonianza e quando s'accosteranno all'altare per servire nel santuario, affinchè, rendendosi colpevoli, non muoiano. Questa sarà legge sempi terna per Aronne e per i suoi discendenti dopo di lui.	43 Aaron and his sons shall wear them whenever they go into the meeting tent or approach the altar to minister in the sanctuary, lest they incur guilt and die. This shall be a perpetual ordinance for him and for his descendants.
