Prima lettera ai Corinzi 12

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Intorno ai doni spirituali poi, o fratelli, non voglio che siate nell'ignoranza.	1 About the gifts of the Spirit, brothers, I want you to be quite certain.
2 Voi sapete che quando eravate Gentili, correvate dietro agli idoli muti secondo che eravate trascinati.	2 You remember that, when you were pagans, you were irresistibly drawn to inarticulate heathen gods.
3 Per questo vi fo sapere, che nessuno che parli nello Spirito di Dio, dice: «Anàtema a Gesù»; e nessuno può dire: «Signore Gesù» se non in Spirito Santo.	3 Because of that, I want to make it quite clear to you that no one who says 'A curse on Jesus' can bespeaking in the Spirit of God, and nobody is able to say, 'Jesus is Lord' except in the Holy Spirit.
4 E vi sono differenze di carismi, ma lo Spirito è uno solo;	4 There are many different gifts, but it is always the same Spirit;
5 e differenze di ministeri, ma il Signore è il medesimo;	5 there are many different ways of serving, but it is always the same Lord.
6 e differenze di operazioni, ma è lo stesso Dio che opera ogni cosa in tutti.	6 There are many different forms of activity, but in everybody it is the same God who is at work in themal .
7 A ciascuno è stata concessa la manifestazione dello Spirito per quel che è utile;	7 The particular manifestation of the Spirit granted to each one is to be used for the general good.
8 all'uno per via dello Spirito fu data la parola della sapienza, all'altro la parola della scienza secondo lo stesso Spirito.	8 To one is given from the Spirit the gift of utterance expressing wisdom; to another the gift of utteranceexpressing knowledge, in accordance with the same Spirit;
9 A un altro la fede nel medesimo Spirito; ad un altro ancora il dono delle guarigioni nell'unico Spirito;	9 to another, faith, from the same Spirit; and to another, the gifts of healing, through this one Spirit;
10 ad un altro ancora la potenza dei miracoli, ad un altro la profezia, ad un altro il discernimento degli spiriti, ad un altro le varietà delle lingue, ad un altro l'interpretazione delle lingue.	10 to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the power of distinguishingspirits; to one, the gift of different tongues and to another, the interpretation of tongues.
11 Orbene tutti questi effetti li produce l'unico e medesimo Spirito, che distribuisce a ciascuno secondo che vuole.	11 But at work in al these is one and the same Spirit, distributing them at wil to each individual.
12 Poichè, come il corpo è uno e ha molte membra, e tutte le membra del corpo pur essendo molte il corpo è uno, così anche Cristo;	12 For as with the human body which is a unity although it has many parts -- al the parts of the body,though many, stil making up one single body -- so it is with Christ.
13 poichè noi tutti, sia Giudei sia Gentili, sia schiavi sia liberi, in unico Spirito siamo stati battezzati sì da formare un corpo solo, e tutti siamo stati imbevuti di unico spirito.	13 We were baptised into one body in a single Spirit, Jews as wel as Greeks, slaves as wel as freemen, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.
14 Anche il nostro corpo non è un membro solo ma molte membra.	14 And indeed the body consists not of one member but of many.
15 Se dicesse il piede: «Siccome non sono mano, non son del corpo», cessa forse per questo di far parte del corpo?	15 If the foot were to say, 'I am not a hand and so I do not belong to the body,' it does not belong to thebody any the less for that.
16 E se l'orecchio dicesse: «Siccome non sono occhio, non sono del corpo», per questo cesserebbe di far parte del corpo?	16 Or if the ear were to say, 'I am not an eye, and so I do not belong to the body,' that would not stop itsbelonging to the body.
17 Se tutto il corpo fosse occhio dove sarebbe l'udito? e se tutto udito, dove l'odorato?	17 If the whole body were just an eye, how would there be any hearing? If the whole body were hearing,how would there be any smel ing?
18 Ora Iddio ha creato le membra, ognuna nel corpo com'egli volle;	18 As it is, God has put al the separate parts into the body as he chose.
19 se tutto si riducesse a un membro solo, dove sarebbe il corpo?	19 If they were al the same part, how could it be a body?
20 Invece le membra son molte e unico il corpo.	20 As it is, the parts are many but the body is one.
21 Nè può l'occhio dire alla mano: «Non ho bisogno di te»; nè la testa ai piedi : «Non ho bisogno di voi»;	21 The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you,' and nor can the head say to the feet, 'I haveno need of you.'
22 anzi le membra del corpo che paion più deboli sono molto più necessarie,	22 What is more, it is precisely the parts of the body that seem to be the weakest which are theindispensable ones.
23 e quelle che stimiamo di meno pregio, noi le circondiamo di onor maggiore, sicchè le parti meno decenti hanno decenza maggiore,	23 It is the parts of the body which we consider least dignified that we surround with the greatest dignity;and our less presentable parts are given greater presentability
24 e le parti più decenti non han bisogno di ciò. Ma Iddio compose l'organismo col dar maggior onore alle parti che ne mancavano,	24 which our presentable parts do not need. God has composed the body so that greater dignity isgiven to the parts which were without it,
25 affinchè non vi fosse divisione nel corpo, ma le membra avessero riguardo le une alle altre allo stesso modo.	25 and so that there may not be disagreements inside the body but each part may be equal y concernedfor all the others.
26 E se soffre un membro, tutti con esso soffrono, e se ha gloria un membro, tutte le membra con lui godono.	26 If one part is hurt, al the parts share its pain. And if one part is honoured, all the parts share its joy.
27 Or bene voi siete corpo di Cristo, e partitamente siete membra di esso.	27 Now Christ's body is yourselves, each of you with a part to play in the whole.
28 E alcuni pose Dio nella Chiesa, in primo luogo apostoli, poi profeti, in terzo luogo maestri, e poi quelli che fanno miracoli, e poi le grazie delle guarigioni, e il soccorrere, e l'amministrare, e il parlare ogni specie di lingua e il capirle.	28 And those whom God has appointed in the Church are, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdlyteachers; after them, miraculous powers, then gifts of healing, helpful acts, guidance, various kinds of tongues.
29 Forsechè son tutti apostoli? o tutti profeti? o tutti maestri?	29 Are al of them apostles? Or all prophets? Or all teachers? Or al miracle-workers?
30 o tutti uomini dei miracoli? o tutti hanno il dono delle guarigioni? o tutti parlano le lingue? o tutti interpretano?	30 Do al have the gifts of healing? Do al of them speak in tongues and al interpret them?
31 Voi aspirate ai migliori carismi. Ebbene, io vi indico ancora una via di gran lunga migliore.	31 Set your mind on the higher gifts. And now I am going to put before you the best way of all.
