Geremia 33

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 La parola del Signore fu rivolta una seconda volta a Geremia, mentre egli era ancora chiuso nell’atrio della prigione:	1 Jeremiah was stil confined to the Court of the Guard when the word of Yahweh came to him a secondtime, as follows,
2 «Così dice il Signore, che ha fatto la terra e l’ha formata per renderla stabile, e il cui nome è Signore:	2 'Yahweh who made the earth, who formed it and set it firm -- Yahweh is his name -- says this,
3 Invocami, e io ti risponderò e ti annuncerò cose grandi e impenetrabili, che non conosci.	3 "Call to me and I wil answer you; I wil tell you great secrets of which you know nothing.
4 Poiché dice il Signore, Dio d’Israele: Le case di questa città e i palazzi dei re di Giuda saranno demoliti dalle macchine di assedio e dalle armi	4 For this is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about the houses of this city and the palaces of the kingsof Judah which are about to be destroyed by means of the earthworks and the sword;
5 dei Caldei venuti a fare guerra, e saranno riempite dei cadaveri di quanti ho colpito nella mia ira e nel mio furore, poiché ho nascosto il volto a questa città per tutta la sua malvagità.	5 about those now fighting the Chaldaeans, only to fill the city with corpses, those whom I haveslaughtered in my furious anger, those whose wickedness has made me hide my face from this city:
6 Ma ecco, io farò rimarginare la loro piaga, li curerò e li risanerò; procurerò loro abbondanza di pace e di sicurezza.	6 Look, I shal bring them remedy and cure; I shal cure them and reveal a new order of peace and loyaltyto them.
7 Cambierò la sorte di Giuda e la sorte d’Israele e li ristabilirò come al principio.	7 I shal bring back the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel and shal rebuild them as before.
8 Li purificherò da tutti i crimini di cui si sono resi colpevoli contro di me e perdonerò tutte le iniquità commesse ribellandosi contro di me.	8 I shal cleanse them of al their guilt, by which they have offended me, I shal forgive al their guiltyactions, by which they have offended me and rebelled against me.
9 E questo sarà per me titolo di gioia, di lode e di gloria tra tutti i popoli della terra, quando udranno tutto il bene che io faccio loro, e si stupiranno e fremeranno per tutto il bene e per tutta la pace che concederò loro.	9 And, for me, Jerusalem wil become a name of joy and praise and pride for all the nations on earth tosee; when they hear of al the prosperity that I shal give, they wil be seized with fear and trembling at al theprosperity and the peace that I provide for it."
10 Così dice il Signore: Di questo luogo voi dite: “È desolato, senza uomini e senza bestiame”; ma si udranno ancora nelle città di Giuda e nelle strade di Gerusalemme, ora desolate, senza uomini, senza abitanti e senza bestiame,	10 'Yahweh says this, "In this place of which you now say: It is a ruin, without human or animal, in thetowns of Judah and desolate streets of Jerusalem where there is neither human nor animal, once more wil beheard
11 il canto della gioia e dell’allegria, il canto dello sposo e il canto della sposa, e la voce di coloro che cantano: “Rendete grazie al Signore degli eserciti, perché il suo amore è per sempre”, e porteranno sacrifici di ringraziamento nel tempio del Signore. Sì, io ristabilirò la sorte di questo paese come era al principio, dice il Signore.	11 shouts of rejoicing and mirth, the voices of bridegroom and bride, and the singing of those who bringthanksgiving sacrifices to the Temple of Yahweh: Give thanks to Yahweh Sabaoth, for Yahweh is good, for hisfaithful love is everlasting. For I shal bring back the country's captives, as before, Yahweh says."
12 Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: In questo luogo desolato, senza uomini e senza bestiame, e in tutte le sue città, vi saranno ancora dei pascoli dove i pastori faranno riposare le greggi,	12 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In this ruinous place, without human or animal, in al its towns, onceagain there wil be pastures for the shepherds to rest their flocks.
13 e nelle città della montagna e della Sefela, nelle città del Negheb e di Beniamino, nei dintorni di Gerusalemme e nelle città di Giuda passeranno ancora le pecore sotto la mano di chi le conta, dice il Signore.	13 In the towns of the highlands, of the lowlands and the Negeb, in the territory of Benjamin, in thedistricts round Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, once again the flocks shal pass under the hand ofsomeone who counts them, Yahweh says.
14 Ecco, verranno giorni – oracolo del Signore – nei quali io realizzerò le promesse di bene che ho fatto alla casa d’Israele e alla casa di Giuda.	14 "Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal fulfil the promise of happiness I made tothe House of Israel and the House of Judah:
15 In quei giorni e in quel tempo farò germogliare per Davide un germoglio giusto, che eserciterà il giudizio e la giustizia sulla terra.	15 In those days and at that time, I shal make an upright Branch grow for David, who wil do what is just and upright in the country.
16 In quei giorni Giuda sarà salvato e Gerusalemme vivrà tranquilla, e sarà chiamata: Signore-nostra-giustizia.	16 In those days Judah will triumph and Israel live in safety. And this is the name the city will be cal ed:Yahweh-is-our-Saving-Justice."
17 Infatti così dice il Signore: Non mancherà a Davide un discendente che sieda sul trono della casa d’Israele;	17 'For Yahweh says this, "David wil never lack a male descendant to occupy the throne of the House ofIsrael,
18 ai sacerdoti leviti non mancherà mai chi stia davanti a me per offrire olocausti, per bruciare l’incenso in offerta e compiere sacrifici tutti i giorni».	18 nor will the levitical priests ever lack male descendants to stand before me and offer the burntoffering, to burn the cereal offering and offer sacrifice every day." '
19 Fu rivolta poi a Geremia questa parola del Signore:	19 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,
20 «Dice il Signore: Se voi potete infrangere la mia alleanza con il giorno e la mia alleanza con la notte, in modo che non vi siano più giorno e notte,	20 'Yahweh says this, "If you could break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night sothat day and night do not come at their due time,
21 allora potrà essere infranta anche la mia alleanza con il mio servo Davide, in modo che non abbia più un figlio che regni sul suo trono, e quella con i leviti sacerdoti che mi servono.	21 then my covenant with David my servant might also be broken and he would have no son to reign onhis throne, and so also might my covenant with the levitical priests, who are my ministers.
22 Come non si può contare l’esercito del cielo né misurare la sabbia del mare, così io moltiplicherò la discendenza di Davide, mio servo, e i leviti che mi servono».	22 As surely as the array of heaven cannot be counted, nor the sand of the sea be measured, so surelyshall I increase the heirs of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me." '
23 Fu rivolta a Geremia questa parola del Signore:	23 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,
24 «Non hai osservato ciò che questo popolo va dicendo? Essi dicono: “Il Signore ha rigettato le due famiglie che si era scelte!”. Così disprezzano il mio popolo, quasi che non sia più una nazione ai loro occhi.	24 'Have you not noticed what these people say, "The two families which Yahweh chose he has nowrejected"? So they despise my people, whom they no longer think of as a nation.
25 Dice il Signore: Se non sussistesse più la mia alleanza con il giorno e con la notte, se non avessi stabilito io le leggi del cielo e della terra,	25 Yahweh says this, "If I have not created day and night and fixed the laws governing heaven and earth,
26 in tal caso potrei rigettare la discendenza di Giacobbe e del mio servo Davide, così da non prendere più dai loro discendenti coloro che governeranno sulla discendenza di Abramo, di Isacco e di Giacobbe. Invece io cambierò la loro sorte e avrò pietà di loro».	26 why, then I shal reject the descendants of Jacob and of David my servant and cease to choose rulersfrom his descendants for the heirs of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! For I shal bring back their captives and takepity on them." '
