BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Dio benedisse Noè e i suoi figli e disse loro: «Siate fecondi e moltiplicatevi e riempite la terra.	1 God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, 'Breed, multiply and fil the earth.
2 Il timore e il terrore di voi sia in tutti gli animali della terra e in tutti gli uccelli del cielo. Quanto striscia sul suolo e tutti i pesci del mare sono dati in vostro potere.	2 Be the terror and the dread of al the animals on land and al the birds of heaven, of everything thatmoves on land and all the fish of the sea; they are placed in your hands.
3 Ogni essere che striscia e ha vita vi servirà di cibo: vi do tutto questo, come già le verdi erbe.	3 Every living thing that moves wil be yours to eat, no less than the foliage of the plants. I give youeverything,
4 Soltanto non mangerete la carne con la sua vita, cioè con il suo sangue.	4 with this exception: you must not eat flesh with life, that is to say blood, in it.
5 Del sangue vostro, ossia della vostra vita, io domanderò conto; ne domanderò conto a ogni essere vivente e domanderò conto della vita dell’uomo all’uomo, a ognuno di suo fratello.	5 And I shal demand account of your life-blood, too. I shall demand it of every animal, and of man. Ofman as regards his fel ow-man, I shal demand account for human life.
6 Chi sparge il sangue dell’uomo, dall’uomo il suo sangue sarà sparso, perché a immagine di Dio è stato fatto l’uomo.	6 He who sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for in the image of God was mancreated.
7 E voi, siate fecondi e moltiplicatevi, siate numerosi sulla terra e dominatela».	7 Be fruitful then and multiply, teem over the earth and subdue it!'
8 Dio disse a Noè e ai suoi figli con lui:	8 God spoke as fol ows to Noah and his sons,
9 «Quanto a me, ecco io stabilisco la mia alleanza con voi e con i vostri discendenti dopo di voi,	9 'I am now establishing my covenant with you and with your descendants to come,
10 con ogni essere vivente che è con voi, uccelli, bestiame e animali selvatici, con tutti gli animali che sono usciti dall’arca, con tutti gli animali della terra.	10 and with every living creature that was with you: birds, cattle and every wild animal with you;everything that came out of the ark, every living thing on earth.
11 Io stabilisco la mia alleanza con voi: non sarà più distrutta alcuna carne dalle acque del diluvio, né il diluvio devasterà più la terra».	11 And I shal maintain my covenant with you: that never again shal all living things be destroyed by thewaters of a flood, nor shal there ever again be a flood to devastate the earth.'
12 Dio disse: «Questo è il segno dell’alleanza, che io pongo tra me e voi e ogni essere vivente che è con voi, per tutte le generazioni future.	12 'And this', God said, 'is the sign of the covenant which I now make between myself and you and everyliving creature with you for al ages to come:
13 Pongo il mio arco sulle nubi, perché sia il segno dell’alleanza tra me e la terra.	13 I now set my bow in the clouds and it wil be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
14 Quando ammasserò le nubi sulla terra e apparirà l’arco sulle nubi,	14 When I gather the clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds,
15 ricorderò la mia alleanza che è tra me e voi e ogni essere che vive in ogni carne, e non ci saranno più le acque per il diluvio, per distruggere ogni carne.	15 I shal recall the covenant between myself and you and every living creature, in a word al living things,and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy al living things.
16 L’arco sarà sulle nubi, e io lo guarderò per ricordare l’alleanza eterna tra Dio e ogni essere che vive in ogni carne che è sulla terra».	16 When the bow is in the clouds I shall see it and call to mind the eternal covenant between God andevery living creature on earth, that is, al living things.'
17 Disse Dio a Noè: «Questo è il segno dell’alleanza che io ho stabilito tra me e ogni carne che è sulla terra».	17 'That', God told Noah, 'is the sign of the covenant I have established between myself and al livingthings on earth.'
18 I figli di Noè che uscirono dall’arca furono Sem, Cam e Iafet; Cam è il padre di Canaan.	18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth-Ham being the father ofCanaan.
19 Questi tre sono i figli di Noè e da questi fu popolata tutta la terra.	19 These three were Noah's sons, and from these the whole earth was peopled.
20 Ora Noè, coltivatore della terra, cominciò a piantare una vigna.	20 Noah, a til er of the soil, was the first to plant the vine.
21 Avendo bevuto il vino, si ubriacò e si denudò all’interno della sua tenda.	21 He drank some of the wine, and while he was drunk, he lay uncovered in his tent.
22 Cam, padre di Canaan, vide la nudità di suo padre e raccontò la cosa ai due fratelli che stavano fuori.	22 Ham, father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.
23 Allora Sem e Iafet presero il mantello, se lo misero tutti e due sulle spalle e, camminando a ritroso, coprirono la nudità del loro padre; avendo tenuto la faccia rivolta indietro, non videro la nudità del loro padre.	23 Shem and Japheth took a cloak and they both put it over their shoulders, and walking backwards,covered their father's nakedness; they kept their faces turned away, and they did not look at their father naked.
24 Quando Noè si fu risvegliato dall’ebbrezza, seppe quanto gli aveva fatto il figlio minore;	24 When Noah awoke from his stupor he learned what his youngest son had done to him,
25 allora disse: «Sia maledetto Canaan! Schiavo degli schiavi sarà per i suoi fratelli!».	25 and said: Accursed be Canaan, he shal be his brothers' meanest slave.
26 E aggiunse: «Benedetto il Signore, Dio di Sem, Canaan sia suo schiavo!	26 He added: Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, let Canaan be his slave!
27 Dio dilati Iafet ed egli dimori nelle tende di Sem, Canaan sia suo schiavo!».	27 May God make space for Japheth, may he live in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his slave!
28 Noè visse, dopo il diluvio, trecentocinquanta anni.	28 After the flood Noah lived three hundred and fifty years.
29 L’intera vita di Noè fu di novecentocinquanta anni; poi morì.	29 In al , Noah's life lasted nine hundred and fifty years; then he died.
