1 - Al corifeo. Salmo di David.	1 [Psalm Of David When he was in the desert of Judah] God, you are my God, I pine for you; my heartthirsts for you, my body longs for you, as a land parched, dreary and waterless.
2 Ascolta, o Dio, la mia preghiera, quando ti supplico; dal timor del nemico libera la mia vita.	2 Thus I have gazed on you in the sanctuary, seeing your power and your glory.
3 Proteggimi dalle congiure de' malvagi, dalla turba degli operatori d'iniquità.	3 Better your faithful love than life itself; my lips wil praise you.
4 Perchè affilan come una spada le loro lingue, tendon [come] un arco l'acerba parola,	4 Thus I will bless you al my life, in your name lift up my hands.
5 per saettare in agguato l'innocente; all'improvviso lo saettano, e non hanno paura.	5 Al my longings fulfil ed as with fat and rich foods, a song of joy on my lips and praise in my mouth.
6 Si rafforzan nel loro pravo disegno, si concertan per tender ben nascosti i lacci, si dicono: «Chi li vedrà?».	6 On my bed when I think of you, I muse on you in the watches of the night,
7 Macchinan perfidie, vengon meno a forza di stillarsi il cervello, apre ciascuno il cuore a un orgoglio profondo.	7 for you have always been my help; in the shadow of your wings I rejoice;
8 Ma Dio sarà esaltato!frecce di fanciulli son le ferite [fatte] da essi,	8 my heart clings to you, your right hand supports me.
9 e le loro lingue rovinan su loro. Si turban quanti li vedono,	9 May those who are hounding me to death go down to the depths of the earth,
10 e ogni uomo è preso da timore. E raccontan le opere di Dio, e intendon le sue geste.	10 given over to the blade of the sword, and left as food for jackals.
