1 Cantico delle ascensioni. Dal profondo ti invoco, o Jahvè,	1 A Canticle in steps: of David. O Lord, my heart has not been exalted, and my eyes have not been raised up. Neither have I walked in greatness, nor in wonders beyond me.
2 Signore, ascolta la mia voce! Siano le tue orecchie attente all’espressione delle mie suppliche.	2 When I was not humble in thought, then I lifted up my soul. Like one who has been weaned from his mother, so was I recompensed in my soul.
3 Se tu guardi le colpe, o Jahvè, Signore, chi por resistere?	3 Let Israel hope in the Lord, from this time forward and even forever.
4 Invece presso di te è il perdono, perché ti si tema.
5 Spero in Jahvè, la mia anima attende alla sua parola.
6 La mia anima riguarda a Jahvè più delle scolte al mattino.
7 Spera, Israele, in Jahvè perché presso Jahvè è pietà e copioso presso di lui il riscatto.
8 Ed egli redimerà Israele da tutte le sue colpe.
