1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:	1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,
2 «Orsù, figlio dell’uomo, intona un lamento su Tiro.	2 'Son of man, raise the lament for Tyre.
3 Di’ a Tiro, alla città situata all’approdo del mare, che commercia con i popoli e con molte isole: Così dice il Signore Dio: Tiro, tu dicevi: “Io sono una nave di perfetta bellezza”.	3 Say to Tyre, "City enthroned at the gateway of the sea, agent between the peoples and the manyislands, Lord Yahweh says this: Tyre, you used to say: I am a ship perfect in beauty.
4 In mezzo ai mari è il tuo dominio. I tuoi costruttori ti hanno reso bellissima:	4 Your frontiers were far out to sea; those who built you made you perfect in beauty.
5 con cipressi del Senir hanno costruito tutte le tue fiancate, hanno preso il cedro del Libano per farti l’albero maestro;	5 Cypress from Senir they used for al your planking. They took a cedar from Lebanon to make a mastabove you.
6 i tuoi remi li hanno fatti con le querce di Basan; il ponte te lo hanno fatto d’avorio, intarsiato nell’abete delle isole di Chittìm.	6 From oaks of Bashan they made your oars. They built you a deck of cedar inlaid with ivory from theKittim isles.
7 Di lino ricamato d’Egitto era la tua vela che ti servisse d’insegna; di giacinto scarlatto delle isole di Elisa era il tuo padiglione.	7 Embroidered linen from Egypt was used for your sail and for your flag. Purple and scarlet from theElishah islands formed your deck-tent.
8 Gli abitanti di Sidone e di Arvad erano i tuoi rematori, i tuoi esperti, o Tiro, erano in te, come tuoi piloti.	8 The people of Sidon and Arvad were your oarsmen. The sages of Tyre were aboard, serving assailors.
9 Gli anziani di Biblo e i suoi esperti erano in te, per riparare le tue falle. Tutte le navi del mare e i loro marinai erano in te per scambiare merci.	9 The elders and craftsmen of Gebal were there to caulk your seams. "Every sea-going ship and crewfrequented you to guarantee your trade.
10 Guerrieri di Persia, di Lud e di Put erano nelle tue schiere, appendevano in te lo scudo e l’elmo, ti davano splendore.	10 Men from Persia, Lud and Put served as warriors in your army; hanging up shield and helmet in you,they displayed your splendour.
11 I figli di Arvad e il loro esercito erano intorno alle tue mura, vigilando sui tuoi bastioni; tutti appendevano intorno alle tue mura gli scudi, rendendo perfetta la tua bellezza.	11 The sons of Arvad with their army manned your wal s al round, while the Gammadians manned yourtowers; hanging their shields al round your walls, they completed your beauty.
12 Tarsis commerciava con te, per le tue ricchezze d’ogni specie, scambiando le tue merci con argento, ferro, stagno e piombo.	12 Tarshish traded with you because of your abundant resources and exchanged your merchandise forsilver, iron, tin and lead.
13 Anche Iavan, Tubal e Mesec commerciavano con te e scambiavano le tue merci con schiavi e oggetti di bronzo.	13 Javan, Tubal and Meshech traded with you. For your merchandise they traded slaves and bronzeartefacts.
14 Quelli di Togarmà ti fornivano in cambio cavalli da tiro, cavalli da corsa e muli.	14 The people of Beth-Togarmah traded your horses, chargers, mules.
15 Gli abitanti di Dedan trafficavano con te; il commercio delle molte isole era nelle tue mani: ti davano in pagamento zanne d’avorio ed ebano.	15 The people of Dedan traded with you; many islands were your customers and paid you in ivory tusksand ebony.
16 Aram commerciava con te per la moltitudine dei tuoi prodotti e pagava le tue merci con turchese, porpora, ricami, bisso, coralli e rubini.	16 Edom traded with you for the sake of your many manufactured goods, exchanging garnets, purple,embroideries, fine linen, coral and rubies for your goods.
17 Con te commerciavano Giuda e la terra d’Israele. Ti davano in cambio grano di Minnit, dolci, miele, olio e balsamo.	17 Judah and the land of Israel also traded with you, bringing corn from Minnith, pannag, honey, oil andbalm.
18 Damasco trafficava con te per i tuoi numerosi prodotti, per i tuoi beni di ogni specie, scambiando vino di Chelbon e lana di Sacar.	18 Damascus traded with you, for quantities of your manufactured goods and other goods of al kinds,furnishing you with wine from Helbon and wool from Zahar.
19 Vedan e Iavan da Uzal ti fornivano ferro lavorato, cassia e canna aromatica in cambio dei tuoi prodotti.	19 Dan and Javan, from Uzal onwards, supplied you with wrought iron, cassia and reeds in exchangefor your goods.
20 Dedan trafficava con te in coperte di cavalli.	20 Dedan traded with you in saddle-cloths.
21 L’Arabia e tutti i prìncipi di Kedar commerciavano con te: negoziavano con te agnelli, montoni e capri.	21 Arabia and al the sheikhs of Kedar were your customers; they paid in lambs, rams and he-goats.
22 I mercanti di Saba e di Raamà trafficavano con te, scambiando le tue merci con i più squisiti aromi, con ogni sorta di pietre preziose e con oro.	22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah traded with you; they supplied you with the finest spices,precious stones and gold for your merchandise.
23 Carran, Canne, Eden, i mercanti di Saba, Assur, Chilmad trafficavano con te.	23 Haran, Canneh and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad traded with you.
24 Al tuo mercato scambiavano con te vesti di lusso, mantelli di porpora e di broccato, tappeti tessuti a vari colori, funi ritorte e robuste.	24 They traded rich clothes, embroidered and purple cloaks, multi-coloured materials and strong plaitedcords for your markets.
25 Le navi di Tarsis viaggiavano portando le tue mercanzie. Così divenisti ricca e gloriosa in mezzo ai mari.	25 Ships of Tarshish sailed on your business; you were ful and heavily loaded far out to sea.
26 In alto mare ti condussero i tuoi rematori, ma il vento d’oriente ti ha travolto in mezzo ai mari.	26 Out to the open sea your oarsmen rowed you. The east wind has wrecked you far out to sea.
27 Le tue ricchezze, i tuoi beni e il tuo traffico, i tuoi marinai e i tuoi piloti, i riparatori delle tue avarie, i trafficanti delle tue merci, tutti i guerrieri che sono in te e tutta la turba che è in mezzo a te piomberanno nel fondo dei mari, il giorno della tua caduta.	27 Your riches, your goods, your cargo, your seamen, your sailors, your caulkers, your commercialagents, all the warriors you carry, and al the passengers who are aboard wil founder far out to sea on the day ofyour shipwreck.
28 All’udire il grido dei tuoi nocchieri tremeranno le spiagge.	28 When they hear the cries of your sailors the coasts wil tremble.
29 Scenderanno dalle loro navi quanti maneggiano il remo: i marinai e tutti i piloti del mare resteranno a terra.	29 Then the oarsmen will al desert their ships. The sailors and seafaring people wil stay ashore.
30 Faranno sentire il lamento su di te e grideranno amaramente, si getteranno sulla testa la polvere, si rotoleranno nella cenere.	30 They will raise their voices for you and weep bitterly. They wil throw dust on their heads and roll inashes;
31 Si raderanno i capelli per te e vestiranno di sacco; per te piangeranno nell’amarezza dell’anima con amaro cordoglio.	31 they wil shave their heads for you and put sackcloth round their waists. With heartfelt bitterness theywil weep for you, bitterly wail.
32 Piangendo intoneranno su di te un lamento, su di te comporranno elegie: “Chi era come Tiro, ora distrutta in mezzo al mare?	32 Wailing, they will raise the lament for you, they wil lament over you: Who is like Tyre, far out to sea?
33 Quando dai mari giungevano le tue mercanzie, saziavi tanti popoli; con l’abbondanza delle tue ricchezze e del tuo commercio arricchivi i re della terra.	33 When you unloaded your goods to satisfy so many peoples, you enriched the kings of the earth withyour excess of wealth and goods.
34 Ora tu giaci travolta dai flutti nelle profondità delle acque: il tuo carico e tutto il tuo equipaggio sono sommersi con te.	34 Now you have been wrecked by the waves, by the depths of the sea. Your cargo and all yourpassengers have foundered with you.
35 Tutti gli abitanti delle isole sono rimasti spaventati per te e i loro re, colpiti dal terrore, hanno il viso sconvolto.	35 Al those who live in the islands wil be stunned at your fate. Their kings wil quake with horror, withdowncast expressions.
36 I mercanti dei popoli fischiano di orrore su di te, sei divenuta oggetto di terrore, finita per sempre”».	36 The merchants of the nations wil whistle at your fate. You wil be an object of terror, gone for ever." '
